Growing up in Seattle, Luly Yang was the first place we went to try on dresses. I was a bit nervous as I usually have a hard time finding dresses that fit perfectly and my mom is super judgmental. Meg and Stephanie greeted us and were so nice and welcoming. We tried on a few dresses and they really set the bar in regards to the fit, material and customer service. We had a few other appointments already set for the week, so I wanted to wait to see those appointments through before deciding and they were so understanding. (We had other studios who really tried to pressure us to purchase day of-even offering discounts). Another plus was there was no fitting fee to try on the dresses - unlike all the other studios we went to. We did end up coming back and getting my dress at Luly Yang. They were amazing through the whole process and they work with you through each step. I loved being able to design my dress and pick out the materials. Luly was also there to help make the dress look perfect and Mei was amazing with alterations. I can't wait to have to another opportunity to work with them in the future! read more

My experience was so so and then I met FATIMA, shortly after she was hired, at first I fell in love with her beautiful French accent then we created a relationship and I saw her beauty inside out. She truly transformed my experience. My dress went from a beautiful vision to a reality. It was absolutely perfect, everything about it. I learned and felt the love and intention that Luly puts behind each design. My dress became mine and more special when Luly told me what she liked about my dress. She, herself, is so inspiring, a beautiful and authentic, powerful, and strong woman with incredible style. Not only my dress, I loved my veil and each part of my dress- Luly and her team were patient with my particular requests and perfect desires. The shop itself smells amazing! The entire environment from the smell to the beautiful pressed gowns in the windows, the white bridal room, the incredibly sweet team, and the attention to detail would make most people believe that the dresses are out-of-this-world expensive however, I think they are priceless because of how special, intentional and personal the entire experience can be. The last year of relationship with my dress, Fatima, Luly and staff has been 5 stars. So I'm hunting for a dress and they carry the designer that has some cute ones. We walk in and the made up wanna be a "cougar" doesn't even get up from her little desk to greet us. I explain that I'm looking for XYZ and do they have it so I could see it? Well...I actually don't know, let me go get someone else. The someone else was nice but she had to see if they could bring the dress in from a warehouse so I could try it on. Fine. I give her my business card and she says she'll call with the cost to bring it in and when we could do it. Fine. THEY NEVER CALLED. Even though I was looking on their lower end it still is pissy of them to do that. I will never go back there and I will tell my friends that if they do and they're not spending the $$$ watch out for crappy CS. read more

My worst wedding dress shopping experience by far! I made an appointment more than 2 months in advance as I was coming from out of town. It was a 9am appointment and I sat waiting for my associate to arrive for more than 30 minutes, Note: I had called twice to confirm my appointment. At this point she asked we to walk around and grab dresses I liked (and there was a VERY small selection to choose from). When I was done she was nowhere to be found. Turns out she double booked the appointment and was on the other side of the store helping a returning customer. I was given little assistance and had nobody to answer questions regarding the dresses that I tried on. The customer service could not have been worse. For me, this is a very important element of this experience and for that reason alone I would NEVER go back. read more

Enter: cue air hug. Not worth the stress of a bad scheduling system, of unclear alterations planning, and of ersatz service. I bought my dress from a trunk sale there, initially pleased with the fit, with the personalized service, and the atmosphere. That all went south. Yes, the store is gorgeous, with a plush foyer and racks of lush, creative dresses. Yes, your appointment takes place in a beautifully appointed room with an attendant to assist with both dressing and dialogue. Yet these aren't worth the stress of not knowing if your dress will be ready in time or of having to work to get your own dress ready on time. Especially given the high price! At first, the saleswoman was sweet, honest and down-to-earth, a person that I thought could give me style advice with a twist of insider knowledge. She was truly nice and I like her. Yet after the purchase, my appointments kept disappearing. Where was I in the system, how would alterations happen in time, and what about the other appointments? Sadly, the saleswoman had been an accident and gone from work. Perhaps it was her absence that threw off the turn of my cog in the Luly Yang system. But after multiple calls, someone should have caught the error. Once I had paid, my subsequent appointments felt empty. Maybe it's a place for super girly-girls, who can cue the staff when they need compliments or fussing. Maybe it's for princesses, who can whine their way through the process. I know that its not for normal, stressed brides who seriously splurge on fancy-pants dresses, hoping for comfort and beauty. By the end of the process I wanted to go elsewhere for alterations and I regretted buying my dress there. Given how much I spent and how much effort I put into their completely overbooked appointments schedule and their messed up credit card system, while I appreciated their initial service, the final appointments lacked sincerity. This is not the place for a woman who wants to buy a creative dress within a certain timetable and expects authentic service. read more

