Tour management could improve. We waited for an hour for a self tour. (We didn't take it) too much time wasted.

Thanks so much for the patience and responsibility of Susan who front desk staff. She was very careful to record and check all the information, so that I could find the package that was missing for a week. This is very important to me! Best wishes to her

I moved to Tysons without being able to see the apartments or meet any members of the staff in person and was a little worried about it. I would say that during my leasing process, Lumen staff was the most responsive out of the 8+ apartments that I had an interest in. I've been at Lumen for about a year now and this is the best-managed building I have lived in in terms of service. This group goes above and beyond to cater to residents and create a comfortable experience. The management and leasing team are a great group and always greet you when they see you in the elevator or halls. The concierge has done everything from helping me with packages when I wasn't feeling well to helping me with the freight elevator - they really do care about residents and it's been a great experience because of that. I do use the amenities often and am glad that I can choose between four floors of amenities. The location is very convenient to the Metro and other shops. Needless to say, I'm happy I live here and enjoy the views from my corner home, and would recommend the building to anyone who is looking in the area. A few hiccups that I would like to mention - pet owners are sometimes inconsiderate and do not pick up after their pets and I do wish that we had more EV charging stations.

This is the picture inside of the elevator it's was one of my favorite parts of the tour because I never seen that much button before

Didn't like it. The people were awful. Rude concierge, and rude racist residents. I hated getting stuck in the elevator with any of them.

The building onsite management, maintenance, and cleaning staff are superb. Everyone is friendly, approachable, extremely helpful, and very competent. Problems and concerns are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner. The community manager, Ezra Mizrachy, is more than willing to work with residents on rent increases and apartment updates so that you feel you're at home, not just in an anonymous rental. Though some services have changed during the years we've lived here, things are always being improved upon with the comfort and lifestyle of residents in mind. Kudos to both Erza and assistant manager, Gabriella Orellana, for making the Highgate a wonderful and inviting community.

The only "solution" management has provided is an extremely loud window unit that barely cools the living room even when outdoor temperatures are only in the 80s. It doesn't effectively cool the apartment, and the noise is so disruptive that it barely lets me sleep at night. No meaningful urgency, and no adequate short-term accommodation (like a credit or temporary accommodation) while this drags on. Going months without functioning AC especially with temperatures reaching into the 90s and 100s is unacceptable. I haven't had a decent night's sleep in months, and the lack of proper action from management has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

During my time here, I have had the opportunity to become familiar with many residential buildings throughout the McLean, Virginia area, and I have found Ovation to be one of the best places in terms of stability, comfort, cleanliness, and overall quality of life. The community is beautiful, peaceful, and exceptionally well maintained. The level of service is excellent, and the leasing office is consistently responsive to residents' requests. The maintenance team also deserves recognition for how quickly and efficiently they respond and complete their work. The amenities are excellent, particularly the fitness center. More importantly, there is a sense of peace and tranquility here that makes Ovation a wonderful place not only to live, but also to relax, feel comfortable, and truly feel at home. I would especially like to recognize Sofia. Sofia is exceptionally helpful, respectful, understanding, and professional. She treats everyone with kindness and is always willing to help. She is patient, friendly, and has an outstanding ability to communicate professionally with residents. What stands out to me most is the way she handles difficult situations. Even during the busiest and most stressful times, she remains composed, finds solutions, and handles situations with excellent judgment. I have never seen her complain or show frustration toward residents. She continues to welcome people with a smile and a positive attitude, even when it is clear that she has had a long or demanding day. Her presence makes things easier for residents. She is approachable, respectful, thoughtful, and genuinely knows how to deal with people. In my opinion, much of the success and positive atmosphere at Ovation is a reflection of its management and staff, and Sofia in particular deserves special recognition for the role she plays in making this community such a pleasant place to live. After more than a year here, I can confidently say that choosing Ovation was an excellent decision

They fail to properly pre-plan elevator inspections, which leads to long delays--often it takes up to 10 -15 minutes just to catch an elevator. When one finally arrives, it's often packed with 10 to 12 people and several dogs, making the ride uncomfortable and frustrating. Over the past week, only two elevators have been servicing 28 residential floors plus four levels of parking. Today, there was only one elevator running. That is simply unacceptable for a building marketed as high-end. Management needs to take accountability, invest in timely elevator maintenance, and ensure inspections are completed without disrupting daily life for residents. This level of service does not match the premium price tag.

Lived in a 1 bedroom + loft which was very spacious, but encountered multiple issues starting even before move in day. 1) we signed a lease for a specific apartment and style and then 1 week before move in day receive an email saying the previous tenant is not leaving anymore so they are going to find us a new apartment. Ended up in a unit with same square footage but older finish. Had to argue about keeping the price too because they wanted to increase it because it was a different unit and different market rate which was total BS for breaking our legal agreement to move into the unit. 2) because of this, there was clearly confusion upon move in day because the rep helping us move in said she couldn't find our keys... she had the old paperwork in front of her from our original signed lease and not our updated lease... I had to point that out to her when I asked to see what the move in packet looked like. Office staff is either incompetent or there's a lack of organization causing mishaps like that. 3) AC either cools or heats your apartment. Have to ask maintenance to switch it. AC constantly broke too which maintenance had to fix. Considering it was Covid times, I was understanding of the delay in service time but after Covid the maintenance team was prompt with work orders within ~2-3 days at most. I'd give them a solid 5 stars for the work they did to try and fix these old apartments. 4) post Covid, rent skyrocketed 30% for the same old apartment... when asked what value I'm receiving in the hike in price all they could say is that it was the current market price which is expended but cmon, those apartments are not worth anymore than 2100/month. By the end of our stay we were paying 2450/month after initially moving in at 1880... when our renewal came in for the potential 3rd lease they wanted to charge us 2500. BS. 5) gate is always broken and several cars have been broken into. A car parked near mine literally had the window smashed in. Definitely not safe at all as they market it to be a gated community. They do try to fix it, but by the time they get to it it's been 3 months and then it breaks again. 6) trash always overflows and compactor breaks, leading to people throwing trash outside of dumpster and numerous rats near the trash area. Definitely avoided throwing trash out at night to avoid those disease ridden animals. 7) speaking of animals, there were occasionally raccoons on people's balconies or on the roof. They were mostly chill tho but could be harmful. Always heard them on our roof late at night. 8) living on the 4th /top floor, you'd assume there would be no pest problems. Even though we kept our apartment clean, there would be ants on our balcony somehow and towards the end of our lease were battling them for several months. That was the final straw as we decided to non-renew our 3rd lease lol. 9) when we first signed our lease the amenity fee was $250, but then increased to $500 for the 2nd lease. They did not add any value to amenities and clearly wanted more profits from tenants. 10) be prepared for occasional stolen Amazon packages. When the doors are locked to the club house / Amazon hub lockers, the Amazon drivers will try to deliver it to your doorstep. Sometimes they are lazy and leave it by the mailboxes. I've seen them post a photo of where it was left in the Amazon app and then fail to find my package afterwards. This happened more than once so good luck with ordering stuff to your apartment / town home. In summary, you are better off finding somewhere else to live if you're going to end up spending $$$ to live in the Tysons area until management addresses these issues.
