Pretty tasty place. Our group of Yelpers came here today after dinner nearby. All of their dessert cocktails looked great but I opted for the double chocolate peanut butter pie, which was delicious. It's a little expensive, it was about $7.50 for a medium-ish slice of pie, but I love anything peanut butter so it was worth it. I was impressed that they sat us right away, we had a group of 12 people or so and the place is not that big. They have regular drinks like wine and beer if dessert isn't your thing, but most of the people in our group either ordered dessert or dessert martinis. I would come here again when in the area, they also have a list of rotating specials and you can see those desserts in the glass case in the front of the restaurant. read more

My friend and i were so excited to try Lulu's for the first time. It was a very cold day last Saturday in the 30's degree temperature. They made us wait outside for over 30 minutes while there were a lot of empty tables inside the restaurant. The hostess insisted that she could not sit us even though we said we are happy to just sit and wait. To make things worse, when we finally sat down, she gave water to a couple who came in after us and completely ignored us. She knew we were there waiting for a very long time in the freezing weather, but she obviously didn't care. We were really upset and just horrified about how poorly they treated us. There are so many choices in Savannah. We will never come back here. read more

Who doesn't love dessert and chocolate?!? In my opinion, Lulu's is 'better than sex'. They have a full cocktail menu to include fun dessert martinis and drinks. They always have a full array of cakes and cheesecakes. But the best thing in the menu is the chocolate covered strawberries in dark and white chocolate. Soooo good. Food was ok. I got the carrot cake and liked it, but my friend got the chocolate moose tower and we were expecting it to be a tower obviously. But it came not even 2 inches tall. Disappointing. Wow . Blown away by this dessert place . You can put your name on the waitlist with yelp which I definitely recommend doing . We arrived at 10:40 and this place was packed ! However we were seated in 20 minutes . There's so many goodies on the menu ! But we ordered the trio of creme brûlée and chocolate mousse to share . All the three creame brûlée's were beyond delicious , melt in your mouth , rich and creamy ! The chocolate mousse was soo light and velvety. You can sit at the counter or be crammed into a jammed packed space and seating area. The service was very good I just say and that's why I provided so many stars. Everyone is friendly and provide great service. Dessert tastes very much the opposite of freshly made. It tastes almost like it's store bought and stuffed into a refrigerator case. My cheesecake was to die for if you enjoy good cheesecake, it was dense and had a decadent chocolate layer on the bottom with chocolate chips spread throughout. My girlfriends strawberry suspense cake tasted good and very light and airy, but im not a huge cake person so dont take my word for it. Rude manager. We walked in 1028 pm. Sign on door says closes at 1100 pm. Hostess, who was very nice, said she had to ask manager if we could be seated. Manager would not even look up at us and said emphatically no. Hostess apologized. We said closing is at 1100 and we just waned deserts. She recommended we take it to go. Can someone say happy hour! it doesn't get any better than this. This is a great place to come before or after dinner. The drink selection was amazing and all the drinks looked yummy. After much deliberation I finally settled on the pumpkin martini. I don't even like pumpkin pie in real life but it all came together quite nicely in the form of a martini. The crust on the martini glass was very good and I licked it right off the glass. The pumpkin martini was delicious it was really really good I would come back here for another one next time I'm in Savannah. I also highly recommend the Woodford bourbon Bellini. It had Woodford bourbon, peach liquor, and champagne. The bourbon gave it a nice punch and the champagne made it light and crisp. I might have to replace the traditional mimosa with this drink! This bar has top ratings and has been voted as having the Best Wait Staff and Best Martini. It has also won the Best Desserts in Savannah award for 14 years in a row! I had the triple chocolate mousse cake and the white-chocolate dipped strawberry, as well as a dessert wine that was infused with dark chocolate. We opted for takeout and each got a slice of cake. The strawberry suspension cake was light and fluffy. Inside were two strawberries and a light cream. It wasn't as chocolate-y as I was expecting, so if you're looking for a heavier cake, you may wish to consider a different option. My friend got the vanilla layer cake with