I was finally able to book an appointment! From the initial phone call, you could tell customer service for them is key! The lady on the phone was very professional and courteous. I provided my information and she was able to locate my member number since they are within my network. At my appointment I was welcomed with a smile by couple of staff members. That made me fell welcomed and at ease. Since this was my first appointment it involved completing paperwork, taking X-rays, a comprehensive exam by the Dr. Angeles herself, including an oral cancer screening. After Dr. Angeles then discusses her findingsrecommended treatment plan. I have my next appointment October 17th and since the initial visit went well. Judith Angeles has been my family's dentist for the past 10 years. My whole family goes here and couldn't be happier to have Judith (Dr. Angeles) and Justine (Dr. Pasalo) as our dentists. My mom has a severe blood cancer and always has to check with her doctors before she can have anything done at the dentist and Judith and her team always coordinate & communicate with them to ensure she is safe for whatever treatment plan needed. I personally have always had incredibly bad anxiety around visiting the dentist and in the time I've spent going to Judith's, I've learned to actually enjoy my cleanings and dentist visits without being worried about what's happening. The office is located in a very convenient area with ample parking. Check-in is incredibly easy and I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to been seen. Bonus - the waiting room has a massage chair! The office is incredibly clean throughout and the aroma is never the weird clinical smell but an inviting and welcoming experience. Each chair is incredibly comfortable and has a tv to watch something on to distract yourself or entertain yourself during your appointment. All of the staff are extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. They will explain things as many times as needed and have a separate room to discuss treatment plans as well, keeping your privacy while giving you a bunch of time to review the treatment plans and ask questions or inquire about the different costs of treatment. Referrals are also super easy there. Both my mom and aunt have had to see specialists for braces, crowns/more invasive surgical procedures and have had the best experience connecting with referred providers. As I've grown into an adult & off my mom's insurance, Judith's team were very explanatory about costs for non-insurance treatment as well as informing me which insurances they can accept, etc. There's no judgment about having or not having insurance. Lastly, every interaction I've had, from phone calls and texts to check on the patient or confirm new appointments has been wonderful and not just an automated system - you get to speak to a real person, which I find lovely nowadays. I recommend Judith and her team to anyone of any ages. Really a fantastic dentistry run by a family of passionate dentists. Between family, school friends, and even people I've met in my daily work like, I know about a dozen people who are patients of Judith's and love it there. I figured I'd get my teeth cleaned since they are close to work! 1st I uploaded insurance info thru the site, to only a couple weeks later to hear we cant find your info on the state wide search. Finally they said they received a fax confirming, I go to the scheduled appoint. were they proceeded to take x-ray, and a ton of still photos. Then I began hearing "If we have time to do the cleaning" mind you...it's 9:30am They then told me in addition to my very good coverage I'd have to pay 179.00 out of pocket, In addition to my insurance being billed 497.00 for a ton of images! With this same insurance I've never had to pay out of pocket, for the exact same services. More over...I've never went to a dentist for a cleaning and didn't get one! I may have payed the 179.00 when I asked can you bill it, the answer was NO Never have to worry about me coming there again! Just heard from my insurer.. Who said they shouldnt have tried charging me anything out of pocket! read more

Where has Dr.Pasalo been all my life!!! She's is the best dentist I have ever come across in all my years of getting dental done. She thoroughly explains every step she takes in ensuring what is being done to my tooth, how they'll fix anything, recommendations and most of all the COMFORTABILITY. She always adds her input and suggestions which I HIGHLY respect. And her voice!! I focus hard on not falling asleep because her voice is so relaxing! It really helps calm your nerves. I was about to get my whole mouth numb and told her how nervous I was, she checked my teeth and said she could probably just number the top because the bottom cavity wasn't too bad. She also told me the pain level wouldn't be severe but I can raise my hand if it's uncomfortable. She would stop a minute in just to ask if it hurt at all to ensure I was comfortable. Saved me from another shot! How great is that! In addition, her assistant Valarie is so