This review is long overdue! It's been over a decade since I last seen a dentist. It was only when I became pregnant and that started affecting my dental health did I seek care (gums started to bleed). My significant other did a lot of research and we ended up with Dr. Tsegay and it's been a great experience! I was nervous at first, making my first appearance in a dental office after so long, but the staff and Dr. Tsegay made me feel comfortable! I had a deep cleaning to start, 4 of my wisdom tooth extracted (this stopped the bleeding I was experiencing), regular cleanings every 6 months, number 2 tooth extracted (I think that is the number haha), fixed cracked fillings, and replaced a crown! I am moving out of the city so will no longer be able to continue my dental care at this office, which is a loss to me! I trust Dr. Tsegay and only hope I can find another that will take care of me like they surely have. With that said, I highly recommend this place! read more

Came to Dr.Tsegay as a new patient and I have not been to dentist in a really long time so I was nervous. Called to schedule an appointment and you can confirm your appointment through text (during Covid i find this extremely convenient because a lot of other places would call you instead). Went in for my consultation, ALL THE LADIES in the office are super nice and helpful, it was my first time using dental insurance and they were really patient with me and explained to me how the treatment plan and the pricing would go. It was during Halloween so i got a dental goodie bag and a candy bag :) After my consultation, I went in 2 days later for my deep cleaning and fixed my chipped tooth lol ( Dr.Tsegay took about 15 mins and fixed it.. And I'm amazed by the results, mind you I had the chipped tooth for over 10 years. I can finally smile smile :D ) Will be back soon for other things that needs to be done && thank you read more

I've been hesitating to leave a negative review for about 6 months. I want to give a business the benefit of the doubt and give them an opportunity to fix things. I had a similar experience to the other reviewer (Presley). The dentist convinced me I should have all my silver fillings replaced. She did one whole side in one visit in less than 1.5 hours (if not 1 hour). First red flag. During the procedure the numbing started wearing off and the dentist nicked my tongue with one of the tools. I didn't say anything because I have a pretty high pain tolerance. But when she finished, she told me I bit my tongue. Second red flag. There were multiple areas where she did the fillings that were protruding and sharp. She didn't do a good job polishing. When I went home, one of those protruding areas chipped off. Third red flag. I had to come back for an adjustment I was having pain in three areas. When I told her about the area that chipped off, she tapped around all the fillings and one of the other fillings broke. Fourth red flag. A tooth that never bothered me before I went to this place was hurting after multiple visits for adjustments. She never did an X-ray or an exam to see what could be wrong. I reached out to a friend who is also a dentist for advice and was told I should have the filling redone. I mentioned this to the dentist and she brushed it off. So, after multiple visits and of her doing the same thing (grinding off more filling material and even my own natural teeth), she said come back in 6 months and if it's still bothering you, you should visit the endodontist. Good thing I didn't wait 6 months. I found another dentist. Had the filling redone (removing filling and replacing it took an hour). My new dentist did a thorough exam to figure out if I indeed need a root canal from the endodontist or not. Turns out replacing the filling and doing a good job fixed the problem. I would be wary of any work done from this practice. I'm glad I listened to my gut and did not get work done on the other side of my mouth. I am disappointed that I gave this place so many chances. read more

