There is no forestry service ban on open burning of acreage in Columbus county , much less in a controlled fire pit. There is no conceivable reason I can't have a fire in a fire pit surrounded by yards of concrete and asphalt. These people are buffoons. They're like the same person who wears a mask for Covid when they are driving in their car by themselves. I will never come back. Save your money and go to a state park where the Gestapo there at least follow state regulations not made up rules.

We love the family atmosphere and our kids enjoyed riding their bikes, playing on the playground, and going to the pool. This is the perfect campground if you love smaller campgrounds with SHADE. It is definitely not a concrete jungle like some of the other campgrounds. The bath houses are the best and they are cleaned on a regular basis. The campground also has a small store that offers free movie rental for those rainy days/nights. The staff is very friendly. I cannot say enough great things about this campground!

Did an overnight stay here while traveling in the RV, I made the reservation using the KOA App…read moreabout a week prior to arriving. The reservation and check-in was easy and our site was ready upon our early afternoon arrival. The staff in the office was very friendly and explained all the ammenties and drew the directions to our site on the map provided there was no escort to our site but it was very easy to find and get set up. The site was very level and all the utilities were in excellent condition, we were at site 41 which is one of the premium sites which included a large concrete patio with a few chairs around a sunken fire pit and another high top table with four chairs which all looked fairly new. This site was very clean and there was plenty of room between all the sites unlike a lot of KOA Campgrounds. This KOA worked out perfect for us and one I will gladly recommend to others and one I will definitely stay at again if traveling to or through the area...

We also enjoyed the scenic walking trail around the pond. The bathrooms were very clean, and the laundry facilities were surprisingly affordable. There was even a spacious dog park for our furry family members to enjoy. Overall, this campground was welcoming, well maintained, and family friendly. We would absolutely recommend staying here!

The water, sewer hookup, and power pole all worked well and seemed to be in real good shape. My pull through site was nice and level. We had a full hookup site, so we didn't check the bathrooms or showers. This is a really decent overnight rest stop. With easy access to gas pumps as you leave. I will also say we did eat dinner at the restaurant within walking distance. It was a decent burger and the server was very nice. I think I will continue to use this location as a pit stop for now on.

We stay in parks all over the country and if you are traveling through NC you need to stop here. It's so clean, lots of shade and walking trails. Beautiful , safe pool. We all really enjoyed waking up to such a breathtaking view. We took the paddle boats out for a spin, sneaking up on turtles perched on logs. The only downside, for us, was the number of cats and dogs that have free range around camp. We had brought our dogs for the weekend and were uncertain about how to keep our critters from going bananas trying to introduce themselves to the resident critters. We will certainly visit again, but we might leave our 4 legged friends at home.