great at doing her part. You know that SpongeBob meme where it's a picture of SpongeBob with water in his mouth and it says when the assistant leave you there lol. No Valarie is great! At my previous dental places the dentist would leave the suction hanging there in my mouth or the assistant wouldn't be doing a thurough job and I'd just choke on the water, but Valarie makes sure im never left hanging and always asks if I'm doing ok giving me the chance to ask any questions. She would also make a great dentist in the future! I also really like the fact that Dr. pasalo is very kind to everyone, I know many dentist who treat their assistants poorly & are very condescending but Dr.Pasalo is very kind to her staff and speaks in a tone of voice where you are equal as her. Love that Front staff is also amazing, I forgot but a young white girl w glasses is also great, she thoroughly explains my bills and whatever I have left to pay. Angeles dental care has great service, it's really a top-notch facility with top-of-the-line equipment. But if you are getting anything more than basic maintenance, then be prepared to pay out of pocket. I wasn't expecting to have to come out of pocket at all for my services (I needed a deep cleaning and a fill). I had to come out of pocket over $200 before services, but I said OK, it is what it is, I'll take that. But when I got ready to come back for my maintenance, I was told that the insurance misquoted them on the price for my services, so I have a bill for $360 that I have to pay before I would be seen for my appt. I said umm, WHAT?!?How? Wow and I just left. Pretty disappointing and disgusting. I still get the bill of course and of course I'm looking for another dentist. Buyer beware. read more

Just finished my appointment with this dental office and all I have to say is that my experience was THE BEST. Dr. Pasalo was phenomenal! She let me know what she was doing every step of the way and informed me on what she was communicating with the dental assistant, Liz (who is amazing; by the way! Her kindness, knowledge and hospitality was awesome!). I felt taken care of and like I've been a patient under Dr. Pasalo for years - that's how much they care and how comfortable they make you feel. I went to this dentist, as she was an in-network dentist in my insurance plan. I was charged $464, even though I told them that as an in-network provider they could bill my insurance directly. I was informed that they were told by my insurance provider that dental was a reimburseable expense, so I paid the $464 with my credit card. When I filed a claim to my insurance for reimbursement of the $464, it was denied. Instead, the dental office was asked to file for the services; which was later determined to be $191 instead of $464. These all happened on June 17th; and until I checked today, July 31, for why my claim was not being processed, I wasn't made aware of what had happened. When I called the dental office, she did acknowledge what had happened and was informed that a check refund for the $464 was going to be mailed within this week. When I asked if they could instead refund my credit card that was used to pay, I was told that a check will be mailed. So, not only was I charged $464 upfront, when I shouldn't have; and I was charged a lot more than their contractual agreement with my insurance provider, I will have to wait for the check refund in the mail. And by the way, a supposedly deep cleaning of my teeth, took less than 10 minutes. My previous regular cleanings with other service providers were at least 30 minutes. I cancelled my next appointment and will be looking for another dental provider. read more

About 3 years ago I was self-employed with no dental insurance and I wanted to get my teeth checked out/ cleaned because it had been quite some time. I went in for my first appointment, expecting to get my teeth cleaned (like every other dentist appointment I had ever had), but all they did is take X-Rays and measure my gumline. I got charged around $400, was told that I needed to spend $1800 on fillings, and that they could not do a cleaning until that was done. They also said nobody will clean my teeth without this inspection first and fillings done. Fast forward to last week, I have insurance now so I went to a different office. No cavities or fillings needed, and they cleaned my teeth. From the other reviews, it seems like the dental work here is just fine, but I had a such a terrible experience I care enough to post about it 3 years later. I just got back from a visit to Angeles Dental Care. It was a great experience compared to places I've been in the past. The entire team was welcoming and friendly. We started with a tour of the office and introductions to the staff and then we got down to business and started with the x-rays. The hygienist had a little bit of trouble getting the right angles but was quick to grab someone with more experience so that they didn't have to reshoot a bunch of times and give me unnecessary radiation exposure. When the dentist came in after x-rays she was sure to