    LOBSTER GNOCCHI

The gem that is Crudo e Nudo is a must visit! Located on Main Street in Santa Monica, you'd be forgiven to think this may be an overpriced tourist trap. But what you're really getting is a thoughtfully curated, responsibly sourced, and creative seafood based menu in a cozy and home-like environment with excellent and friendly service. We felt very welcomed from the moment we stepped in to the time we left. It was more akin to visiting friends than going out to a restaurant. The service was intimate and friendly without being overbearing. The suggestions were helpful and clearly reflected our preferences. While some of the dishes took longer than expected, overall we don't have any complaints with the extraordinary service. The ambience was cozy and special. The design isn't over the top and fanciful but rather modest, comfy, and intimate. Much like the name, it followed the theme of raw, naked, and unfiltered. Lastly, the food was amazing! They made each ingredient shine. From the tuna tartare toast to the lobster gnocchi, every dish was carefully curated and even the supporting ingredients (like the oil) were high quality and carefully curated to fit. The uni taco bites were to die for. Don't sleep on the secret menu caviar nachos either! Not a single dish disappointed us in any way; you're paying for quality. Overall, if you are looking for a cozy, sustainable sourced seafood meal with friendly atmosphere and staff, you can't go wrong with Crudo e Nudo. Easily 4.75 stars!

So many great reviews on this place, had to come check it out, plus we were super sick of Thanksgiving leftovers.... Parking is not easy on Main Street, but behind there is plenty of meters in the lot. Place is very small, four tables inside but a nice setup outside with heat lamps. Warm greeting at the door and explained to look at the blackboard as their menu. It changes often based on what's fresh, in season, etc.. Pretty simple menu and all about fresh fish which was perfect after all that heavy holiday food. Kanpachi - Super fresh and delicious with the perfect amount of pickled onion to not overpower the flavor w/a great yuzu oil We almost ordered another one it was so on point Cioppino Stew - I've had this a few times and it can be too heavy or garlicky; this one was well balanced where the muscles and scallops where the star and not overpowered by other ingredients Just the right amount of bread for dunking Lobster Gnocchi - Talk about a winner! Perfectly cooked pasta with another well-balanced sauce that easily could have been overpowered by the Calabrian chilis It's a bit pricey but what isn't these days and it's nice to have seafood where you really can taste it Knowing the menu changes so often, we're sure to come back soon to see what's new/fresh! Quick tip - make a reservation if you want to eat inside!

Service was lacking. The menu here feels like one where the waiters need to explain it well, and even though our waiter partially walked through the menu, we still felt confused. Even though it was our first time, it felt like they assumed we would know what things were. They were slow to refill our water and seemed to never notice our empty plates and would not take it away. We also had an empty beer glass and bottle that sat at the edge of the table for a majority of our meal. We got the kanpachi pretty quick after ordering but the uni taco took weirdly long considering how simple the dish is and doesn't require cooking. We waited 50+ minutes for a lukewarm ratatouille and between 60-75 minutes for our main dishes. The ratatouille and tagine were quite salty, with the tagine basically being inedible. Not sure we would come back. The crudo dishes were good but I wouldn't recommend getting their non raw fish dishes. There's a metered parking lot one block west. The restaurant is quite small inside with four tables, each with two seats, and a round table that probably sits 4 people. There is outdoor seating on Main St as well.

Fish is fresh and ingredients are creative but not overly complicated. My only issue is that most of the dishes were too salty - and I say this is a self proclaimed salt lover. If they could tone down the salt, I would have given this place five stars. Everything was good but standouts for me were the tuna tartare toast and the roasted collar. The bread they serve is delicious! I think they would benefit from a good dessert. Also, they have a system where you scan a QR code and pay on your phone, including tip. We did so and thanked the server and started walking out when the server stopped us and asked us if we'd closed out. We said yes, but then she asked us to show her the confirmation page. This felt a bit weird / accusatory and I think if they're going to do this anyway they may as well stick to the traditional way of taking the customer's credit card lol.

Great fresh seafood! Yet, the star of the show is the Tuna Tartare Toast! it's the best I had in LA so far. Must try! (I ate it so fast that forgot about the pic, delicious).

Parking: Metered parking on all surrounding streets. It can get busy some nights, so you may have to walk a few blocks. Experience: We came in on a Thursday evening without a reservation around 6pm and were seated immediately outside. All the food was so flavorful and beautifully plated! We got the Yellowtail and the tuna tartare toast. The waitress recommended the melon salad, which I wasn't sure about, but it was so refreshing! This place deserves way more hype, and I definitely want to come back!

Found this gem in downtown Santa Monica and let's just say we were very impressed. Started with the crudo trio, lobster, scallops and rock fish. Then we had roasted fish collars and roasted octopus. Octopus was a little on the chewy side but the flavors of the dish offset that. Would highly recommend stopping by here.

