Lobster roll flight and bowl of clam chowder
    Miori I.

Had an impromptu lunch date with my husband at Luke's Lobster Santa Monica after the Run Travis Run 5K, and it couldn't have been a better post-race treat! The space is bright, clean, and welcoming -- simple décor with large windows that let in tons of sunshine, and thankfully, no overwhelming seafood smell when you walk in. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating from start to finish. Service was stellar -- when our kettle chips got a little soft from sitting next to the hot soup, they kindly replaced them with a fresh, unopened bag without hesitation. We ordered the lobster roll flight (lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter). All three were fresh and delicious, but the spicy honey butter was the standout! The staff even recommended trying that flavor with shrimp next time -- we're definitely taking that advice. We also shared a bowl of clam chowder, which was creamy, flavorful, and loaded with clams. After a few disappointing lobster rolls and chowders elsewhere, this meal was an absolute hit. Everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and made with care. We'll 100% be back!

Stopped in for lunch after working a long morning at a special event in Santa Monica. Walked over and the place wasn't busy at that hour. Took my time looking over the menu and went with the Lobster Roll Flight, a cup of clam chowder, and a drink. I found a seat and waited while our order was prepared. The person at the register was kind, but the real standout was the man who made the food. When I mentioned that the chips that came with our plates didn't taste quite right, he immediately took care of it and brought out a fresh serving. Total pro move and very appreciated. The food itself was delicious. The lobster rolls were flavorful and the spicy honey butter was a star. Definitely looking forward to returning and working my way through more of the menu.

The Baseline: For a seafood fast casual restaurant the fish/seafood needs to be fresh, the presentation of the food should be comforting and respect the delicacy of the seafood, and there must be a selection of accompanying offerings. Food: The lobster is high quality here and the preparation is excellent. The Lobster Roll sampler is really good to try the different preparations. The full lobster roll is meaty and filling. The chips are nice but wish I had fries. The soda selection is awesome (got a Maine Blueberry soda). The price is what you get when you order the lobster. Service: Counter order deliver to your table service. Good and efficient. Ambiance: The restaurant is really well presented and has good decor. The bathroom was clean. The seating was well laid out and the lighting was good in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the outside is Santa Monica 2025 and is sketchy at night (not the restaurant's fault)

Between two of us, we ordered: Clam Chowder, Lobster Bisque, the Lobster Roll Flight and Luke's Lobster Roll warmed up. The total was $100. Everything was OK; The lobster roll was definitely not like how I had it in Seattle. At the first bite, I was disappointed by the hardly warmed meat and over-buttered bread that was dripping, soggy, onto my tray from my Luke's roll. I didn't try the flight but I was told that was a 6/10 too and not worth the price. We were disappointed to say the least. I really liked the Lobster Bisque, though. The Clam Chowder was good, too, but I was there for lobster! The ambiance in the place is casual. Order at the cashier and they bring it out to you.

Luke's Lobster has a new spot in Santa Monica, and it's great to have this East Coast favorite on the West Coast. I ordered the Lobster Roll combo, which comes with chips and a soft drink for $41, and added the poppyseed slaw for an extra $2. The roll tasted just like it does back in NYC--fresh, flavorful, and packed with lobster. Prices are a bit higher than the East Coast locations, but not by much. I do miss the roll-only option they offered when they first opened, which was nice for a lighter or more flexible meal. Still, the quality is solid and it's a welcome addition to the area.

My mouth waters whenever I think or talk about this place. It really is that good! I've never had a proper lobster roll prior to my visit but have always wanted to try Luke's. I stopped by an hour before closing on a Friday night and the guys at the register were so friendly and helpful. I ordered the seafood roll flight so I could try a bit of everything for my first time and so glad I did. Although all three were delicious, I am a sucker for crab and liked that one better than the lobster or shrimp rolls. Everything was cooked to perfection though and I was surprisingly full afterwards. I also ordered a side of the truffle butter and hot honey butter. I thought the truffle butter was OK (I don't like truffle very much) but can see someone who loves truffle really enjoying it! Honestly, I found the hot honey butter a little too spicy for my tastes and preferred just adding a little hot sauce instead to get the heat and acidity to cut the richness of the roll. The lemon butter was really my favorite. They were sadly out of clam chowder when I went so I will have to go back to try it. Overall, it is a bit pricier than usual for a casual spot but: 1) it's seafood, 2) their seafood is sustainably sourced, and 3) it's delicious and very well-worth the price. This has definitely earned a spot in my regular rotation and can't wait to go back. Thank you, Luke!

Was just ok. I've had it at another location in Vegas and loved it. This time I liked it but not sure I would go back. I got the Mainer so 6oz lobster roll with clam chowder, chips and a drink. Also got the seafood flight which was 2oz of crab, 2 oz of lobster and 2oz shrimp. For the lobster, there was seasoning on top that I wasn't a fan of maybe if I do go back I'll order it warm just with butter. Staff was friendly and there as lots of seating both inside and outside. It's located a block or two from the Main Street near the beach.

