Obviously getting a watch back then was much different. Even up to maybe 2019 pre covid it was considered somewhat easy or at least attainable. If you've ever walked into a Rolex AD or any other reputable brand alike or flagship jewelry story like Hing Wa Lee that is an AD, then this review is for you. I was never really on the hunt per se but whenever I'd walk by an AD I'd go inside and speak to a representative just to get dismissed and ultimately treated poorly and basically laughed at. For the most part everyone is on social media and I've been following Hing Wa Lee's IG for years and would chat with Chloe on there. I told her my story and stayed in contact and would refer customers over to her. She never laughed or made me feel unwanted or like I didn't matter. She'd always engage with pure and wholehearted attempt to make me feel like a respected customer. A lot of sales reps will disregard you if you're not purchasing right then and there or at the time of. Chloe was different and I knew it immediately. I'm in sales myself and running a large operation so dealing with Chloe was an amazing and refreshing experience to say the least. Fast forward about 4 years and I got a call for a timepiece I couldn't say no to. I went to this location a few weeks ago where Chloe greeted me (first time meeting in person) and it's like we already knew each other. David speaks fluent English and Cantonese. I think some Vietnamese as well. His mom for sure speaks Cantonese and Vietnamese. They're both very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Let them know what you're looking for and they'll have recommendations for you! RESELLING JEWELRY David was very honest with me. I had some loose stones and he let me know there's not much anyone can do with them. I also had a ring that he identified as fake gold so it was pretty much junk lol. For some earrings that were 18k, he told me that there wasn't much gold (they were small) and because of that I would not get much resale value. Most of the value was really in the labor of making the pieces. I told him the main reason I was looking to sell was because they were white gold and I preferred yellow gold. He suggested I see his colleague at Focus Plaza and get them rhodium plated instead. (And I did for $20, see pics!) CLEANING Nothing to add, he cleaned my engagement ring so it was nice and shiny again. REPAIRING Great! His repairman soldered my necklace back together. The clasp snapped off but it was an easy fix. The first time we didn't bring my jade and other items, just chat with Mr. David and found out that he is a very knowledgeable and experienced master with Jade, diamond and other gemstones with so many years hands on experiences. So I made my decision to bring my jade, diamond and ruby to him the next visit. Mr. David is very professional and knowledgeable. He explains every item's details from the look to the test results from his professional examination equipment. Also showed us the similar item both in fake and real in his own collections to teach us the difference between the fake one and nature stone. For my real diamond, he counted the whole one and melees very carefully and gave the most precise appraise price, and also the current retail price. He also gave me the advice on not to change the diamond ring's base and the reason behind this, and help us to clean the item with the professional tool. Mr. David is a very fun person to chat as well, it's really fascinating to hear some of the stories from the master who has been trough a lot. We are glad to find the Pro like Mr. David in this field in LA area with all the strong knowledge and vivd personality.