I will be the first to admit (and did so to Luly herself) that I was very intimidated to come to this shop. My first time was at the end of January to check out their bridal trunk show of Luly's new Luly Blue and Luly Diamond line. Intimidated- why you ask? Have you seen the beautiful blue window displays of nothing but gorgeous gowns? For some reason, I thought this beauty would equal snobbiness... I am happy to report I was wrong (and I don't often admit that!). Luly happened to be in the shop during that trunk show. I'll admit (and again, did so to Luly herself) that I was a little starstruck... I mean, we're friends on Facebook and all, but here I was with THE Luly Yang in front of me, looking at my bridal book and asking me about whay I was interested in. I described the type of gown I was looking for and what I felt would look best on my body... VOILA, Luly picks my first gown... the gown I ultimately bought. She is amazing. Since then, I've had most interaction with my lovely consultant Sheryl- she is truly a bride's angel! For my gown, I chose to go the couture option- yes, pricier, but worth it because of my type of measurements (I'm short and thick so would have paid a bundle in alterations). Now my dress will be made specially for me... what a wonderful treat for my special day! read more

I already had my wedding dress by the time I went to Luly - I was looking for some accessories. Pros: - I had a belt custom made for me based off of a similar belt they had in the store. it turned out beautifully! - I got earrings and a necklace here that are stunning - Staff was generally friendly Cons: - Unable to alter my dress since it was purchased somewhere else - Recommended someone to alter my dress who no longer alters wedding dresses! Total pain since if you've ever had to transport a wedding dress around you know how inconvenient it is to bring it one place just to find out you have to bring it somewhere else - If you don't have an appointment, you can't do anything but look at non-wedding stuff in the front of the store Overall - the pros greatly outweigh the cons since the pros are really the key Luly business and they all were wonderful. I had a wonderful experience at Luly Yang! A few months ago, I bought my Luly Yang dress AT A CONSIGNMENT STORE (for a fraction of the cost.) I'm getting married in August on the beach in Maui, and the dress is perfect - it's light, comfortable, and it sparkles! I'd never actually been in Luly Yang, but the seamstress who made alterations to the dress made a big deal out of the name. So, when I was downtown I stopped in to the boutique. I was greeted when I walked in, and another saleswoman asked if I was looking for something specific. I was honest and said I'd bought a Luly Yang dress on consignment and hadn't been in the boutique, and asked if it was alright if I just looked around. The saleswoman said "absolutely! We have so many beautiful things!" She even went out of her way to show me the dresses recently worn at a pageant. It's a small, intimate and incredibly expensive boutique, and I think it's reasonable for them to schedule and maintain private appointments. After all, each dress is perfectly made and any woman spending that much on her dream dress deserves the personal attention. This is not the kind of store where you can paw through the racks. It's a lovely shop with beautiful dresses and a great boutique experience. But they haven't responded to my emails and told me I can't take any photos of the dresses I've tried on because they didn't want anyone stealing their designs -- but then they let a fellow bride take photos a week later. I guess I just look more like I'm going to steal something? Some of the employees come off as very snobby and I feel like I'm being judged half the time go in (I have a lot of friends/family getting married right now and I am also getting married soon so I've been in a good number of times). Still, they have a lot of pretty stuff and I'm sure you'll have a good experience if you don't look shady like I do with my pastel pink hair. (belated review) I got married in Sept 2018 in Seattle at the Fairmont. Through the incredible recommendation of our Fairmont catering manager, Andrew Hoge, I went in with my 10 layer tulle wedding dress for pressing. I was referred to Fatima, who is a gem. She immediately greets me with poise and a sweet smile. It was 5 days before the wedding. As I put on the dress, I told her of my concern that this dress seems to not hold itself up over the course of the day. On top of which, I had lost some weight so I asked for her opinion on whether I could have the dress taken in knowing it's only 5 days away from the wedding. She acknowledges that there is only one seamtress she would trust to do this level of work but was very transparent up front on the tight turnaround. Without overpromising, she goes to grab the stores' lead seamstress, Mei to come take a look. She assured me if it needs to be taken in, there will be options that she will help me figure out together. As a bride to be, there is nothing more assuring that just knowing you have more people on your side solving problems and supporting you. Mei walks in, and you could tell she is very experienced. She immediately say that the dress was indeed too big and needs to be taken in. She also assessed other areas that I didn't even realize had design flaws, which again reinforces how experienced she was! However, it was going to be a lot of work. Still among this whole assessment process, Fatima and Mei maintained a warm and friendly demeanor. They were incredibly genuine and earnest in figuring out what they could do. In the end, it all worked out. Mei offered to take the extra time to help squeeze me in and at such a reasonable price! I was ready to pick it up Saturday but they said, we can get it to you Friday end of day! I was completely speechless to tears. I was already ready to accept wearing a slightly oversized dress, but Fatima and Mei earnestness and graciousness to help really was such a wow factor. Not to mention, If I had known about Luly Yang earlier, they have absolutely beautiful collection of wedding dress across all range of style variety and price. I would definitely have looked here if I had known about the brand, not to mention the heartwarming and professional service of Fatima and Mei! read more