Delicious!!! Everything was so fresh and was flavorful. We ordered the bread and oil, kampachi, halibut, toro and the tuna tartare toast. There were 2 of us and we shared everything and it was a perfect lunch. My favorite was the tartare. It was so flavorful but each bite of all the dishes which were pretty beautifully plated and were all delicious. Service was exceptional. It's a very small restaurant with most tables outside. Easy parking in lots in the surrounding streets near the restaurant. Park there and then walk a couple blocks and you are at the beach.

Dropped in for some happy hour and we were lucky to get fit in. Restaurant is pretty small with about for 2-4 seating tables indoors and a patio just outside. Service was good, waitresses served us quick. We only ordered 1 baked oyster and they made it for us. half order of mussels - the mussels were quite different from what I'm used to. Its a light olive oil based sauce that allows the flavour of the mussels and ocean to be brought out. Would recommend! squid ink fried rice - Another interesting dish. The rice was crispy reminescent of the bottom of a chinese clay pot rice. The squid ink does not provide much flavour, but their chili crisp on top of the rice made it super tasty. Would recommend! Overall love the vibes from this restaurant. The day we were having this meal they were seting up for an event that was showcasing a local wine brewer! Fun stuff!

Had such an excellent dinner here yesterday. We ordered the Crudo trio sampler, two tuna toasts, and one garden vegetable mezze. Everything we ordered was excellent and so insanely fresh. The mezze had fun, uncommon vegetables and the tomato Crudo was such a unique and creative preparation !! Everything tasted fantastic and the ambiance outside is perfect for summer. The tuna on the tuna toasts melted in our mouths, so buttery. The sesame bread too was also so delicious.

As seafood-lovers and eco-conscious consumers, we were looking forward to trying out Crudo e Nudo's raw seafood dishes. Our group of four had the first reservation of the day on an overcast Saturday when the restaurant opened at noon. The inside was a lot more narrow than I imagined and had only three seats along the window, whereas the outside area with the wooden deck had seating with actual tables, but still felt rather cramped especially when more patrons arrived. Since it's Santa Monica and they offer outdoor dining, we happily brought our dog to accompany us. Our friend had asked us to join her for lunch here, so we gave her full reins on what to order and she immediately opted for Neptune's Flight which is a 5-course tasting menu selected by the chef including on + off menu items. Price paid the day we visited in the summer was $89/person. Food: * Beverage: Fermensch Kombucha "Bloom" Blueberry Lavender Chamomile. Kombucha came in a can and I think those who don't care for this stuff may enjoy it. I personally liked this a lot because I enjoy the flavors of blueberry and chamomile and thankfully the lavender wasn't too strong. The purple-pink color is especially pretty too. * Crudo: Rockfish, Kanpachi, Uni Taco Bites, Percebes Barnacles (LOL I see why this is an off-menu item - never thought I would ever eat these gnarly barnacles!) The Kanpachi arrived in a shallow pool of calamansi juice and yuzu oil. The Rockfish came drizzled in white soy sauce and a mandarin oil. We all really enjoyed the citrus-based oils. Each of us got about two slices of fish. The Uni Taco Bites did not come in a tortilla, but a sheet of nori. Perhaps I'm being overly critical, but there's nothing about this that makes it a "taco" other than it should be eaten with hands. The Percebes Barnacles are unique in that I've never had this type of barnacle before. My dining mates said this was their least favorite dish. Barnacles had an appearance very similar to little turtle feet. * Vegetarian: Caesar Goes Vegan Usually not one to order Caesar salad, but I do appreciate the generous addition of furikake here. Definitely added more oomph to an otherwise basic salad. * Compositions: Smoked Fish Dip, Caviar Nachos, Squid Ink Fried Rice, Fried Fish Collar The fish dip was good and packed with flavor. Pretty astonished that they used potato chips for their Caviar Nachos. I suppose I expected something else to be used as a base with caviar for this dish. Squid Ink Fried Rice was not the most enjoyable because I didn't care for the "crispy" rice which kept getting stuck in our teeth. The fried fish collar was good. Glad it didn't get overly cooked/burnt. * Dessert: Maple Almond Butter Cup A healthy adult version of the peanut butter cup, but yikes this dessert immediately started melting once we lifted it up. Decadently tasty and I like that it's not super sweet, but it was also very messy and not the most ideal way to end a meal. Notes: - Reservations available via Resy, but know that cancellations within a 12 hour window will be charged $30/guest - Open daily from noon until 9 or 10 PM - Crudo e Nudo is sandwiched between Lula Cocina Mexicana and Sweet Rose Creamery - Prices here are steep so come prepared to spend - Service was all right, nothing super special - Credit card usage includes a 3% transaction fee - There's a single gender-neutral washroom, which you have to enter/pass by the open kitchen - Friendly remember to apply sunblock even if it's an overcast day (I got sunburned on my shoulders).

    Oyster flight

The food is excellent. Not pretentious. Just good food. A little pricey, but it is seafood. The biggest surprise here is the wait staff. I had just arrived from France and stayed at the Hotel Costes in Paris. Hands down, these guys did better. The ladies were world class. I felt welcome and taken cared of.