explain my dental situation to me and used a camera to show me areas of concern inside my mouth. I had a few fillings that are about to need replacing and they showed me exactly what they looked like and where they were and made sure I understood the results of the x-rays. The dentist was very quick and professional when working hands-on, she was able to get gum depth readings in short order with almost no discomfort. When the sonic tool used to remove plaque was hurting me they finished out the rest of my teeth and used the metal tools on that spot. For the fillings, I am opting for sedation which they don't handle so they referred me to an endodontist in San Francisco to get that done. Overall, I am thrilled with the high level of care taken and the attention to every detail at their practice and look forward to my next visit to see how much my situation has improved. read more

I have been coming here since 2017(ish) and have had a wonderful experience. My husband and I have been seeing dr. Hong who has now left the practice. I got to see dr. Angeles today and it went just as great. Each staff member feels genuinely friendly. I never felt like I was being sold on something (which is why I left a few practices). There is no guilt tripping or pressure on teeth maintenance. Just gentle encouragement. My anxiety with going to the dentist has gotten higher and higher over the years just due to how my body responds to the sensitivity in my mouth but after conveying my concern to dr. Angeles, she went above and beyond with making me comfortable during a cleaning and filling and it is greatly appreciated. These little things will keep me coming back and referring them for years to come! And I have to say they are doing a stellar job at making it feel very clean and safe in this weird COVID world we currently live in. I witness the receptionist actually clean the pens thoroughly. I always doubted businesses actually paid too close attention to the clean/dirty pen routine but they do here. They have you wait in the comfort of your car and text you to enter when it's safe. We usually see Dr Angeles but when making the appointments, the receptionist made sure to inform me that on the day I wanted Dr Angeles wouldn't be in the office. She asked if we minded seeing 2 associate dentists, Dr Sun and Dr. Bach. Both were wonderful and we felt well cared for. I had a small filling fix which was explained well. I was given the option of doing it during our visit which was great. That staff explained the financial cost and options clearly, another plus. The practice is attentive to the new normal during COVID and take appropriate and thorough precautions. We felt very safe going! I highly recommend Dr. Pasalo for various reasons. I had a cleaning done and because of the permanent retainers behind my front and back teeth, there tends to be a small degree of build up around them. Previous dentists tended to be pretty heavy handed and caused some trauma to my gums. However Dr. Pasalo was incredibly thorough and gentle. My mouth felt so clean! In addition, she also noticed I needed to have one of my old fillings done years ago. From injecting anesthesia to finishing up the filling, I felt no pain. During this time, Dr. Pasalo kept checking in to see how I was doing. Dr. Pasalo and her staff are professional and efficient. Usually I hate going to the dentist, but my experience here has been nothing short of pleasant. I was new to the Bay Area 2-3 years ago when I found this dentist office. At the time, Dr. Hong took care of me and was very thorough with what was going on inside my mouth. The staff was friendly and super helpful. Fast forward to 2020, I got Dr. Angeles and she was just as pleasant to work with! I appreciated how she took the time to explain to me everything that went on. She has a great staff as well. Interacted with live human beings for the first time in over year, and if the service at this place is what has become standard in the world, I welcome it. I was reluctant to come at first, being that I hadn't been vaccinated yet, and nothing about my teeth warranted an immediate dentist's visit. But the receptionist Sam did a great job of dispelling any fears of COVID-19 by walking me through their strenuous procedure of keeping everyone safe as possible over phone. When I came in person, she was a glowing personality that was as welcoming as she was over the phone. Dr. Quyen Bach was my dentist who helped me out. She was super cool, answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable. She was also really gentle with my teeth and took great care of me! This review is for Dr. Quyen Bach! I came in with a chipped tooth that previously had a filling that was too transparent (see before photo). Dr. Bach was able to repair my tooth flawlessly by matching the filing exactly to my teeth color and taking her time to file/shape them nicely. I did not know it was possible to sculpt my teeth like that until I met with Dr. Bach! She is amazing at what she does and the results in the before and after photos speak for themselves! I