I am so impressed with Luke's Locker! I have had a long journey trying to find new running shoes. My husband and I who have always been runners have been training for our first half post baby. I first purchased a pair from another store called fleet feet which had a similar system for fitting shoes. They were so small that my feet were bleeding after my first long run in them. I decided to go to Luke's locker to replace them. The salesman sized me and said I was in a full size too small and put me in an 8. He was very nice and was patient with me while I decided what to do. Unfortunately I never checked the box after I bought them. I ran in them for a month and my terrible blisters were just getting worse. The NIGHT BEFORE my half (after a month of running in them) I decided to check the size and somehow the salesman sold me a 7 1/2 instead of an 8. Knowing it was partially my fault for not bothering to check the size, I called to explain the situation and the salesman I spoke to (Jonathan) immediately told me there was no problem and to bring them in to get a new pair. I am so impressed because I believe they are passionate about running and finding the right shoes for each customer. They also seem to know the value of a returning customer- I will only be shopping here for shoes from now on! read more

I stopped by a few days ago and it was a miserable experience. There were 3x as many employees as customers in the store, but I couldn't get anyone to even make eye contact with me, much less ask if I needed help. When I finally did get help, it was from a man with an Australian, maybe South African accent who could not have been ruder. Clearly he hated people and/or his job. They have re-arranged the store to focus on shoes, but the shoe selection was very limited. Looks like they have significantly scaled back the clothing as well and none of the basics I normally get were there anymore. I understand they are having financial issues, but to survive, you need to be knocking customer service out of the park. read more

I came here to get a new pair of shoes for a half marathon that I am running in a few months. I couldn't find the pair I wanted elsewhere and this was the last place I checked. They did have my size but the color was out of stock. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable. read more

Was looking for waterproof shoes but unfortunately I wasn't able to find one that was perfect for me. On the contrary, the staff was very helpful and they had a nice selection of shoes, clothing and accessories. Would recommend. read more

You can find everything you need for running except actual track & field or cross country racing shoes.. For a store that is specific to running I'm disappointed that they don't carry not a single track/crosscountry shoe. This is the essence of the running sport and I'm just baffled by this.. read more

Past the Return Policy, I still managed to get a full refund and positive experience at Luke's Locker. The same cashier who assisted me 45+days ago, assisted me with my return. I explain about my runner's knee issues after purchasing the new shoes, went back to my old runner shoes with no runner's knee issues. Showed the cashier my sports orthopedic paperwork of runners knee diagnose and physical therapy 3xs a week for 4 weeks. I guess he felt sorry for me and gave me back the full refund. My wife and I showed up at the door at 7:00pm to pick up our bibs for the Trinity River levee run. There was a Iukes locker employee unlocking the door to let patrons of the store out (they close at 7:00pm. We unloaded our 2 month old and 2 year old out of the car, and walked up as he had opened the door for the second customer to leave since we pulled up. He said, "sorry we're closed." We politely said we were there to pick up our bibs for tomorrow's run (our 4th year in row.) He said, "sorry, the people working the table had packed up, and pick up ended at 6pm." We stood there in shock with our kids in our arms. We reminded him pick up was till 7:00PM, and he said "sorry, y'all can see them at the race to get your bibs there." Funny thing is our babysitter is coming at 6:50am, and we will not likely be there at 7:15 in the morning, but we are going to try. We are a family of runners, and could not be more disappointed in Luke's locker on how we were treated. I hope where ever the employee had to be to keep us from picking up our bibs was worth turning us away at 7:00pm. I'd not recommend shopping at Luke's locker. read more

First of all I just want to say, wow!! Luke's Locker has to be one of the top best decisions I have ever made. I have always struggled with having wide flat feet and over pronating, and I am just so shocked at all the wrong information I researched online about the correlation between over pronation and wide feet!! My experience with my "guru" was SO informative and I tried on 5 different shoes and found the perfect pair. They definitely exceeded my expectations and I was very impressed from start to finish. I also learned I have been wearing a size too small for a while nowq!! I am forever grateful and they for sure have a forever customer! read more

I guess this place is closing / moving so this is not really a review of a continuing place. They had almost no mens socks? the service was spotty and they were not very helpful when I asked about whether there was another sporting goods store near uptown and instead kept mentioning their other store when clearly I was in a hurry. read more

I can not give enough rave reviews about the service I received here!!! I am from Austin, and our Luke's location closed and I really needed to be fit for a good pair of walking shoes. I drove from Austin to Dallas just to come here! I worked with Ray and he was amazing and LISTENED. I was having bad shin and hip issues. All I wanted was for someone to listen to the issues I was having and pick the right shoe instead of just bringing out their most expensive shoes. Ray brought out some options and if I had one negative about a shoe he took it out of the options until I found the perfect pair that basically relieved all of my hip pain. Ray was so amazing and I will definitely be driving back there again soon! read more

