    *Broth Bowl
    Amanda M.

This was one of my favorite visits in Asheville! We sat at the bar and the bartender was wonderful--talked through the menu with use and helped with all allergy questions. Amazing service. The highlight here was the broth bowl. We got it with steak tips per recommendation and it was amazing. I've never tasted a broth so rich and flavorful! And very simple--just bone broth with veggies--I don't know how they did it. And the noodles were handmade and delicious. We also tried the pork belly which was wonderful but rich. And unexpected favorite were their veggies too--so flavorful and fresh. Come here!!

We were driving up toward the Grove Park Inn when we spotted the quaintest little restaurant across the street -- Bone & Broth. It caught our eye instantly, so we decided to stop in for dinner, and we are so glad we did. Even without a reservation, the team welcomed us in right away, which was such a nice surprise. The ambience is simply beautiful. Dim lighting, exposed brick and cement walls, and even a living plant wall overhead made the space feel warm, stylish and inviting. We were greeted by our waitress Sarah who we enjoyed and had a lot of fun with. She made the evening fun and entertaining. We started with the bone broth soup, and my wife -- who is a huge broth fan -- said it was absolutely amazing. I ordered the beef tips with blue cheese penne sauce and added a side salad. The dish was rich and creamy and packed with flavor from the very first bite. Everything we had was wonderful, and the atmosphere made it even better. We are so happy we stumbled upon this place, and we absolutely recommend it. You will not regret giving Bone & Broth a try.

For dinner, I was craving bone broth, and never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that a Google search would lead me to a restaurant actually named Bone and Broth that serves just that. I immediately told my family we had to go, even though we were still full from lunch and all-day snacking. I'm so glad we did because it turned out to be an amazing spot. The restaurant is charming, and the servers are just as delightful. Dave, who took care of us, was incredibly helpful and patient as we asked plenty of questions. For drinks, my husband ordered a dirty martini while I had an amaro sour. Both were very well made. I had been hoping to start with a fernet from local distillery Eda Rhyne, but they didn't have it on this occasion. We started with the Brussels sprouts, and I can see why they're one of the most popular appetizers. Crispy and perfectly paired with a lemon aioli, they were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend them. For mains, my son had the ribeye, a generous 16 oz cut served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak looked fantastic, and the mashed potatoes were so dreamy he even ordered an extra side of them. My daughter enjoyed the steak and frites, while my husband ordered a cup of beef bone broth with a side of cubed steak bites. I went with the bone broth bowl, adding steak bites and omitting the pasta noodles. The result was a hearty, flavorful soup that hit the spot. The atmosphere is another standout. I couldn't help but notice how happy everyone looked as they left, and that says a lot. The combination of excellent service, warm ambiance, and flavorful dishes makes Bone and Broth a wonderful dining experience.

This is a nice restaurant that felt high end inside. It has a pretty brick exterior. Our server was so kind and attentive. We got the mushroom bisque and ceaser salad (not pictured), we had ordered an entree too, but we were so filled from the salad that we asked if we could cancel it and our server was very understanding about it. I can't wait to go back next time I am in town to try their entrees as they knocked the soup and salad out the the park.

Lovely restaurant! Warm, bar atmosphere with polished wood and comfy booths. Our server was attentive and knew the menu well so she could make suggestions. I had a summer salad with pickled blueberries and shrimp. It was wonderful! I also had an order of bread which was 2 slices of warm wheat bread with a choice of butters - I took the honey butter which complemented the bread well. My sister had the shrimp and grits which she loved. My brother in law had a veggies plate and enjoyed it.

We dined on Saturday night and we had a delicious meal. The overall ambience was perfect. A neighborhood restaurant with just the right amount of tables so it felt cozy and comfortable. We started with the bread and butter service. It was hard to choose which was between the herb or the honey butter. For our entrees we had the filet with mashed potatoes and a ribeye with charred brussels and broccoli. The meals were fantastic, flavorful and good portion size. The only thing I would say is the service was incredibly lacking. Our server had no warmth or personality. She greeted us flatly and then went on to say there are no specials and we aren't out of anything. Ok, strange greeting. Then something must have happened in the kitchen that delayed our entrees for a VERY long time. Rather then check in on us we had to ask what the delay was and she just said something had to be recooked. It was very off putting. I'm hoping we just had an inexperienced server and this isn't the norm. The food was definitely the saving grace of the night. Hoping others have a better service.

Absolutely 100% incredible. A must go. Atmosphere is casual chill, but you can dress to the nines if that's what you feel comfortable in. Bread service was delish. I didn't like the tallow butter(personal taste), but the herb and garlic butter knocked it out. We both had the filet. Cooked medium(perfect). Garlic mashed potatoes. I had Brussels sprouts and she had green beans. The house steak sauce would sell out if they bottled and sold it separately. Then we had the house made cheesecake, which was on the house because it was our anniversary. Make you a reservation and go!

Delicious birthday dinner! We both got the mushroom bisque and steak special. It was delicious and my steak was cooked perfectly.

