I simply love a great taco, not a good average taco. Luna fulfilled that order and served me a "GREAT CARNA ARSAN taco" with the avocado & delicious green sauce. I squeezed the lime over each taco, no need to add anything else. Just bite into your tacos, taste each morsel. The plantain was fried to peek deliciousness as my side. My meal was a delicious reminder to never alter the menu. ( never) eat it the way they describe it and enjoy the blended flavors. Five stars Luna. del Rio for the fabulous meal you served up. Stop by the bar is top notch with mixing your favorite cocktail, beer or bourbon. Or get a seat in one of their high top tables or cozy booths. All tvs are showcasing sports, so no complaining if you're not a fan. The staff is delightful eager to serve and waiting patiently for the restaurant to fill up. Holy bejesus almighty this food is beyond words. As a certified Mexican lover and Mexican myself I'll be honest, I didn't expect anything out of this world; just another restaurant... I was wrong and IM GLAD. We sat outside for lunch as it's a nice day and they offer outdoor seating with or without sunshine...we preferred the shade. And the host/server was so kind and attentive. Amazing. (I will say my mother and I are the type that prefer not to be asked 100x if we need something, and get everything we need once and be left alone to enjoy our lunch basically a slow relaxed ambiance. If you're not like that I suggest you sit inside.) -To start, their chips and salsa, actually great. -My mother ordered the arandas enchiladas (idk if I spelled that right) with steak and woah, whatever sauce they use IS FANTASTIC!! -I ordered the Mexican burrito with green sauce only, I'm not the biggest fan of red sauce but wow I'm sure it's great. This place had a great vibe. We went on a friday when they had a live DJ. Music, food, drinks and service were great. The waitress was great. She had some great recommendations. First time here under the new ownership. Wife and I came in early around 6pm. Sat at the bar. There were about 8 people total including at the bar. Tables were scarcely filled at this point. 3 bartenders. Waited on and ordered drinks and an entree. Wife had veggie quesadillas and I had the birria tacos. Decent food. Quesadilla, my wife enjoyed and said she liked it wasn't stuffed with cheese. Lots of nice veggies. My berries tacos were good. Middle of the road. Thinly filled. Consumè was tasty. Rice was decent. Then we couldn't get a bartender to wait on us. At.the.bar. Had to actually interrupt a conversation to get someone over to get the check. Not a terrible experience. But 3 inattentive bartenders can improve. Food was reasonable priced but portion and presentation can be worked on. Place has potential but has a little work to do on service. read more

Came in on the weekend around 6pm. food was okay, service started off fine. Then, when we were ready to leave and get to go boxes, we never saw our server. Never came to the table to ask how the food was, didn't see her for a good 20-30 minutes or so. Then saw her twice at the tables next to us but never stopped by ours. We had our toddlers with us and they were growing impatient. Couldn't even find a server to wave down to even ask for our tab, but they had time to sit down and roll silverware in the corner. It was a little busy, but didn't seem like she had any urgency or care to check on us. We eventually had to throw cash down on the table so we could finally leave and get our kids home. read more

We went on a Friday night, 2/6/2026 and were quite disappointed. First I ordered a Mojito and the waitress came back and said they coulnd't make it because they had no mint. We order a dip with chips trio for $14 and the dips came in plastic takeout bowls which the waitress dropped off without chips. She came back with chips a few minutes later. We ordered nachos and they were just OK. Our table also ordered fajitas which arrived without the tortillas and we were told they were making them--they arrived over 5 minutes later so by the the fajitas were no longer hot. The restaurant was maybe 75% full so the issue was not that they were too busy for the staffing. We won't be back. read more

My family had a horrible experience last night as out first time there. Place was almost empty, was 4pm. We kept waiting to have someone come over, finally I had to get up and go ask the 3 employees all talking at the host stand if someone could come take our drink and food order. Someone finally came. Then the drinks from bar took forever since bartender was busy chatting with another worker. The margaritas were the worst we have ever had. My husband didn't even want to finish his. Not sure if they were all just having an off night or what but we sadly won't be back to spend our money there. read more

Service is suuuper slow. we came in and there were not that many people in there but told our table would be 15 minutes. They forgot about us and got us a table when we went back up after about 20 minutes. Our food for our group of 8 took forever and they brought it all out at different times. Absolutely not impressed with their food at all. I got the carne asada fries which were DROWNED in queso and huge chunks of carne asada which made it impossible to eat without cutting them up. We ordered my granddaughter the kids chicken fingers and they were so overcooked they were almost black in some spots and VERY dried out. Luna del Rio is a great new addition to the Mill on Etowah. You will definitely love its freshly made food and hand-crafted cocktails. If you haven't met the new owner (Jose Luna), you'll surely love him too! He's adding a whole different touch to this place. The menu was recently changed, including a wide variety of authentic mexican food. Make sure to taste the delicious Fajitas, Street Tacos and my personal favorite, the Quesabirrias. The staff is super nice and they will do a great job taking care of you. Don't forget to have a sip of CaliFino Añejo or a wonderful CaliFino margarita on the rocks. I was there last Friday (05/30) and they had a Latino Party going on until 12AM. I definitely recommend this place. 10/10! read more

We went there to see a band from our school and immediately I felt very welcomed. The owner and staff were very kind and made sure to attend to our needs. We placed 3 orders of churros and after a while the owner came out and told us that unfortunately they only have two churros left and apologized for the mistake and proceeded to cover our entire tab. They were all so kind about the mistake and made sure that we were taken care of. I enjoyed my tacos they tasted delicious along with everything else we ate. The environment is also very enjoyable and calming. I would for sure go again! read more

If you're looking for a meal with no calories I recommend the street tacos. The meal was so small that it cause me to burn calories just from eating it. The salsa that came with the complimentary chips was spicy from too much garlic. This was a bad experience. I would have been more satisfied from Taco Bell. Maybe the owner should re-brand this place as a family bar with snacks. read more