can no longer tell that there was a chip there because it looks so natural! Throughout the entire process, she handled everything with care and I did not feel rushed at all. Find another Dentist. They will miss lead you to max out your dental benefits. If you have Delta Dental benefits. BEWARE. Don't be fooled by them.! My crown fell out from an implant that was placed in 2014 by another dentist. I bought a home in San Leandro and found Dr. Angel's office. I was happy because it was close to home. During the pandemic...I went in for an appointment because my crown fell off and I needed her to put it back on. When dr Bach looked at the implant. she proceeded to tell me that I did not have an abutment for my implant. (This was a lie) I was so upset. She told me I should contact the other dentist and ask why I don't have an abutment. She started to work on my crown and put it back on my implant. Once it was done I walked out and my bite did not feel right. The tooth was much higher than normal. When I would bite down my bite was off and it was very uncomfortable, I did not understand why. So I walked in and advised them it feels off and uncomfortable. They brought me back and she started to file/Drill down my implant crown? I did not understand why she would do that. But I trusted her. Once it was done and the bite felt ok I left. The implant crown fit in my mouth perfectly before she filed it down. 14 days later the crown fell off again and during that time I contacted my previous implant surgeon who did my implant and asked them if the abutment was placed and they said "yes". It turns out that the previous dentist From San Francisco did do everything the right way. I was upset that Dr. Bach lied to me and told me they did not place the abutment. I called the office and went back in because the crown fell off again. When I came in I advised them that I did have my abutment and the tooth was off again. Doctor Bach then told me that she used Teflon tape in order to place my implant crown back on the implant. I was in shock. (Teflon tape is used for plumbing) Why would you use Teflon tape to place my crown? And I also asked why would you file down a perfectly good crown? That did not make sense to me. Then Dr. Bach proceeded to tell me that she will have to make me a new crown now because it was damaged and I would have to pay out-of-pocket for it. I was beyond upset, Dr. Bach was wrong for using Teflon tape and filing down a perfectly good crown. All she had to do was cement the crown back onto the implant, not use Teflon tape and destroy a perfectly good crown. Also lying to me about my implant surgeon not placing an abutment. Mind you I have Delta dental insurance, this practice would rather max out your insurance and make your dental problems larger than what they really are so they can get money from you. This practice is a scam. They just want your money instead of doing the right thing to fix or solve your dental problem. Dr. Angels would rather go the expensive route to make an extra buck. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Dr. Bach's is dishonest and they lie to you and they do not tell you what they are doing in your mouth, for example teflon tape. Dr Bach cemented my crown to the abatement and it only lasted one week in my mouth.Unfortunately I swallowed the crown while eating. I had to get used to having a bolt sticking out of my gums till this day because I was traumatized from this dental practice. Also there is a Caucasian woman that is a dental assistant there. I don't remember her name but I do remember that she was rushing Dr. Hong when he was working on my mouth. Pressuring him to hurry up because she was hungry and she wanted her lunch. She was pressuring him with a bad attitude and rushing the process and being rough and impatient while constantly scoffing. Response to Judith's comment on this post. You state that Dr. Bach is genuine and caring? What? By miss leading her patients and not explaining what she is doing, using Teflon tape to place an implant crown? Then destroying a perfectly good crown by shaving it down. Wow that's really caring about her patients. Dr. Angels you know Exactly what I'm talking about because this incident really happened. You say you "care about your patients." I am one of your patients. YOU HAVE NOT RECTIFIED OR EVEN APOLOGIZED. You had your morning meeting discussing the plans for the patients that day. That's what Dr. Bach told me. Can you explain to me how Dr. Bach had any Integrity or honesty in my case, since you say that she cares about her patients. You and your friends on here can say that you're honest. But you and your colleagues actions speak louder than words. read more

This place is great! Entire staff was friendly and helpful. I had an extraction done a few days ago and the dentist and assistant was very calming. I had explained that I was scared and had anxiety. They walked me thru the process and made sure I was comfortable. The Dr. Even called the next day to check up on me. I have been coming here for years and highly recommend them.