Such a great experience at this gem on Main! Have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and finally decided to stop in with my partner. I'd recommend a reservation here in general, but they were able to take us without one that night. We decided to get the tasting menu to make the most of it and the food did not disappoint! We tried so many delicious dishes - oysters, tuna toast, a delicious salad, and fish collar. We enjoyed a nicely paired bottle of wine with our meal. I will say that if you are going to get the tasting menu, be prepared to EAT. We did have to bring some food as they kept sending out more dishes for us. The ambiance is really sweet - a super small restaurant that you can literally see into the kitchen. Some indoor seating but mostly outdoor. Very cute and such a special place for a unique dining experience! Absolutely worth going to when in the area and looking for a great culinary experience of a meal.

After this first experience, this place is about a solid three stars for me. I may come back again if in Santa Monica... I am still a bit under the weather and drove here because I wanted some kind of seafood soup. They offer three different kinds of soups which I appreciated! There is NE clam chowder, Manhattan clam chowder and a fish chowder. Since I dont always see fish chowder on the menu, I ordered a small bowl. I wanted a larger bowl and a place to sit down and eat it but the place was packed for lunch and I didnt feel like grabbing a spot at their bar as I needed to get back on the road, so just went with the small (and I am glad I did - read on to see why). They have a funny system here because you only order their menu items from a cashier in the back, but then take a number if you want fresh seafood. I wanted to try their Hawaiian style poke and cashier had me go and grab a number. I grabbed a number and it wasn't busy so I was served immediately. For a 1/4 lb of Hawaiian poke, it was about $9.50. Whats also strange is that I grabbed my soup (did not pay for it in the back), and my Hawaiian poke and then paid up front. Everything came close to $20. I sat in my car, (which thank goodness, this seafood market has its own parking lot, so that was greatly appreciated), and dug into my soup. Unfortunately, the soup was pretty bland and needed a bit more salt. But, I will say that the ingredients used in the fish chowder were all very fresh, and fish wasnt overcooked, but it needed to be seasoned more. Hawaiian poke was great, excellent taste. Overall, a so so experience, I would have liked better scenery to eat my food being I was very close to the beach and wished I had a more seasoned fish chowder. I could be convinced to come back and give it a second try, but I think I might prefer to visit Malibu Seafood which isnt too far from here and has great ocean views.

You'll pay $40 at three places down the street for a lobster roll with less than half the lobster. The quesadillas are great at happy hour. My husband is a beef taco aficionado, my favorite are the lobster and shrimp. Their French fries are legendary. They DO NOT MISS on the culinary front. On to service. I've never had a place (in Santa Monica, no less) treat me like family like Blake and the boys do here. The restaurant's vibe is low-key, there's always sports of some sort on TV, and it has a cheers feel some nights. The high-quality food, a laid-back vibe with great service, and super reasonable prices are usually a pick-two-of-three in this part of town, but not here! If you're thinking about checking it out, definitely do. Take care of the gents at my spot.

I stopped by with a group of friends over the weekend while visiting Santa Monica, and it couldn't have been a more ideal lunch spot before a relaxing beach stroll. I ordered the lobster tacos and clam chowder, and both were unforgettable. The tacos were incredibly light and fresh, topped with a bold red sauce that delivered a delicious burst of flavor. The clam chowder was equally impressive, rich and creamy, and truly to die for. Our group also shared the tots and fries, which came out golden and extra crispy. To drink, I had the Mexican Mule. It was refreshing, flavorful, and nicely strong. My friends ordered the Connecticut lobster roll and the lobster grilled cheese, and they couldn't stop raving about them. Above all, the customer service was top notch. The team's attention to detail, friendliness, and attentiveness made us feel genuinely welcomed. It added such a warm and memorable touch to our visit. This sweet little local spot is a must-visit when in Santa Monica. I can't wait to come back!!

The entire staff was incredibly kind, and the manager, Luis, was very attentive, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. The food is beyond amazing -- everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Since my first visit I have come back multiple times, and have received outstanding service each time. I came on Valentine's Day and it was beautifully decorated. It was also EXTREMELY BUSY, and again, Luis stepped up and became the backbone for his staff. From hosting, serving, bartending, and working hard to make everything flow smoothly. I have such a wonderful experience each time I come, not only with the food but also with the manager and staff. The restaurant is very clean, which makes the atmosphere even more enjoyable. No matter the time or how busy it is, my food comes out in a reasonable amount of time, and nothing ever feels rushed or forgotten. What really stood out to me was how much the manager seems to genuinely care about both the staff and the overall environment. He was constantly moving around, checking in on everyone, making sure guests are happy and that his team is doing okay as well. It's really warming to see that level of dedication and leadership. Overall, this is one of my new favorite places to come due to my positive and memorable experiences. Great food, amazing service, and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent customer service.