I am a new patient after my original dentist since I was a child retired it was kind of hard for me to locate a new dentist and plus I am picky. My orthodontist recommended me to come here due to the fact it's in the same building. I love everything about my visit. I came in for a x-ray so I can get my wisdom teeth removed. The front desk staff were very pleasant, helpful, and nice. I guess Dr. Tsegay's assistant or nurse who did the cleaning of my teeth she was nice. Dr. Tsegay took the initiative to look over all of my teeth to insure that I have healthy teeth I have like 4 fillings that are outdated, she took pics from the inside of my mouth to show me what needs to be done by her first before I go ahead and get my surgery. THAT is what I liked about her she makes sure to educate you on your own teeth instead of just telling you what's wrong and sending you on your way. I booked my appointment for the 3rd week of June so yes, I will be returning and I recommend anyone to go see her. WARNING: I wish I could leave a half star. This place messed my teeth up horribly. I came in to get my fillings redone and wish I never found this place because the damage they did is done. First, the receptionist repeatedly kept coming to the back and stopping the dentist (who is in the middle of working on me, mouth wide open) talking and joking loudly with her about her day..? I was so confused by her being so nonchalant and being unprofessional while I was in the middle of a procedure. The tool she used to grind my teeth down before the filling hurt, it was like a very aggressive sander and i was scared she was going to break my tooth. came back after this to get my other fillings done and my teeth hurt even worse. I complained to the doctor and she just told me to take ibuprofen?? You could tell there was something seriously wrong with my teeth and the doctor made it knowingly even worse and didn't try to fix the issue at all. Went here after having this dentist recommended by a friend. First appointment was a brief evaluation where the dentist told me i needed to have 4 old fillings redone. Only 2 were bothering me, but she said to do all 4 since they were old, 2 on each side of my mouth, bottom teeth. 3 days before the appointment to get the fillings redone I called to see if they could do all 4 in the same visit, so I won't miss more work, receptionist said yes, no problem. The day of my appointment after the assistant has me ready to start the dentist comes and ask her which side are they doing, the assistant says both and the dentist seems surprised and not too happy abou it, then the assistant mentioned I'm going with silver fillings and then again the dentist looks unhappy to hear that. Dentist asked me why not white fillings and I mentioned since I'm paying out of pocket this is more affordable for me, to this she makes a face and tell me they are going to start. I had mentioned to her previously that I have dental anxiety, however she seem not to care for my anxiety and workEd really fast on me. Seemed she was in a rush and was/ felt like she was kinda rough at times. She did the 4 fillings in about 1hr, including removing the old 4 fillings and walked away 2 times and left her assistant working on me. When she was done, I was not sure if she had just walked away again, but she didn't come back and her assistant finished and told me they were done. To be honest her assistant was more pleasant and felt more professional than the actual dentist. I had to go back 2 times after that since like other people mentioned here, one of my fillings was too high, 1st time the dentist " adjusted or drill" the filling a bit, but 1st she drillEd on one filling I didn't mentioned any problems. The she barely touched the one I told her felt too high and seemed to get upset when I questioned if one of the fillings was okay when I mentioned it looked and felt off. A few days later I went back for the same reason, this time only her assistant worked me. She listen to what was bothering me and carefully drilled the correct area that felt to high on the filling. That time I was there I didn't see the dentist at all. I appreciate the assistant and professionalism, however the dentist is rude and condescending. p.s; the one of the teeth that was originally bothering me and that i had mentioned to the dentist it didn't feel right still hurts on and off after 3 weeks, already made an appointment with a new dentist. read more

Following up on my last review, after receiving another bill for $300 because Lula's team could not figure out how to bill my insurance correctly. They made sure everything would be covered before my procedure and sent me out this collection letter months later. They said if I came into the office they could "help me with the payment". LOL they just wanted any amount of money they could get as possible after completely ruining my whole entire mouth. Then she responds to my review with "oh sorry we didn't meet your expectations" I'm sorry, what?? You literally are a crooked dentist that should have her license revoked and its disgusting that you have no care for peoples long term health as long as you make a little money. No one enjoys going to a dentist, but I know in going into Dr. Tsegay's office I will receive compassionate dental care done in a timely manner. Dr. Tsegay understands that I have anxiety issues about dental procedures and talks me through getting Novocain injections by simply telling me to breathe. Who does that? Only a caring professional who can meet the needs of her patients. At 71 years of age I feel like receiving a lollipop and ballon when leaving the office, because I sat through my procedure without me bolting for the door. I tried this dentist as she has great reviews, upon my yeary check up i was told I needed quite a bit of work to replace older fillings. I had this work completed but was experiencing pain in two teeth. I had to go back multiple times to try to resolve this and was eventually referred to an endodontist. Another dentist was able to properly fix the tooth for me. No root canal required. This experience has resurrected my dental anxiety of which I thought I was cured. Do not recommend. read more

I gravitated towards this dentist after reading all the good reviews they had on Yelp. Needless to say their time management needs improvement. I called to make an appointment. They were really nice and had an appointment available for the next day at 2 in which I agreed. They requested that I text them my insurance info the day before my appt which I did. I printed and filled out the forms needed, so that I did not have to fill them out when I got to my appt. When I came to my appt two patients came after me and were seen before me. By now it's 2:20 and the dentist is still attending to the other patient. I asked the assistant if this was normal that they set up appts and run behind. She goes on to say that they had to make sure my insurance was current and that was why it was taking long. By then I grew impatient because I sent my insurance information a day before like they requested. I then decided that this was not the dentistry for my family and I.
