A good Mexican restaurant with plenty of seating and a menu with plenty of options. The area has so many of equal value and quality, so location is going to be the distinguishing factor. This is right off exit 14 of I-575 so it's convenient for those coming and going to the Canton or Holly Springs area. Parking is plentiful although it's at the far end of the parking lot, so there is some navigation involved. The service was attentive and I never lacked for a drink refill. The tortilla chips were fresh and warm and served with plenty of salsa. My entree was the Steak al la Tampiquena, and the flour tortillas, beans with cheese, pico, guacamole, poblano, rice, tomato/lettuce that came with it were all good. We come here frequently, the food is decent, the service is quick. But after tonight, I'm not sure we will ever be back. Our waitress asked if she could refill my drink, took my cup and did not come back until several minutes later. When she finally returned, she set a cup down on a table nearby and set mine down before me. I take a sip & notice the flavor is off. Then look up to see that my cup (had a lime in it) is set on the other man's table & she brought me his drink (with no lime). Absolutely disgusting. Systems should be in place so this never happens. I get take out from Viva quite frequently. Their queso is soo good and the chicken and beef enchiladas are tasty. Not sure why the reviews are not so great for this place but I don't think I've had a terrible experience here. Food is usually ready pretty quickly and they pack up the food really nicely for to-go. I had a lunch special #1 on Sat. 11/23/19, arriving at 2:35 pm cost $5.83 with tax. I have been a lunch customer there for 4 years, attending once every 7-10 days. Today the meal was just above room temp, I ate some but by then it was cold so I left the remainder. I told 2 staff that the meal was served luke warm, both said 'Sorry' and went on to do other things. This was a disappointing response for a repeat customer who has eaten there probably over 150+ times. Per other reviews, I believe I must have come here at a bad time, 2pm on a weekday. You could say I'm spoiled, as years ago I was introduced to Monterrey's Mexican restaurant on 92 at I-575. Regardless of the time of day or what day, they're always good. Even at their worst, they're great. So I guess my take on Viva is tainted. When at Viva, they were slow, but plenty of employees present. A menu was presented and a few minutes later, my server came back and asked what I wanted. Still looking at the menu intently, I asked if she'd give me a minute, since it was my first time there. During the 20 minute wait, with my menu obviously placed on the table, several other customers came in and were served as I patiently waited. Had I not been hungry, I'd have left. Nobody wants to be forgotten at a restaurant. Sadly, though the food temperature was warm, it wasn't too tasty. Guess I got here on one of their bad days. I'll try them one more time, but that's all. Yes, as mentioned above, Monterrey's does have me spoiled ( fantastic food & service), but no one likes to be ignored in a restaurant, especially if they're hungry! read more

I would rate it about a B, however I had to drop that to a C due to their wanting to charge me an additional $1.25 for a sprinkle of raw onions. I made it clear that this was way over the top and they reduced it to 70 cents, which in my opinion is 70 cents more than it should be. So the burger/fries at Viva Mexico are off my list of things to order as far as I am concerned a hamburger with no onions is just dead cow. Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch after running errands. The place was pretty empty but people were starting to trickle in as we were seated. The margarona was really good although high priced at $12 and the margaritas were way too sweet so I'd never order one with out a corona. The food was just ok. It is a pleasure to visit a restaurant and only have nice things to say. That is how I feel about my visit to "Viva Mexico." I am not a fan of Mexican food, the group I was with chose this place. The place was packed this night, in spite of the crowd we were seated in less than five minutes. Everyone we encountered was kind, courteous and professional. I tried the Camarones a la Diabla-Shrimps grilled and covered with a very spicy diabla sauce.Served with rice and avocado salad. Very good choice, but be warned it's not for the casual diner, it is hot. You also can't miss if you order the; Paella Mexicana Grilled steak, chicken, shrimp, seafood, onions, tomatoes and bell peppers casserole topped with shredded, melted cheese. Served on a bed of rice with salad and three tortillas. Two of the guests I was with agreed that this place serves the best margaritas in town. This is as good as it gets! read more

Seems like the female staff here is more on the ball than the males. I haven't tried any drinks here as far as mixed drinks or Margaritas, but I can speak for the beer; it's always cold and refreshing and they serve 32oz mugs. For food here the queso dip is a little watery, but ok. The fajita quesadilla is probably my favorite; the steak is always very tender and the blend of onions, peppers, and cheese are on point. This Canton location is our go-to restaurant for Mexican Food. We are regulars, with typically two visit a week. The food is excellent, the service is generally fast (sometimes they are busy and the wait is extended), and the staff is always nice and attentive. Granted prices did go up some since COVID but they did almost everyplace. We will continue to frequent Viva! read more

Wow!!!! I just had lunch here today and I've gotta say I am deeply disappointed! I've eaten here before years ago and it was ok food but I guess they must have changed things up. I ordered the #3 combination on the dinner menu. It's a taco, Chile relleno, and an enchilada. 3 items!!! $9.00! The price isn't the problem but what they served me was. I got a beef taco that was dry and tasteless. A "Chile relleno" that had a piece of green pepper less than an inch long, a scoop of beef and some breading on it. No sauce no cheese??? Finally a chicken enchilada that was about as big as a taquito from QT. I showed the waiter the little piece of green pepper and I said what is this? His answer?? He giggled! Unbelievable!!! I will never waste another dime here nor should you. It's just not worth it especially with all the other Mexican Restaurants in the Canton area. Very sad place!! read more
