Apache Pier in Myrtle Beach is a classic, timeless treasure we've been visiting for years, and this review focuses solely on the pier itself, not the campgrounds. The pier offers a nostalgic vibe with fishing opportunities--bring your own gear or rent poles and supplies from the basic gift shop, which also stocks cold drinks and frozen treats, perfect after a morning on the beach. In past visits, walking the pier was a thrill, with catches like sharks, fish, eels, and even a sea turtle popping up to say hi! However, the price to just walk the pier has climbed over the years, so we haven't done it recently. The arcade is the highlight for my kids; while the game selection isn't huge, it's enough to keep them entertained for a bit, with e-tickets loaded onto game cards for redeeming prizes at the counter. Game prices are about the same or slightly higher than other arcades. Despite the rising walk-on cost, Apache Pier remains a beloved stop for its charm and family-friendly fun!

    Bites on my foot.

My husband and I rented one of apache rentals, unit 195, July 5-12. We brought our clothes in bags and laid them on the bed in the spare bedroom. After the first couple days, I begin to notice bites on my legs, I just thought nothing of it, so each day more bites on my foot. The last day of our vacation, my husband took our clothes out to the truck, I accidentally brushed my hand over the bed, I saw black specks, lots of them, I brushed them all of to the floor, you couldn't see them, because of the cover was dark, not being familiar with bed bugs, I didn't know what that was, I researched it and those was bed bugs droppings. When we got home we saw 3 or4 bugs crawling on the bags where our clothes were in. We called the manager at apache, and told him. In a couple days later, he said their were people already in the unit, but he said he had exterminate, in front of the people and said that there were no bugs. He lied, I know for a fact those were bed bugs, we never stayed no other place, I have 13 bites on one foot, 6 on the other. I have severe neuropathy in my feet, which now they are very itchy and hurt. What is so wrong, they are renting this place out, collecting people's money and they have bed bugs. Then if you tell them, they tell you back they don't have bugs, shame on them, they have lost a customer. I will never be back there. I have pictures of my feet of all the bites. I have pictures but for some reason they will not want to load.

This place reminds me of how it was in my neighborhood when I was growing up as a kid. Kids are out on bicycles not worried about cars hitting them or people running off with them they have a very nice secure warm neighborhood feel to this small community. There's a mix of tiny houses, RVs, tents everything's all mixed together but it's arranged so very organized and nicely. The staff is really friendly all of the guest are really reasonable neat and everything is so well-maintained. They have free activities included in your stay for everybody almost every night adults and kids. They have also had non-denominational church twice a week and the kids camp almost every day. There is a little small train that they have for the kids to ride around the lot every day when it's not raining at 11 AM. They also have the longest pier in the south east and there are a lot of fish in the water you can see them from standing on the pier. There is two separate water play areas one big pool a small pool and then water sprinklers and a little wading pool with banana trees that dumped water on you from overhead. We love the place and are looking forward to coming back!

Stayed at this campground for many years and decided to visit since we were in town. First shock we had was when we approached the front gate and found out that their is a $10 pier parking fee on top of the $2.00 per person fee to go out on the pier. We expected the fee for going on, but not the parking fee. The parking fee is an obvious money grab. Driving through the campground it was quickly apparent that the owners are not putting much money back into the place. The trailers all look run down and they have taken away a lot of the parking near the beach to add more trailers to the point that there isn't much room to move around other than on the roads themselves. The pier itself is in need of repairs as well. There are several boards that sink in when you walk on them as well as several with holes that expose the view underneath. This was a shame to see as we were there in 1994 when they were building the pier. The pier is the only draw as there are other trailer parks in the area such as The Myrtle Beach Travel Park and Pirate Land that has more for the family and are much better maintained.

We have been traveling the coast taking in Lighthouse and piers so of course we had to see the longest pier on the east coast! There is an entrance/ parking fee to enter the campground. The staff at the entrance gate was not the friendliest. We entered and headed to the pier. There is a $2 fee per person to go on the pier. We walked to the end and back and I took some pictures under the pier. One fisherman caught a baby shark. I can say I've been here.

If I could give the pier - stars I would. I was discriminated. People want to talk about discrimination these days well there are many avenues. And having a service animal to assist with medical disabilities and not allowing the service animal to assist to go to a public, payed for place is disturbing. Richard that obviously doesn't know ADA AND SC laws was uneducated and rude. And wanted to know my medical disability....can't ask that sir...or should I say little boy. Your momma obviously didn't raise you well..... shame on you. Karma is a bitch and so are attorneys....