Absolutely delicious lobster roll. Prompt service. Small space but clean and orderly, do recommend!

A brightly lit, cheerfully decorated store on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Second St, Luke's Lobster serves up fresh lobster, crab, and shrimp rolls. The food tastes plenty fresh but portion sizes for the price leave something to be desired. To put into perspective, my meal consisted of three two ounce rolls of lobster, crab, and shrimp, an 8 ounce cup of clam chowder, some chips, a pickle, and a bottle of Mexicane Cola. While I enjoyed the meal, it wasn't particularly the most filling and came out to be $51 after tax and tips. I understand that these types of seafood are not cheap, but damn did my wallet hurt after the meal. Overall, nice fresh seafood but I probably won't be back until I have some more dough in my bank account :')

Bowl of chowder with a root beer.

While wandering Santa Monica with no lunch plan in mind--just the freedom of a train ride, some shopping, and a stroll to the pier--I stumbled upon Luke's Lobster, a fast-casual spot tucked into DTSM's busy scene. It turned out to be a pleasant little detour. I kept it light with a bowl of clam chowder and a root beer. The chowder isn't made in-house, but it's also not your standard food-service fare. It's made exclusively for the franchise, which is a decent compromise. Texture-wise, it leaned watery rather than creamy, but the clams were visible and generously portioned--definitely not stingy. The base flavor was mild, with small potato bits making up most of the body. I didn't find any other vegetables in my bowl. Not bad, just simple. The root beer, unfortunately, was a letdown. It lacked that classic punchy carbonation and felt a bit flat overall. Nothing to rave about there. Service was friendly and informative. The person behind the counter walked me through how they source their seafood--sustainably and directly from the coast. Always good to hear when a business knows (and cares about) where their ingredients come from. As a bonus, I was handed a punch card for future visits--ten stamps and there's a reward at the end. Noted. Would I go back? There's a good chance. Next time, I'll skip the soup and go straight for their signature lobster or shrimp roll, which looked like the real reason most people were there in the first place. Bottom Line: Luke's is a solid, casual stop if you're in Santa Monica and want seafood without the fuss. The chowder was okay, the root beer forgettable, but the atmosphere and service made up for it. Come for the rolls--or at least plan to next time.

best lobster rolls ever!! The bread was fresh, lightyear toasted with a crisp and lobsters was also fresh and juicy. The place was clean. Goid amount of tables. The service was so friendly. All smiles. Checking on us. Strongly recommend this establishment.

    Lobster roll flight
    Kathy X.

The lobster here is really good and fresh. The flight option is fun too, but I'll be honest, the flavors all taste about the same. I do think it's still worth it to get the flight, since it's only $1 more than a normal 6oz lobster roll. It also comes with a craft soda and chips. The service here is great and super friendly and there is a good amount of seating available inside and outside. There's also free parking lot around the corner.

    Lobster flight

I had this for the first today and thought it was great! I got the lobster flight but liked the original lemon one the best. I got it chilled (which is my preference anyways). The lobster was extremely fresh. While it is pricey compared to other places, they definitely load up the lobster. I also love that it's not covered in mayo or drowned in butter. The meal also comes with free chips and a drink.

We liked it so much that we made a plan to come back next week. So we went to today and I ordered a BLT with turkey added, no problem. My girlfriend asked for the veggie wrap in a sandwich form and the guy at the register said "we don't do modifications". My girlfriend responded by saying they were able to do it last time so could you check. He looked fairly new and had trouble putting in my order in the register since I modified it by adding turkey. So he went to the back and just asked, do we do modifications? To which the guy in the back said no. She's vegan and that's all she can have off the menu so she ended up not getting anything and she was bummed since she really liked the sandwich they made last time. So we won't be coming back here and this place gets one star based on the customer service. It's a sandwich shop, if it's an extra charge to put a veggie wrap into a sandwich no problem. But the hard NO when it was made last time is PRETTY LAME for a sandwich shop not being able to make a veggie sandwich.

The bread was soft and fresh, and the chicken cutlets were excellent, smothered in gooey, cheesy goodness. While I loved the spicy vodka sauce, it wasn't very spicy, especially for a sandwich named "Spicy."I really enjoyed the Spicy P and would definitely order it again, but I'd also like to come back and try The Crispy Chicken Caesar Wrap next time. Ggiata is definitely worth checking out. I recommend ordering online in advance to avoid a long wait. They have a few stools inside and chairs outside, but it's better to take it to go and enjoy the beach or people-watch in Venice.

Came here to grab lunch cause I heard their wraps were amazing. The store was super busy and very…read moresmall. There's not a ton of room to stand to wait so I'd recommend ordering ahead to pick up. Parking was impossible too so if you can walk I'd recommend that or park in the neighborhoods somewhere. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap and it was large so you definitely get your bang for your buck. It came with a side of caesar dressing which I felt it needed as the wrap it self was a little dry due to having light dressing. The chicken was fresh which I loved and they even included croutons inside. Overall the wrap was very good! Next time, I'll be ordering it to be delivered.