This is the most amazing sneaker buying experience ever. From the moment t we walked in we were greeted by Sean with, "what brings you in today?" I told him what I needed, what shoe I wanted, and what's wrong with my feet, and he immediately told me what shoe wouldn't best. He measured my feet, watched me walk, made me walk on the treadmill, and then fitted me with the perfect shoe. He was such an expert, and so knowledgableand patient. It was a real wow experience! I have always been a loyal fan and shopper at Luke's Locker until recently when I was told by a neurosurgeon ( who I might mention is also a runner) that I was a hyper-pronator. When I heard this I even questioned him(yes I questioned a neurosurgeon) because in the 5 years I have been buying shoes at Luke's (and have had my running analyzed by a couple of the salespeople) as not being a pronator. Needless to say, the salespeople at Luke's in Dallas have been putting me in the wrong running shoes for the past 5 years (and of course I did not know any of this until I went to see a neurosurgeon who said the reason I was having back spams is because I was not in the right style of shoes for a hyper-pronator, this putting pressure on my sciatic nerve (and thus causing the spams). I have since been fitted by another running shoe store for Brooks shoes and the spasms have subsided. read more

The service at this location is exceptional. I spent almost an hour with Taylor and he fitted me in what we hope to be the right running shoe. I made an appointment the day before and showed up 5 minutes. We went through the entire process from measuring, trying on different pairs, and eventually testing on treadmill. I found everyone in the store to be knowledgeable and very willing to help. Pricing was fair but I would have easily paid double the retail price for all the great service provided. I'll check back in after 300 miles and report on how the shoe selection turned out. read more

I came to this store to find running shoes after a friend recommended it to me...and I sure am glad it did! I am training for a half-marathon and needed new shoes that wouldn't give me blisters/bloody toes. I was greeted right as I walked in and was back in the shoe section for about 5 seconds before help was offered. The sales person that helped me was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable! He asked about my training, my current shoes, and how they were treating me. He measured my feet, examined my arches, and watched me run and walk barefoot. He brought me three pairs that he tried on me and had me run in. After an extensive examination, he selected me a pair and taught me a way to lace them that suited my specific foot. Not only was he thorough in picking out the perfect running shoe for me, but he also was thorough in educating me on foot ware, training opportunities with Luke's Locker, and future runs in Texas. I left with a great pair of shoes and a lot of knowledge. The only thing that about my experience that wasn't exemplary was that he paid no attention to any potential budget I may have. He didn't ask what price I was comfortable with or mention the price of any of the shoes he brought out to me. I actually didn't know the price of the shoes that were chosen until I got to the register. Luckily, I didn't have a maximum price in mind, but I'm sure there are customers that aren't comfortable spending $150 on shoes and they may be placed in a slightly awkward position. That being said, it wasn't enough of an issue to merit fewer than five stars. Luke's Locker is awesome! read more

They have friendly service and their staff really knows their stuff! I saw Laura for shoe fittings on two different occasions. The first time was for cross training shoes for the gym and the second time was for running shoes. She was great, taking time to make sure my issues were addressed and answering my questions. This business and family are disgusting. They closed 6/8 locations on a Friday morning. Each manager and employee found out before their shift started that they were losing jobs. Then, the managers had to call employees who were not there to tell them they had lost their jobs and needed to clean out their personal belongings at the store. Matt Lucas asked managers at each store to stay and pack up. Because they had such a strong and loyal following of employees, managers stayed, only to find out the next week that they filed Chapter 11 and have YET to pay their employees. Oh, and how did employees find out they filed Chapter 11? Facebook. Also on Facebook was a posting that the stores would be "temporarily" closed. That's a complete lie. You fired employees, you stopped paying rent on each location, and you moved all of your product to Dallas & Ft. Worth. Now, you are in a massive lawsuit for not paying employees, the brands you carry, and the rent on specific locations. Luke's Locker is not a family business. PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES. PAY YOUR DEBTORS. STOP LYING TO PEOPLE. read more

I wish the I could like this place! Unfortunately, I seem to always get the WORST service. Today took the cake. I went in looking for a new pair of running shoes, I have been wearing the same brand for about 5 years and they have served me well for running and triathlons for some time. Unfortunately, that brand has redesigned the shoe I love and so I was looking for new options. I was being "helped" by Julie. I told her what my issues were, what I liked in a shoe and what I was looking for in a new shoe and what my doc told me I needed so as not to re-injure a bad ankle. Julie decided she knew better than my podiatrist - my marathon running podiatrist. She actually said that "foot doctors send people in here all the time with totally wrong information" - I was appalled! I started asking more pointed questions relevant to the shoes I was trying on, and she became very defensive. She then started talking down to both me and my husband. Needless to say, I left without new shoes and really don't want to go back! It stinks, I live so close, their inventory is awesome, and their training programs seem great, I just wish they could do better with their service. read more