My friends and I have always drooled over Luly Yang's dresses in the window, so we decided to take the wedding dress shopping opportunity to visit her store. I'm so glad I did! I just had my bridal consultation with Meg & Natalie and they were great! Not pushy, and very friendly and professional. Meg has a great eye for style and design. We were on the lower end of their price range (around $1000-$1500), but there were plenty of dresses and sale items to try on. She even let me try on some expensive dresses just for fun! The highlight was when she brought out the blue Monarch dress so that we can see it in person. I haven't purchased my dress yet, but I keep thinking of that one Luly Yang design that is so unique and really stands out from all the other dresses that I've tried on. I'm so happy we made an appointment here to look for wedding dresses. Every experience here was great. I found that they had a great selection of both Luly couture designs and other designers including Enzoani and Nicole Miller. I struggled to decide between an Enzoani and Luly gown and in the end was so happy with my choice. The dresses were priced as you would expect for high quality bridal couture, starting at around 2k. They helped to find me the perfect dress, and even walked me patiently through the possibility of altering my mother's dress. They also worked with me to lower the price of the gown that I chose using a trunk show discount. There are only two rooms to try gowns on, so you have a very intimate and personalized experience, which is really nice. I was worried because some reviewers said they had a hard time with appointments, especially for alterations. I did not have any of these problems. My dress needed to be taken in four times, and each time my appointment time was promptly kept. I was a bit disappointed to have to pay through the nose each time, but it's a couture house and they do beautiful work. The alterations team even remade my mother's veil into a new veil for me and courteously called me twice to double check that we were ok with the necessary alterations that would damage the original hat to which the veil was attached. The result was stunning and so special to have this part of my mother's incorporated into my day. It can be hard to get ahold of the front desk at times, but I did get return calls from the messages I left. I went to three other couture bridal shops in Seattle, but if you are not tied to getting a Vera Wang or Lazaro at Marcella's, then you should really support this great shop. If you're lucky enough to set aside a hefty budget for your gown, the collections are definitely worth trying on. My bridal consultant, Nini, was wonderfully sweet and charming. She was helpful, knowledgeable and I never felt pressure from her to pick anything immediately. I visited 12 shops around the Seattle-area and ultimately came back to Luly and picked my favorite from my first session. These gowns are handmade in-house and turn-around time is quicker than most of the 5-6 month windows from other shops. The detail on the gown is gorgeous and I cannot wait to wear it on the big day! Had a wonderful experience here. From my initial consult through my final fitting, the team at Luly went the extra mile to make me feel special and well cared for. I had no real preconceived ideas going into my consultation, but I was fairly certain I did not want a strapless ball gown. The dress I ended up selecting was the first dress I tried on at the suggestion of my mom and was, you guessed it, a strapless ball gown! The silk charmeuse material was beyond luxurious and the simple but classic design suited me very well. Working with Fatima was seamless and fun. Mae's expert alternations in completely remaking the bust of my dress were truly amazing. Pop-ins at fittings by Luly herself were especially cool. I couldn't LOVE my dress more! read more

