a plate of pasta and a glass of wine
    Elida V.

Their outside dinning is amazing!!! The heated lamp kept me warm on this cold-chilly day. I wasn't sure what wine to have, so I just told the waitress what I liked and she understood me very well. The wine was on point..i'm taking a bottle with me. The shrimp fettuccine was /is delicious. "Ruben, the cook " took time to come out to meet me when he was informed I loved his cooking. thanks Ruben. Your all sweet, sweet like my wine. Thank you Pasta Mia your awesome!!! Orlando was the man that took the time to tell the cook I loved his cooking. Thank you Arlondo. Mary my sweet Mary you'r such a nice server may God keep you all safe and this business striving with success.

    Spicy latino

Omg! What an amazing place. The food is beyond great. I love that everything has a latino flair to it. The pasta was cooked perfect, proteins cooked perfect and didn't taste frozen, great customer service. Wow I'm impressed and will be visiting again. Definitely high end food for a mall food court. Oh and great prices.

Yelp prices for Pasta Mia are more expensive.

Far too expensive for what you get . I've had frozen Stouffer's lasagna. The taste exactly the same, at probably a quarter of the price.

Tasteless I can do way better at a fettuccine shrimp. Water down sauce spilled all over the bag. Never again.

The restaurant has a great drink selection and a great menu. We were pleasantly surprised to learn they offer a Tuesday dinner special that includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for only $32! This menu also had a special drink selection. I ordered the house salad, prawn risotto, and chocolate lava cake. The salad was very fresh with spring mix and butter lettuce, which I especially enjoy, and it was topped with a light vinaigrette style house dressing that was light and delicious. The prawn risotto was creamy, flavorful, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The chocolate lava cake was rich and very chocolatey, a bit too rich for my personal taste, but still enjoyable. It also came with vanilla gelato, which was delicious. As a table, we also ordered the tableside tiramisu, which was such a fun and unique experience. I am a tiramisu connoisseur, so anytime I see it on the menu, I ordered it. It is my favorite dessert. Although this was not my favorite one, I very much enjoyed the experience. I will mention the espresso needs a little more time to fully soak into the ladyfingers, but the presentation and experience alone made it worth trying. The ambiance was lovely with nice background music, and the service was attentive and welcoming. Everyone in our party truly enjoyed their meal, especially the birthday girl. Overall, Patria is a fantastic dinner spot in Salinas, and I would absolutely return and highly recommend it.

I'm glad to report that last night had some music in the bar, it was soft and sounded like Italian folk (Frank Sinatra would've been nice too) but it was perfectly fine because it broke up the atmosphere in a positive way. Calamari appetizer was great and my pork chop was too. Service was equally great as it was prompt and accompanied. I'll be back soon, so if you haven't tried Patria yet, you should.

About once a month we choose the Safeway deli in whatever town we are in. Have never had a problem. That night I started having diarrhea. I went to sleep and woke up feeling even more nauseated. I ended up running into the bathroom and vomiting. The next day I was wrecked. Sunday still didn't feel well. Went to work today (Monday) body felt better but stomach was still not right. Talked to my co-worker and he to got sick. That pretty much assured me that I (we) got some bad chicken. I do want to add this as well. I am a former Chef and as I was standing in line I did notice some not so great food handling. Mainly what I noticed was the cashier was working with food then touching the register back n forth. I know they have a lot of turnover at lunch but that's no excuse to serve food in that way. My whole weekend was ruined and I still don't feel well. I should have listened to my gut when I saw how the food was being handled. Word to the wise. Trust your gut! So you don't throw up your gut.

We ordered avocado toast, French toast, banana pecan pancake, house potatoes, and an Aperol spritzer. My avocado toast was served on a single very thick piece of bread, which had a very generous amount of avocado smash and was topped off with this delightful and fresh arugula salad. I added an over easy egg for an extra charge that was the perfect balance. The house salad was simple with butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes, radish, cucumber, with a light lemon house dressing that brought the salad together. It was refreshing. The French toast is pretty standard. Nothing that particularly stood out. The banana pecan pancake was delicious and shared with everyone at the table. The house potatoes were extra crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, which I found particularly satisfying. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and found Portabello's to be a good brunch spot in Salinas. The service was fast, the food portions were big, the food tasted fresh, and it was a nice ambiance. I would definitely return for the avocado toast and potatoes. Side note - I noticed Caesar Salad was misspelled on the menu as "Caeser"

I lived in the Bay Area for several years, and this is honestly the closest you'll get in flavor. There is usually a wait, but that's the same experience at Boiling Crab. Me and boyfriend came in as a party of 2 with the possibility of one more as the other party just got off of work and already ate and only coming for a drink. We walked in at exactly 4:30pm and the place was not busy. They asked for how many and I said 3 they then stated to us that we must have the entire party before we are seated. This is the first time this has happened to us. I may understand this as most restaurants do this but for it being 4:30, with multiple booths and tables open, no rush, staff just sitting in empty booths, no waitlist, how can they not accommodate this? I understand restaurants have policies that are important, but what happened to hospitality. Dining out is not only about serving good food it's also about providing thoughtful, welcoming service. When the restaurant is clearly not busy, a little flexibility and basic consideration can make a significant difference in a customer's experience. A post like this can easily be avoided if there was a bit of empathy. The food is good so I leave this a 3.

We were driving so no booze. Old Town Burger ($15) with onion rings for $2. Wife did fried green beans (!) at $12 and we had iced tea and sodas at $3.75 each. Lots of photos and memorabilia on the walls and there were a lot of sports items, so owners must be into some teams. Very clean. Friendly wait staff, we had Karen K., and service was prompt and food accurate. An excellent stopping point if driving through the Salinas, the Garden Bowl of the Country. Only an hour south of San Fransisco.
