I came in to Luminous Smiles beacause a friend of mine had referred me and kept bugging me to get into the dentist( mostly because I have had bad experiences) I am so glad I came in. Let's start with the office. It's beautiful! And is up to date with all the cool technology for dentistry. And the staff is great! Manny was so helpful in the front office and Jennifer her assistant is sweet and gental. And Dr.Desai well she is amazing!!! She used an infra oral camara and got some pics of my teeth, and we talked about what the game plan is going to be for the work I need done. For my weekend away and for a little added sparkle to my smile I had a gem added to my canine tooth, and I absolutely love it!!!! read more

I walked into Luminous Smiles because they were advertising a Grand Opening $99. Teeth whitening special. Dr Desai and her staff are friendly and welcoming. Since it'd been three months since I'd had my teeth cleaned she recommended I get them cleaned prior to the procedure for better results. I'm glad I did. Dr Desai assured me she'd give a great cleaning as she had been a dental hygienist for 7 years, deciding to become a dentist and working her way through school. Her cleaning was excellent. I'm glad she pointed out I'm brushing too hard. Dr Desai showed me how to more effectively brush to avoid further gum loss and she showed me on my arm how I'll periodically feel my teeth have a 10 second reaction to the whitening procedure. Glad she did as the few times I've felt it I was prepared. My teeth look great! read more

Let's face it...who really likes going to a dentist, let alone yelp about it. I usually don't write reviews but I had to share my experience here with Dr.Desai. I came in a bit hesitant and nervous since I hadn't seen a dentist in awhile. Had heard this was a new office, had the latest technology and their IG page shared a lot about the doc. The office is in a big medical building but since she's on the 1st floor, you see it right when you walk up. Immediately you notice the decor...its gorgeous. Black and gold wallpaper, marbles looking floors, white furniture...looks like an ultra modern Newport Beach office. When you walk in the front office, the staff greeted me, and Manny was so friendly and accommodating! Once I filled out my paperwork, I was seated in these super soft plush chairs. Something weird to be mentioning...but when I was getting my work done, I realized how soft the seats were, which soothed some nerves. Dr. Desai is very warm and friendly (as all dentists should be), but one thing stood out was that she's very thorough. I actually got to see my X-rays and teeth pictures up on the screen (oh yea she also streams Netflix on those!), we went thru my treatment plan, and I knew exactly what was going to be done! Not all docs do that...they just tell you they see 2 cavities and need to do a deep cleaning. I actually saw the 'need' for the work I was getting done! She was very gentle and made sure my nerves were settled every step of the way. All in all, an amazing office, staff and doctor. I would definitely recommend her to everyone! read more

I have always HATED going to the dentist. Its almost like a phobia. Going to Dr. Desai is my new GO TO dentist and I won't be scared anymore. The experience was different than any other dentist office I've been to. First off, the office staff is completely competent and professional. Lisa was so helpful in walking me through all the insurance stuff, explaining the different options I have, etc. The office is super clean and NEW. Dr. Desai is informed in all the up to date technology. She doesn't push it on you, but gives you her opinion and advises whether she thinks its good for you or not. Dr. Desai recommended Invasalign for me and I'm SO glad she did. I also double checked to ensure that the price quoted was market value and it indeed was. You can tell she's experienced, knows what she's talking about and is genuine on whether it will be good for you or not. If you've ever been hesitant about going to a dentist...please go see Dr. Desai. She will def put your fears at ease. read more

I went to this dentist via my Costco Delta Dental Plan & she could not identify the location tooth pain I had. Instead I was told I needed a crown in an unrelated tooth, a cleaning and scaling & planing on one tooth in pain. The next day I had major pain worse than it was- but it settled down- which was helpful I admit after the agony I experienced. That pain a month later still hurts. I did not go with a crown on an arbitrary tooth. I needed antibiotic injection which this general dentist tried to charge me almost $400 (where my original dentist in the plan charges $35!! That did it for me. I was getting nowhere. I went back to my original dentist who has integrity but further away from where we moved. I also went to the endo guy near my new location my original dentist referred via the Delta Dental Plan & & he did not find the issue immediately as the pain kept referring upper & lower- finally the bad tooth was identified via a 3D X-ray -it was abscessed & he did a root canal & permanent filling - went right through my already existing crown. Very skilled and astute endodontist. Unfortunately I would not go to Dr Desai again as my general dentist as I found her lacking experience, disingenuous and self serving -(unless the co who sells her the antibiotic material to insert into teeth was ripping her off) she's great for cleaning teeth though! read more

Dr. Desai is great and intelligent with her work. My first appointment consisted of the treatment I needed and my personal concerns. (Whitening and teeth crowding). I have had braces and never wore a retainer which is very common. And most of us don't do much about it. During the exam she introduced Invisalign, I never considered Invisalign until She introduced this awesome piece of technology which scanned my teeth and showed me what my teeth WILL look like when treatment is completed. Dr. Desai totally saved my tooth!. My original dentist performed a bad build up for a root canal (she left a sponge in my tooth) and Dr. Desai cleaned it out and fixed it.
