I've been meaning to try it out, so I was excited when my coworkers suggested it as a happy hour spot after an early day off from work recently. It lived up to the vibe. Drinks were solid--my margarita hit the spot and leaned nicely tropical. Happy hour prices are good, but fair warning: some of the portions are on the smaller side (like the chips and salsa, which is more like pico de gallo.) Still, the atmosphere alone makes it worth it. Came here with the fam after family photos and it was one of the few places still open around 9 on a weeknight AND the allowed our little fur baby. We had the whole patio to ourselves. It had been raining so it was sorta chilly and wet outside but the patio is covered and it had a fireplace as well as heaters so it worked out. I even got so hot at some point I had to take off my jacket. They have a doggie menu and they bring out a bowl of water just for your fur baby. She even got some pets. Service was great. Even though we were like the only ones left in the restaurant, I never felt rushed or like some places that rudely try to push you out. Our waitress was super friendly and nice. Food came out relatively quick. The appetizers were better than the main course but the dessert was good too. Ceviche was a winner and so good we didn't take a pic cause we were hungry. To the couples and adults who are looking for a night out on a date or just to hang out quietly for dinner - THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! I'm all for having children at a restaurant as long as they can behave and sit at the table. It doesn't even have to be quiet most of the time, kids make noise, I get it. But this place was like the Olive Garden of seafood with screaming babies and children wandering through the aisles with entitled parents walking behind them, "pretending" to do something about it. It was extremely disruptive, and as a business you obviously can't kick anyone out, but it would've been very thoughtful if the manager or someone came around and acknowledged to the disruptive noise. Not sure if this is a regular thing at this restaurant but it did not make a good first impression. Unfortunately the food was nothing to boast about either. How did this place get high ratings?!?!? Worst and slowest service and worst food I've had in awhile. It was comparable to a chain diner experience. I looked up the gluten free menu on my own because they have a QR code. I ordered from the gluten-free menu and strangely, the waiter was laughing the entire time, also asking me if I was "sure the tacos were on the gluten-free menu". What??? ...I showed him. I ordered grilled Seabass tacos. I told him I had a wheat and an egg allergy. He assured me that the taco only had fish and pineapple salsa. So we put in our own trees and also ordered an appetizer. It was supposed to be shrimp ceviche. What came out was basically green avocado soup like material with what looked like two pieces of cut up shrimp thrown on the top. I could tell the shrimp was thrown on top because I had no sauce on it. OK whatever, we were hungry so we ate it and it was exactly how it looked. Tasted like lime and nothing more and soupy. Then wait brought us water and the glasses were disgustingly dirty. We didn't even drink the water because of that. Then our entrées come out and my tacos have a slaw on it with mayo. Mayo has eggs, which I'm allergic to. Also, NO pineapple salsa. The waiter never came back so I had to flag down the host. He was very sweet and asked if they could re-fire it but I declined because we were on a time limit. It took so long for food we had to renew our parking meter 3x! They removed it from my bill, but the food was disgusting, they almost gave me food with an allergy, the water glasses were dirty, and the appetizer was disgusting. We started with the salmon chowder. Had not seen that on a menu before and was worried it might be a little fishy, but it was not. We tried the trio of sushi tacos and the tempura shrimp roll. The fish was fresh and they were okay versions of themselves, but I would say that in a city with some of the best sushi in the country, I probably wouldn't order the sushi items again. The cooked fish dishes that I saw going by looked great so I would try one of those on my next visit. I was thrilled to discover they offer Happy Hour on weekends from 3 PM to 5 PM, with unbeatable prices and a fantastic selection. Naturally, I had to order my favorite, the Guaca Poke (original ahi poke layered with homemade guacamole, micro cilantro, and house-made tortilla chips), which is about $4 cheaper during Happy Hour. The drink specials were just as impressive--I enjoyed the Mango Daydream Hard Kombucha (a hard booch twice brewed with a tropical blend of mango, pineapple, and orange, perfectly spiced with a touch of cayenne pepper) for about $3 less during Happy Hour. It was mine and my family's first time here, and the service was so bad, took so long for someone to come and take our drink order and when they did we ordered our drinks and food because we were on a time schedule and we didnt want to wait for another long time for someone to come back and take our order, so this made our visit no enjoyable and we wont be back and not recommend to anyone because first our food and appetizer came out all together and then our drinks came out after we had already been eating. Then we had to return the appetizer we ordered because we ate our food. In a normal restaurant you come by take a drink order and then ask us if were ordering an appetizer we eat that and drink and then order for our food it suppose to come out in sections not all at once. You need to hire more staff members. read more
