HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My mom came to Asheville, NC on a solo trip to celebrate her birthday. She mentioned wanting to eat at this restaurant but OpenTable indicated there was no availability for the evening she was hoping to dine. I signed up for notifications and after some tables became available and were quickly booked, I called to see if they had room for a table for one. I explained the situation and the girl I spoke to was easily able to accommodate my mother. A gentleman then helped take my credit card information so I could cover the bill and even offered to write a card that would be handed to my mother in lieu of the check. The morning of the reservation, I spoke to same woman who made the reservation and she asked me questions about my mom's like and interests so they could make the evening special to her. When my mom arrived for dinner that evening, there were flowers at the table along with a customized menu in her favorite color. The staff also left a card wishing her a happy birthday. She was brought a complimentary glass of champagne and ordered the beef carpaccio to start. For the main course, my mother was between the caramelle or rigatoni. The waiter spoke to the chef and they were able to bring her a small portion of each dish so she could try them both. The entrees were perfectly sized, flavorful, and helped satisfy both of her cravings. She was then brought tiramisu with pistachio ice cream for dessert with the card that was written on my behalf. Throughout the evening, my mom shared that multiple staff members came over to check in, chat, and wish her happy birthday. Overall, my mom loved everything about this restaurant and had a wonderful evening. I am so grateful to all of the staff who went above and beyond to make her evening special. Me and my wife found ourselves exploring Asheville for our honeymoon and found Luminosa. We instantly reserved a table and when we showed up the service was wonderful. Our server Dan gave us the rundown on every dish and treated us to a few special gifts for our honeymoon which were absolutely delightful. If the food was a 5/5 the service was a 10. We got the beef carpaccio which neither of us had ever had before but we both loved, the bucatini for my wife who's lactose intolerant and she adored it. I got the Cannelloni, it was stuffed with braised beef and topped with a bone marrow and braising liquid reduction and it was heavenly. Couldn't recommend this wonderful restaurant more! We were staying at the Flatiron hotel and decided to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant. What a beautiful restaurant. The staff is amazing. I've never had a server take such good care of me. The wine was excellent. The salad was weird. The pasta was cooked to perfection. My wife's trout was delicious. My steak was decent and the vegetables were burnt beyond recognition. We chose Luminosa for our special night out on vacation, and it was unquestionably the right choice. The ambiance was charming, the food exceptional, and the service absolutely first rate. We chose a full experience--cocktails, bread service, wine, pasta, main course with a side, and desert with aperitif. Each component was top notch. The chef's cut steak was among the best I've had. It was perfectly cooked. Fork-tender and exquisitely seasoned. I could similarly compliment each course, but I don't want to sound hyperbolic. Even more impressive than the food was the outstanding service. Our server, Riley, was knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu and highly personable. Riley also knew about the preparation and sourcing of our meal, and we were delighted to learn that all of the components were locally and sustainably sourced. When I commented on the quality of our steak, Riley replied that the came from a cow born and raised within 40 miles! The rest of the team, from the host station on, were supportive and attentive. The zucchini side/appetizer was a personal favorite, but the bread plate is also a must-get!! The texture was both dense & fluffy and that chive butter was to die for! Every single thing about this Restaraunt experience was the absolute best we've had in Asheville (and I've been coming to AVL my entire life!) They are well deserving of all the accolades. Our servers were a true team knowing when to offer suggestions and when to be silent. They never interrupted conversation. Our head server even brewed and iced me some tea (they don't serve iced tea;) when the spice on one of the appetizers was too spicy hot for my palate. The lemon pizza is as fantastic as reported. Every thing we ate was delectable! They even had wild flowers on the table with a card for our anniversary! (I was told to take them but I totally forgot!) Three hours flew by. Perfect brunch spot! It's central location makes it convenient to walk to from most of the downtown hotels but there is also ample street parking and two garages nearby. The menu offers something for everyone. We kept it simple with the breakfast pizza and cinnamon roll. Both were devine. The pizza had the perfect blend of fresh tomatoes, sausage and egg, plus the fennel just added to the flavor. The cinnamon roll was so good and the two were perfect for two (or 3) to share. We went home with leftovers which made for the perfect midnight meal after a concert. Drinks were fabulous and prices were comparable to other local restaurants. Oh and the bacon! Elegant fine dining - this is what came to mind upon walking into the restaurant. We were seated and quickly approached by a very knowledgeable server. He asked if we had dined with them before and once he realized this was our first visit, he began to tell us a bit about the restaurant. All pastas are from scratch, made in house, butchering done in house from snout to tail, fresh ingredients are sourced locally from farmers markets, a zero waste kitchen! I quickly knew with confidence that our choice in restaurants that evening was going to be a treat! The ambiance was somewhat rustic, though elegant, while keeping a very cozy and warm, inviting atmosphere. Before heading out that evening, we had already decided we were in the mood for a good wood-fired pizza. I admit, after arriving, that maybe I should go for a different Italian dish - everything sounded wonderful! However, we went with our original idea and tried their Margherita Pizza with a local brew! It did not disappoint!!! Maybe my new favorite in Asheville! Bone marrow Tator-tots. 5 tots for $21. Literally no better than what you can get from the frozen food section. Waiter saw we didn't eat 2 of the 5 and asked what we thought. WIfe told him we expected there to be bone marrow. He told her that it's cooked using bone marrow making it richer. We said we didn't taste it or the richness. He told us "you wouldn't like actual bone marrow." I told him I eat it whenever it's available to me. That I enjoy a nice osso bucco and that I spread marrow on bread like butter. He said he did too. Makes me wonder why he's saying we wouldn't like bone marrow. Even though we ordered bone marrow tots. Anyway, I had the rigatoni with sausage. The tomato sauce would've been much better if it wasn't over whelmed with the flavor of sage. Nothing special about this dish. Comes across as something you wouldn't get as a side when you order a protein. Wife had the Lion's Mane mushroom and liked it a lot. Took over an hour to get a bowl of pasta and some fried mushrooms on a week night. So yeah, I wasn't a fan of that. They did comp us the tots that we sent back. So I'll give em that. read more

I'll start off by saying we had amazing service here and I regret not sharing our thoughts of the meal with the staff because I feel like they would have tried to make it right or a more enjoyable experience. We stayed at the flatiron which was a wonderful hotel and the woman who checked us in recommended dinner at Luminosa which is attached to the hotel. We walked in without reservations and sat at the bar for dinner. We ordered the beef carpaccio, carrots, mushrooms, and steak. Everything came out cold, which we thought was strange because it was not busy in the restaurant and we didn't wait a long time for the food to come out. The steak was a decent cut and may have been better warm, the carrots lacked a lot of flavor and the mushrooms were very rubbery. The beef carpaccio was flavorful and would be a great dish but had a ton of salt which really took away from the fresh flavors. We had a nice time despite the food because our bartenders were friendly and attentive and we had a great bourbon and glass of wine. From the environment to the staff to the chefs to the menu, this Michelin awarded restaurant is a rewarding experience! The historic storefronts of the Flat Iron Building have been reimagined with their original terazzo floors and tall ceilings with beautiful new walnut paneling and modern lighting and furniture including highly sought banquettes. A pizza oven cooks thin crust artisanal pizza. We had a seasonal herb version which included ramps. It was delicious! The wait staff work together and we were very well attended to. The rigatoni was savory. We also enjoyed an herbal spaghetti. Wine selection is good and house cocktails are inventive.
