J&M leathers are beautiful-- of impressive quality. My dad wore J&M in the 70's along with Foreshiem Imperials! I would watch my dad polish and shine his shoes monthly....and my fashion forward hubby takes the exact same care of his footwear. I've known for years these are quality leather goods. If I'm not mistaken the salesman George shared that J&M began custom leather wares in the late 1860's! That's why this company gets it right.

We understand that these shoes are almost a year old, but even though this is Dallas, sandals are not worn all year long. Our understanding when buying these were that they were quality shoes that would last for a few years. I am sure that is what you would have said when selling the shoes to us right? Funny we come in and you tell us that because we got almost a year out of the shoes, nothing could be done but a "Wear Credit". So you are basically saying your shoes do not hold up a year? I guess my Louis Vuitton purse is over a year old and I should be luck it is in tact huh? You also told us that if we sent these in to corporate, we would not get a response, so corporate does not respond to their customers? You did make sure to THREATEN to call security on us if we wanted to show customers in the store these shows for their opinion. Are you going to call security on me for posting this review and I will be posting pictures....are you telling me I have no freedom of speech in this country? My $1 Old Navy Flip flops have held up better than these shoes did and I wear them everyday inside the house and often outside the house. As a female, it's important to me that I feel safe and unpressured when I'm shopping - and that I'm not manslpained to or tried to take advantage of because of it. Sneaker stores are usually run to accommodate a specific demographic, so I don't always feel welcomed as an older female. That is not the case here as I'm always greeted by a friendly face and left to peruse without pressure to purchase. Placed an order for a custom pair of boots on January 17, 2025. At the time, I was told the boots…read morewould take approximately six months to complete. It has now been roughly one year and six months, and I still do not have the boots. To Steven's credit, he has generally taken my calls, but the explanation has remained the same for months: the tops are being made, they are close, they are almost done. Unfortunately, none of those assurances have resulted in a finished product or even a clear, reliable update. Because I live out of town, I have made three separate trips to the shop to check on the order in person. Each time, I left with little confidence that anyone could clearly tell me where my boots were in the production process. On more than one occasion, it seemed difficult for them to even locate the order. I make a point of supporting small businesses whenever possible, especially craftsmen and local shops. That is why this experience has been so disappointing. Custom work can take time, and delays happen, but communication and accountability matter. After 18 months, repeated vague assurances are not enough. Based on my experience, I would caution anyone considering a custom order here. For me, this has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

After countless unreturned calls and texts, we recently ran into Steve in person. He promised the boots would be ready "this Saturday" -- but based on past experience and the fact that the shop is rarely open during posted hours, we're not holding our breath. More than anything, we just want honesty. If there are delays, say so. If the boots can't be made, tell us. What's been most frustrating is not just the wait -- it's being misled over and over. We really wanted to support a local craftsman, but this experience has been incredibly disappointing. Buyers, be cautious. UPDATE 8/2025 Well butter my biscuit--the BOOTS finally showed up! After I posted my unfavorable review, wouldn't you know it, the boots decided to dust off their saddles and mosey on in. I guess it takes a public call-out to get the wagon wheels turning over at Morris Boots Company The boots themselves? Fine enough. But let's be honest, I've seen tumbleweeds move faster than the boot maker. Next time, I'd prefer not to have to holler louder than a mama at a Little League game just to get what I paid for.