We picked this restaurant becuase it had great reviews on Yelp AND becuase it was a short walk from our hotel. We couldn't have made a better choice. I ordered the pimento burger (which came with fries) and my wife ordered the bolognaise (fresh linguini egg noodles | bolognaise sauce | grilled sourdough | parmesan | herbs). My burger was fantastic. The menu indicated that it was locally sourced and actually came from te butcher shop NEXT DOOR. The burger itself was one of the best I've ever had. A great burger coupled with the 5-pepper pimento topping was excellent. My wife said her bolognaise reminded her of the sauce we used to love at a long closed spaghetti shop in Cleveland, OH. She said it was superb. Service was excellent. The restaurant was quite noisy which did make it a little hard to carry on a conversation.

This is a secret gem in the Charlotte street area. My bf and I went on a bike ride one day and stopped in to grab some drinks and that was the beginning of a wonderful relationship with the place. We came back another day for dinner where we shared a burger and deviled eggs. They may have been the best deviled eggs I'd ever had. And the burger was amazing. I returned a few more times and it was always a treat. I've tried a few meals, I may stick with their burgers though cause they hit so hard. But I'd recommend for foodies that like a different mix of flavors.

In terms of food, I ordered a mediterranean bowl and was pretty happy with it. Reasonably well presented. Some evidence of investing effort in creating an individualized concept. The ingredients were also very fresh. The toppings also fell within a reasonable balance. It wasn't overwhelming. It wasn't the best salad of this type that I've had, but it made for something crisp and fresh to pair with a pint. All that having been said, my suggestion would be to go for the beer. I'm here for my eldest son's birthday and of course our first dinner here, with his wonderful group of friends would of course be at The Admiral Restaurant; most likely the best restaurant in town. I've been to The Admiral several times before, so I'm making this review an updated version of just how good a place can still hold its reputation. For a restaurant so damn good, there is nothing fancy about it. It's set up like a small town diner; and that's what makes it so much comfortable. The service is spot on and their menu has so many wonderful choices at not "break the bank" prices. Us six diners ordered: * Caesar salad - for a southern restaurant making a Caesar this good, it was enchanting! It had Croutons, Parmesan and Anchovy * Ribeye Steak - see above accolade! With tallow confit potatoes, glazed carrots, chimichurri, goat cheese * Cheeseburger with fries - a mile high beauty with Cheddar, Dijonnaise, B&B Pickles, grilled Onion, and fries - was enchanting * Beef Tartare - with chile aioli, mustard seed, chive, ramp, black garlic, egg yolk * Smoked Trout Mantecato had black pepper-parmesan toast, Furikake, yuzu tobik * Airliner Chicken Breast with crispy red rice, tomatoes, romano beans, herb Every dish above was excellent. Service was excellent and the server couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We weren't particularly hungry so we ordered an order of hot wings and the ahi tuna appetizer. The wings were large, juicy and cooked perfectly. We give the wings a 5 out of 5. They were accompanied by an interesting twist on the celery, thin slices that tasted like it had been soaked in lemon juice. Excellent. But the ahi was another matter. The presentation was excellent - unique and interesting - and it was served with a nice selection of different sauces streaked along the plate. A miniscule serving of chopped ahi was served atop 6 deep fried squares of sweet rice measuring about 1.5 inches on a side. The concept was really clever but the rice was so overcooked it was a solid wad of paste; the ahi on top of each small square of rice was good but was skimpy, to say the least - smaller than a teaspoon of chopped fish on each rice square. I doubt the total amount of ahi would have filled a shot glass. We give the presentation a 5 but the quality and quantity a 3.

I was eager to try this newish spot from the former co-owner of highly rated Buxton Barbecue, but it didn't turn out so well. Maybe I just didn't know what to order. I guess I'll try it again. Don't know how much time Louie's owner Elliott Moss, who hails from Florence, South Carolina, has spent in Pittsburgh or Cleveland or Poland or Ukraine, where pierogi (yes, that's the plural of pieróg in Polish) are famous. Here, ours with potato and cheese ($11) was totally unlike the classic style, which traditionally features dumplings filled with mashed potatoes and cheese, boiled, then lightly fried and served with onions and butter. What we had was a clump of pale white dough, not fried, with a small layer of potatoes and some kind of cheese on top, and no onions. Our beef brisket and cheese hoagie ($16.49) was messy to eat and looked like the filling was whipped up in a blender. Nothing like the famous hoagies in Phillie or elsewhere in Pennsylvania. Louie's fries ($7.95 for a large serving) were well cooked but oddly topped with pesto and served with a small cup of marinara sauce. I guess that's what a chef calls "creative," but frankly I'd rather have just good fries. There are just four drafts on the drink menu ($5 or $6), plus a selection of cans and bottles. I had the Green Man porter. The booze is well priced, with gin, vodka and bourbon mostly under $10. Again, I love the dive bar atmosphere, much of it left over from the former bar here, The Malvern. There's a silver-painted high tin ceiling, dark blue walls, funky booths and even taxidermy on the walls. Drink prices are very reasonable. But as for the food, I'd rather have a classic burger and fries, rather than a phony pierogi or a hokey hoagie. Maybe next time I should try the smoked wings or the egg plant hoagie. I think this could be a great neighborhood spot in west West Asheville, if the owner would rethink the menu and add some items he know how to cook.