I've never tried on wedding dresses before nor have I accompanied friends to try on dresses so I didn't know what to expect during my appointment here. Jill, my salesperson, was very low pressure, friendly, and open. I'm sure my budget was on the very low end of what their store sells but Jill didn't even flinch. When I selected dresses that were multiple times my budget, she gracefully told me that the dresses were "slightly above my price point" but I was welcome to try them on anyway. I never felt uncomfortable here and my ridiculously amateurish questions were fielded without any flinching or awkwardness. She helped me try on a few dresses. I could not be more elated by my experience with Sherry at Luly Yang! I recommend going here to fulfill your bridal needs (and/or couture) without any reservations and mountain top of excitement. This is the second award winning experience I've had there and this time it was personal (the first was when they went over the top with a friend of mine, hence, I returned). After some crummy initial experiences in the dress shopping department (I was literally depressed by the time I got to Luly), I met my consultant Sherry. Sherry immediately made me and my Mom feel 100% at ease and renewed my "quest for the dress" spirit almost immediately. To make a long gushy story short, Sherry let me come in 3 times (3rd time was the charm!) to try on about 10 dresses. She was responsive to emails as my ides evolved between appointments, even on Sundays. I sent a photo of something that caught my eye on a Sunday, of a dress I was finally giddy about, and Sherry pulled an option from another line they carry and nailed it. I tried it on on a Friday, alone, and it was the winner! Not only did I love the dress itself but the cost was finally comfortable. And let me tell you, they have a dress for nearly every price point (mine was not a "couture" level price point). Her patience and guidance throughout this process has been incredible invaluable. I adore LYC. I've been to a couple of Luly Yang's fashion shows and the productions are always amazing. At last year's show at Fremont Studios, real customers were included on the runway modeling items they've purchased. It was awesome to see woman from beautiful brides to older ladies strutting their stuff. I'm getting married in August, so I went to the sample sale last month. While I didn't find my dress, I was given great services from a gent named Andrew. I'll be back to try on more dresses when I'm done working on my bridal body. Located in the Fairmont's picturesque building, Luly's home base is more like every woman's fantasy couture playground than a mere "dress shop." No need to be intimidated, though. Admittedly, I felt out of place the first time I walked into the shop to browse. That lasted .2 seconds. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff members who were more than happy to take me on a mini-tour of the different rooms, even though they knew I wasn't necessarily planning to purchase anything. Now, I visit regularly and always feel at home (a VERY upgraded home!) Seattle is lucky to have our very own couture designer. I'm lucky I had that with LYC. I have just moved into Seattle with less than 2 months before my wedding. I was already frustrated that I still couldn't find the right gown. My fiancé and I were walking along 4th Ave. when we chanced upon Luly Yang. We we're lucky that they didn't have any appointments during that time and were happy to accommodate us. The Sales Associate who assisted me was Ms. Fatima. I highly recommend her! I informed her of my budget and the styles that I liked. She was pleased to assist me pick the right and perfect gown, and even let me try other options just to make sure I was completely happy. I never felt intimidated or embarrassed to communicate what I really wanted. She was conscious and also made sure that everything was within my price point/budget. LYC also has beautiful accessories in the Salon that I even ordered my veil and headdress with them. Ms. Fatima assisted me throughout all the fittings and was never pushy in making a Sale. Oh! Re: Alterations, I had some areas of the dress and veil altered but the seamstress Ms. Mae was very good as well. She dress/veil was perfect by the first fitting alone, and you could hardly tell the alterations. What an extraordinary experience I had. Probably much different than most. I came across Luly Yang quite by accident online. I loved one of the dresses and thought it would be perfect as my mother of the bride dress. I had it shipped and it came right away in a beautiful box with gorgeous blue satin ribbon. Opening a meticulously wrapped dress in beautifully folded tissue, a hand written note in a blue, embossed envelope made me realize even before I saw the dress that this store did everything with so much care and attention to their clients. I loved the dress, but it was too small, so I called the store.i connected with Fatina, who could not have been nicer and was told they would send next size. No problem. I live in Los Angeles and after looking all over Southern California for my wedding dress, my search came to a halt in my hometown of Seattle! When my sister-in-law brought me to Luly Yang to expand my search to the Pacific Northwest, as soon as I walked in, I knew this was the place. Luly Yang Couture is THE place you dream of when you think about buying your wedding dress! Outside, the store front has amazing displays of dreamy gowns that grab your attention and makes traffic stop. Inside, it's so precious it makes even the most skeptical bride bow down to all that is girly! So many beautiful wedding dresses and evening wear, shoes and accessories that make you want to play dress up all day long. I bought my Luly Yang wedding dress here with the help of Lisa Marie. She pulled together the entire look that was to die for! The perfect dress for me was matched with high red heels (also Luly Yang), lovely drop earrings, a blush colored cathedral length veil and the most beautiful wrap ever imagined. Lisa Marie really knows how to dress a woman. And she was sooooo fun! I flew up twice for fittings before I brought my dress back home to LA. Every time I walked into the store, I always felt special and was treated so warmly by the entire staff, always happy to see me back. Having a glass of wine at the W Hotel or across the street at Purple was the perfect way to cap off Luly visits. So much fun! The entire experience was so wedding perfect that I want to do it all over again! I will be going to Luly Yang for all my evening wear and red carpet needs! Viva la Luly! read more