vanilla buttercream, and it was very sweet. I liked the texture of the frosting but you definitely want to split this cake with someone else. Each slice was ~$10, which is on the higher side of what I would've paid. They do accept credit cards. Single occupant restrooms are available in the back. I like that it's locally owned. We stopped in to kill sometime in our way to the Savannah Music Festival. The inside of the dessert bar is very nicely decorated, cute and cozy. Contrary to the name, Lulu's serves more than just chocolate desserts. As you walk in you can see the delicious cakes, pies, cheesecakes, brownies and other items they offer. At first we attempted to sit outside but it was a little too hot for us, so the waitress was patient with us as we moved back inside. Once inside we ordered the crème brûlée trio, a slice of strawberry cheesecake and 3 martinis; dreamsicle, white chocolate pomegranate and pineapple upside down. Our desserts were good, nothing spectacular. If I came back I would order the cheesecake again. Two of our three drinks were not good. One of my friends really liked her Dreamsicle, however the White Chocolate Pomegranate tasted nothing like white chocolate and my Pineapple Upside Down tasted just like cough medicine, not pleasant at all. Besides the drinks, everything else was good, including the service. Not sure I would make it a priority to stop here again with the other drink and dessert options Savannah has to offer. read more

Location: This chocolate bar is located in the center of the city. Parking: The bar does not have parking, so you have to park on the street or at any paid parking area nearby. Service: The attention was incredible. The waiter really knew the menu and everything he recommended was delicious. Food quality: This is a dessert place, we ordered a key lime martini, lulutini martini, and pecan pie and it was the best drinks and dessert. I have nothing more to say than any dessert or drink you try would be delicious.  Price: The prices are excellent considering the quality. We spent around $30 on 2 martinis and a dessert. Lulu's desserts never disappoint. Martinis were good, but if I'm being honest, needed a bit more of a punch. Just didn't taste the alcohol and wasn't sure if it was in there or not... Service was prompt considering their current staffing woes. For a bit more of a nighttime mood, the lights could stand to be dimmed a bit . Otherwise, satisfied with our experience. We waited 30 minutes at our table with no service as staff leaned on the counter and ignored us and other customers. Our friend who lives in Savannah said unfortunately this is the 2nd time this has 7 she was hoping it was just a fluke, but apparently not. If you want desert, and want a lot of it, GO HERE. Their desert is pretty fantastic, one of the best in tow! If you go on a Saturday night expect at least a ten minute wait but it's well worth the wait. All of their deserts are made fresh and are super tasty! They even have a pretty large and interesting drink menu. We got the white chocolate oreo cheesecake which was probably my favorite. It was so smooth and had little bits of Oreo which put a nice little crunch to it that paired very well. We also got the German chocolate cake which looked fantastic but to me it wasn't quite as moist as it looked. Very soft and had good flavor but I would've called it a little on the dryer side, maybe just not a good night for it. Food wise this place gets 5 stars but I have to give them 4 due to the service. I get it the place looked busy but we waited atleast 10 minutes at our table before anyone would serve us. Once we were waited on we waited another 10 minutes to get our waters and a coffee while the people beside us had their treat brought out and refills, and nearly finished before we got our drinks. But I get it, it can get hectic. Definitely come give it a try tho, the two times we've came here that was the only not so great experience so don't let that steer you away! Getting here was an adventure in itself, but once we almost gave up on Google and used common sense we were excoted to find out it was across the street from our hotel, ironically enough. Lulu's is a cute little bar that also happens to be a great dessert shop as well. Since we had spent the day walking all over Historic Savannah, we decided to get our desserts to go. My friend decided to try the Praline Pecan Pie, while opted for one of my favorite indulgences, the White Chocolate Raspberry Creme Brule. The young lady behind the bar quickly packaged up our order and we settled our check. We then headed back across the wet streets of Savannah to our hotel so we could jump into our jammies and enjoy our late night snacks. I can't speak for my friend and her pie, but my creme brule was served with a pretty orchid on top as garnish. Almost to pretty to eat... almost. That