My husband created his own pasta bowl with ravioli, pomodoro sauce and added fresh mushrooms. It was delicious and served hot. I ordered the Donatello plate and it was also delicious. They put a good amount of sundried tomatoes. The portion was enough to fill you up and take some home. We ordered ice waters and I loved how they came with a slice of lemon. Shows how attentive to detail they are. The clam chowder was the soup of the day and it was pretty good too. However, after a couple spoonfuls it was a bit salty. Still delicious! Ordered online while heading back to Soledad from Monterey. Said order would be ready in 30 mins and that's about how long it took us to get there. It was ready on time. Heading south to Paso Robles with my dad and he loves great Italian comfort food - so do I! We found this restaurant on Yelp and were surprised that the small town of Gonzalez had such a well reviewed place. Anyway, we were greeted with smiles and sat at a booth in the bar. For those who care: they have cushioned seating, so no hard seats or benches (my senior dad appreciates that!). Stephanie provided great service and one of the sons (I did not catch his name) of the family who owns the restaurant walked us through the wine list and let us try a great chardonnay from the Santa Lucia Highlands - the primary AVA of the region. We ended up getting a bottle of rosé from Manzoni, another nearby winery. Delicious, crisp rosé of pinot. We split a side salad and an order of spaghetti and tomato sauce - the family's recipe. It was simple, delicious, and comforting! Too much for us - glad we split it, but we couldn't eat it all (ok, I could have eaten all of mine, but I would have had to take a nap in the booth before leaving, LOL). Even better, the restaurant is open all day - we got there around 2:15 and were glad they weren't closed. So many menu options though, next time I'll sure try something else. The burgers looked great. They also have a happy hour! Specials every day, big menu of them, including amazing sounding homemade desserts. They also have vegan and vegetarian options, or can make things vegan if needed. Luigi's is a California gem. Seriously. The food is absolutely amazing - the artichoke bisque is smooth and creamy (albeit rich). The spaghetti a classic with a family recipe, with the pasta cooked perfectly al dente. This is a required stop if driving up or down the 101 or as a post Pinnacles Park treat. Luigi's has a food truck, "R Truck", that parks in King City on Thursdays and Fridays. While they search for a more permanent location than the corner of the King City School District's office and Broadway we are BLESSED to have their Italian cuisine available to us! SUCH incredible food! Michaelangelo is my favorite---chicken fettucini--but there isn't a bad meal on that menu. Came here on a Monday afternoon for lunch with my husband and it was nice and quite. We ordered a artichoke bisque to start (sadly I forgot to take a picture of it.) Bit trust me this is a MUST HAVE!! Soup is so rich and creamy with flavor, sometimes I just come to buy large containers of it to have for dinner on a cold day. My husband ordered the garlic calamari with double veggies and all I can say is WOW!! So full of flavor and his favorite part was the large chunks of garlic!!! It definitely had that home cooked feel that something your grandma would make for you that had a ton of flavor. I ordered the calamari piccata with mashed potatoes. This was so delicious and I loved the amount of capers it came with. The flavors were so rich and creamy. I have to say I'd definitely order this again!! Having heard nothing but positive things about Luigi's my lady & I finally ordered take-out. Luigi's Pride family size pizza was our choice. I can eat & we like to be sure to have leftovers for more than 1 or 2 meals so we ordered the calamari. We had NO IDEA the size of the Family pizza! Both were AMAZING! Calamari super tender & the pizza just rocks! They do not skimp on toppings. As great as the food was, the service would've made me comeback alone! We've been back twice in 4 weeks. This was the first time coming to Luigi's . We were helped by such a great server I don't recall her name but she was great . The first thing we ordered was our drinks a red wine and waters. After we ordered an appetizer which was the calamari ! It had such a great pairing of sauces between tartar sauce and a sweet and spicy orange aioli. Next came our food which was a surprise to my eyes . There were all the elements in a plate I was looking for (veggies, meat, mushrooms and the most amazing tasting garlic roasts) this was also paired with your choice of pasta or ravioli and I chose ravioli(cheese to be exact). The flavor of everything meshed well with everything included on this plate . I definitely would come back here . It looked like a great place to bring family and friends as well so it's a win in my book. read more

This restaurant went downhill compared to how it used to be. I know we came on mexican mothers day when it's always crowded but we've always came on this day. No more free bread with spread...or we simply didn't get any. The service was terrible, even asking for utensils since they didn't give us enough had one person waiting over half an hour to eat...it took 4 requests until I finally got up and walked where the register was to ask. They ran out of beer, they ran out of clamato for micheladas. They forgot many drinks and those that came, took over half an hour to get. Maybe they were just super short staffed but the prices on food have gone up while the menu has been cut down. Every order does not come with a salad even though what I ordered says it does up top. Place was a mess. I was so excited to try this place because it's been around for a while!!! Food was really good. I was so excited to find a dish I haven't had for a while that I can't find anywhere anymore. However, service was horrible. Our server was super rude from the beginning. Didn't even get a greeting just a straight Drinks?? question. Wasn't even told a single thank you throughout the whole meal. There was a large party there so it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. Shortly after we got our appetizer the building got super Smokey inside and it lasted the whole time we were there. That was super annoying. Maybe next time it'll be better.