We walked down the beach from Lands' End and stopped in to check out the pier. Ended up catching a cab back to our condo because we were already tired from the walk down the beach and it was pitch black out by the time we left. Here's a quick run-down of what to expect at Apache... Campground -- crowded but the people are friendly. Seems to be pretty busy all day and night... people milling about. Reminds me a lot of a tailgate party at a football game or a race. Golf carts zooming around all over the place and kids running around, as well. Arcade -- some pretty fun games. Lots of Skee Ball and a couple of Pinball machines. Not a large arcade by any stretch of the imagination but it will certainly keep young campers happy. Pier -- "Longest pier on the East Coast," claims the management. Mostly for fishing or getting a quick look down the beach. Apache family charges $1 for pier walks during the day and $3 at night when they're doing "entertainment." "Entertainment" consists of a bunch of kids singing karaoke under a tent while being watched by their parents and/or grandparents. Not my cup of tea and certainly not worth $3. In the interest of being fair, I have to give this place 3 stars. There aren't very many campgrounds like this left in the area and it looks like a decent place if you're into "camping" in a travel trailer or mobile home. I didn't seen any tents *shrug*. The pier wasn't really my thing, but everyone out there certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves at 10:30pm. Lots of people still fishing and Karaoke was pretty popular.

The sunrise from the pier is amazing. The cool Ocean Breeze and the sun coming up over the water is just lovely. It does not open until 6 so you cannot get out any earlier than that. It does cost $5 for parking and $2 to go out on the pier. There was not much parking even at 6 a.m. The woman working in the pier Booth was very nice. there was plenty of snacks and drinks for purchase. There were plenty of bathrooms at the restaurant / bar the pier building and also Midway down the pier which was fantastic. There is not much seating except for a few picnic tables in the center , near the stage , and a picnic table at the end under a great little overlook. I highly recommend a trip here if you love seeing spectacular sunrises!!!

This place may not be the most extravagant campground in myrtle Beach but it sure is the most peaceful one. In the past 6 years I have been staying here every summer and I have never had a complaint it's quiet with no riff raff going on at night and the staff are extremely caring and friendly. If you don't enjoy this place to bad because your probably a snob anyways. This place isn't about a status it's more for family enjoyment.

It felt like we were asking a dumb question every time we asked something. Charging $100/day for a golf cart rental is wild behavior. Half of the splash pad didn't work and the ground needed a really good pressure wash. The hours of everything is odd - I've never stayed at any campground where the camp store closes at 4pm? Our last KOA 2 weeks ago, it closed at 7pm and their shuttle went until 9:30pm...so having a "shuttle" to the beach that stops at 3:30 in the afternoon is dumb and useless. Very unimpressed - will not be returning and we also do not recommend.

Gave me the impression that is not a customer friendly campground. I wasn't given the discount because I didn't ask for it, no refunds after the site has been reserved, no credits either. Upon arrival we were waiting to be checked in behind a Class A rig by the gate house and due to the size of the Class A I could not read the tiny sign indicating that if there was nobody at the gate to come inside, finally when that rig moved I realized I had to go inside, another 5 or six minutes wasted after 3pm no big deal but it adds up to my initial disconformity. The place is huge! I have never been to a campground with over 1000 sites not one hundred but one thousand! Very hard water but that is not their fault, city water. Got to our site and it looks ok but but but it is not concrete and it is not gravel, it is a combination of dirt sand and leaves. That tells me the site may have been vacant for several days and the 25 dollar fee is not even justified because I am not rushing employees to clean up the site that just became available the day of my arrival. Dirt and sand, no problem as long as there is no rain because I brought my 14 X 14 rug but guess what it rained all day the day before our departure and it was a bit of a mess even if we take our shoes off inside the coach. We didn't partake in any of the amenities available like the water park and the corn hole etc because of the convention we were attending here and BTW the facility we were given was very nice to accommodate about 80 plus of us. I take one star for the fact that my site wasn't quite level and for the dirt, it is not even gravel for goodness sake. I wouldn't call it a resort unless every site was concrete Would I come back? Yes just because the beach right there a few feet from the sites that are closest to the Information Center where we gather every day for our conference. It turns out they give a discount but they won't offer it to you unless you ASK for it and because I didn't ask at the time I booked they refused to refund because it is run by a corporation with dozens and tens of dozens of employees. Inclined to take two stars but because I had a great time with our new friends at the convention I am leaving this place very happy and wishing to come back when it is not raining ALL DAY with a bloody mess on my shoes with all the dirt and sand.