first bight was so creamy and smooth. Everything you come to expect from a delicious creme brule. I really hope to stay and enjoy some drinks and get the opportunity to try their suspension cake next time I am in town. This place was very disappointing, I'd grab food to go from here, but I don't recommend dining in. The service was painfully slow and it wasn't even packed. Not to mention we had the simplest order- black coffee, a piece of cake, a brownie, and 1 martini. I will say the cappuccino brownie was excellent (and it kept well in the fridge so I could enjoy it twice.) The milky way martini was just two much sugar for me (plus it's a kinda thick martini which I wasn't expecting). After stuffing our faces at the Vault Kitchen and practically rolling out of there, my friends and I headed to Lulu's for dessert, because that was part of the plan and my friends and I are no quitters! My friends had been here before, so I was the newbie. Oh, Lulu, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Parking - We were sooo lucky to get street parking a block over. Vibe - We got there late at night, maybe 10/1030ish? The hostess stand was outside, so we were greeted upon approaching the doorway. There was a bit if a wait, so we asked if we could wait at the bar since it was a little chilly (what's been up with Savannah weather lately?!). The hostess said that we could not and that there were strict laws of capacity, so we had to wait outside. I was a bit disappointed about that, since it was uncomfortable waiting in the cold, but whatcha gonna do. Laws are laws, right? Luckily, the wait did not end up being too long. When we walked inside, the lighting was dim. We were seated front and center of the treats case which was the brightest thing in the whole place and that's all that matters, right?! What we ate/drank - I started with the Chai Latte due to my friend's recommendation. It was absolutely delicious, but my only complaint is that it had too much foam and not enough actual chai latte. I'll just remember to ask for no foam next time! Then...ugh...I had to make the paaaaaaainful decision between the Strawberry Suspension Cake or the Flourless Torte (because of some of the reviews) and I finally went with the former as all my friends at the table had had that one and loved it. Honestly, how could I go wrong? Well, it was the perfect dessert to fill in the remaining gaps and holes in my stomach left from dinner. It was just the right amount of sweet. It's a moist, chocolate cake and in the middle is this amazing layer of filling made of mascarpone cheese and chunks of strawberries with the cake has a coating of chocolate ganache and a strawberry garnish. I was officially full! I also took a piece of Peanut Butter Pie to go for my husband because I'm just the sweetest wife ever! And then the next day, I was just waiting for him to crack that container open and can you believe he waited 2 days to finally eat it?! Well, good thing I stole a bite the night before because he wolfed that piece down when I was completely distracted. Sigh. So all that to say, that that piece of pie was the bomb too! It was so smooth! Pricing - It's definitely on the pricier side because those three items cost me almost as much as my share of the bill at the Vault and we had a ton of food (just go read my previous review). However, it was still money I didn't mind spending there since they offer quality. Service - Our waitress was very attentive and kept us very well informed throughout the night and I really appreciate that. So you don't wonder why she hasn't come back in awhile. Is it something I said? This was definitely an awesome ending to our evening. Every space in my belly had been filled and my friends and I had some great laughs, so Mission Accomplished. Lulu's has possibly the best desserts overall in Savannah, which is really saying something. It's quite likely that yes, you'll find something at The Grey or elsewhere that is more innovative or seasonal, but Lulu's can be counted on to always have a real diversity of options, some tried and true favorites, and be of high quality. They also have one of the best charcuterie boards with a good selection of cheeses to choose from in the entire city--their dijon mustard and olives that come with the board are top-notch, too. I'm not sure many people are aware of this, but it's a boon to find because it goes great with beer or wine and is a smart choice if you're actually a bit hungry and your friends want drinks or desserts. Their drinks, especially the bloody Marys and the dessert cocktails are excellent. The staff is sweet and upbeat though sometimes get overwhelmed with the demand when it gets busy, so prepare to wait for your check or else kindly go up and ask for it. As for the actual famous desserts, the flourless chocolate torte can't be beat, nor can the coconut rum cake.
