hubs and i had a fun time shopping at wild bill's. raymond gave us the western boots 101 and to add to the fun, beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are complimentary. he was patient with us and showed us options that fit what we were looking for. hubs was able to quickly find a pair of boots he liked. everything is on display, there are no back stock so if there are things you like in your size, you're in luck. it seems it's difficult for them to quickly find the original boxes for the boots so he ended up getting a random womens boots box with his purchase for storage. no biggie. the store is split into mens footwear on the left including a custom hat bar, womens footear to the right, and clothing in the middle and back, with some selections for children. wild bills is a great place to start if you're looking to get some western wear as souvies! read more

This is a fun shop located in the Historic West End of downtown Dallas. The have boots, hats, belt buckles, clothing, ornaments, stuffed animals, coats and so much more. My sister flew all the way from Germany wanting to take a piece of Texas back home with her, and we are so grateful we found this place. We were initially struggling to find boots that fit, but we were quickly approached by an incredible gentleman who turned our frustration into an education. He was so kind and passionate; he explained that for tall boots, it's about the calf fit, not just the sole size. He taught us how to read the codes inside the boots rather than just the size tag and personally helped us try them on and off with such patience. When we moved to the hats, he was just as helpful. He made sure we picked hats that wouldn't fly off while horseback riding and helped us color-match them perfectly to our new boots. He even steamed and customized the hats right there (the photo of him working his magic with the steam is a memory we'll cherish!) to ensure a perfect, firm fit. Beyond his expertise, he shared the wonderful 70-year history of his father's store. He made us feel so welcome and happy--it felt like talking to a great father figure. We stopped in while in Dallas and it is a fantastic store. The staff were fantastic and could not have been nicer. The prices on items were competitive with the few other places we visited. They have a lot of great options for boots hats, clothes and jewelry. They were also incredibly kind to my daughter. They explained the hat fitting process, different types of hats and how to care for a hat. She really wanted to see one get fit after seeing a video online and they happily went through the process with her. I don't usually write reviews on stores, so you know that I mean business when I do. I happened to stroll into Wild Bill's Western Store on a Monday evening and was blown away by their amazing inventory of boots. I was also impressed by their overall collection of Western-style clothing. I found a beautiful pair of mint colored booties. It was love at first sight, but I wanted to sleep on it to make sure I really wanted them. Miguel, who was just the nicest sales associate, understood my dilemma and didn't even try to push the sale on me. I told him that I would come the next day, and I did... But then I ran into another conundrum as I found another pair that was a one-of-a-kind exclusive make. Miguel wasn't there this time around, but another associate, who may have also been the owner or store manager, helped me narrow down my choice based on quality and fit. Ultimately, I bought the boots that I fell in love to begin with! He was also very nice and helpful, and he went above and beyond to make sure I knew how to take care of my shoes so that they stayed pristine for years. Great store and staff. So i was kind of expecting this store to be a tourist trap based on location but I was pleasantly surprised when I went in. I was originally looking for boots and even tried on a few pair that I liked but didnt love but ultimately walked away with a hat. This is a feat of its own because I've always wanted to be a hat girl but between by big hair and big head i've never been able to find anything that fit. The staff was amazing with helping me try things out and give me tips on how to wear it and keep it clean and new. I came in hoping to find some boots for a small person and although plentiful and a variety of decent prices, I just could not find a pair I liked. I did end up getting a cool vintage looking "Cowgirls live forever" t-shirt that has become a fun staple in my wardrobe, and had my eye on a pair of silver cowgirl boots for an upcoming birthday wish list. Making a point to warn other patrons. I was excited to come here on my trip to Dallas from Ohio. I really wanted some authentic boots and was ready to spend $500 plus on a pair. I was with my toddler and as soon as I walked in I was ignored, treated like nuisance and no one acknowledged me for help. I noticed that ine customer was given all the attention. I even mentioned at check out that I wanted to buy boots but no one wanted to help me. I was ignored. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of care the staff had for not only me but other customers in the store (besides the one lady they were paying attention to, giving her discounts and helping her find everything she needed.) As soon as I asked if they had a public bathroom I was treated even worse. I feel like I was judged based on my looks and me having a kid. I felt so degraded. Do not reccomend unless you LOOK like you have money. Such a shame. I had cash ready to buy. Sorry I don't LOOK like im filthy rich like the one customer you were giving all your attention to. Visited this store because my boyfriend wanted a cowboy hat and it was truly western in here. Smelled like real leather as soon as you walked it. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The guy running the store has been in the business for so long that he could look at your head and know exactly what size hat you wear. We were very impressed! Love this store! My sister and I were in the market for some cowboy hats to wear around town during our trip to Dallas. The employees at the store (I wish I remembered their names!) were so friendly and helpful, and really made us feel at home as we perused the store for about an hour. I did not realize that hats were pretty pricey, but luckily we went when there was a sale! I also ended up getting a belt, and the guy employee helped me put on extra belt holes in the belt because it needed a couple more. I'm a small person haha. It's the usual brands that--sorry to say--sort of suck. If I could give a negative star review I would I felt completely uncomfortable walking through that store. Me and my significant other decided to roam this store since today was our last day in Dallas Texas and it was across the street from the restaurant we were eating at. The moment we walked in we felt uncomfortable, everyone stared at us as if we didn't belong because of the color of our skin. Then the manager or coworker of the store came up to us and said "Umm can I help you guys" he said this as if he was confused on why we were even in the store. We politely told him that we were just looking thats all. Not even 15 mins later when I was looking at the purses the same man came up to us and said the same thing however, this time he really looked dumbfounded that two African American were in the store. It was clear he just wanted to rush us to get out of the store. Sadly, after the horrible experience me and my significant other were so upset we couldn't even continue to look around the store because we felt so uncomfortable. Then to top it all off that same man was near the front of the store staring us down and whispering to a female employee. It was obvious that they were talking about us because they didn't even break eye contact with us until we stepped out of that horrible store. If the owner is reading this maybe next time you should teach yourself and employees not to racially profile a person base on their skin color. Just because we're African American doesn't mean that we can't enjoy western wear also. Maybe y'all should learn some true manners and customer service. read more
