Great food and a nice casual spot to visit for great food. The fish I had was excellent.

I reserved a table for five here for Mother's Day because we've had mostly good experiences here, haven't been in a little while, and they had both crab cake Benedict and bottomless mimosas on the prix fixe menu, two of my wife's favorite things. They were clearly understaffed, which was apparent from checking in with the hostess. The line of people waiting to check in with her caused the waiter taking desserts downstairs to have to wait up to five minutes with that tray. Once we were seated, we thought things might go better. Crab cake Benedict was the #1 choice for my wife and BIL, but the kids' menu didn't have the chicken and waffles the guy who called to confirm my reservation had mentioned. That was no problem because my kids have learned to find something to eat wherever we take them, and I ordered chicken and waffles to share with them because I love my kids and knew I would get enough food one way or another. The mimosa came in a wine glass because they had run out of flutes, which was fine by my wife, but she said they tasted heavier on the juice than on the prosecco. My waffles came out a bit burnt, but they replaced them with no problem when we pointed it out. My kids got fresh waffles, and I enjoyed the burnt ones. The chicken was one decent piece for a person, but split between my daughter and me was less than I had hoped for. Thankfully, the salad was a decent appetizer. When the crab cakes Benedict came, we were shocked to see a mess of scrambled eggs on a thin crab cake with an English muffin under. We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. I don't know that we'll be back. With the abundance of good restaurants in our area, it's going to be hard to justify returning here. read more

We were driving back from Atanta taking the scenic route, and sough out a local interesting dinner option. This place fit the bill. Quite nice server, we were there just after brunch so lots of options from both menus were available. You can tell it's a locals place, which is totally fine. It's a big restaurant with a big dining room, an interesting surprise to be on the little town square in a little town. What we ate: Poppyseed salmon - meh. Bit dry and not much flavor. Ribeye- good flavors along with garlic Mash. ($47 though was but pricey for the Size) Wings - basket of supersize wings. Guessing not organic birds. Fuggedaboutit pizza- good dough. Not fan of The tomato base. Service was a bit slow at times. Waiters are social And like to hang at back and gather so we had to Go get them at one point to take our order. Good selection of drinks. Music is good and layout is comfortable. My wife and I were wanting Sunday brunch. Our usual haunts were either over crowded our our taste buds were rebelling against the norm. My wife had heard of Local on North through an acquaintance and the drive was fairly short. Off we went. Parking so pretty good in downtown Canton. We weren't the closest but the walk was quick. Ambience: It's a cool place, lots of space, very laidback. Service: top notch. Our server was quick to respond, quick to bring drinks, quick to help with suggestions. Food: I had the crab cakes eggs Benedict. Amazing. Truly amazing. Five stars, all day long. Price: not bad. Less than a trip to our usual haunts. It's a great place in downtown Canton. Love the bar seating area, which is where we sat tonight. Service from the bartender was efficient and friendly. I had the grilled grouper tacos and Charro beans and they were just right! My wife had the Shrimp Diavlo and she said it was a bit too spicy, but overall very good. Great service and a fabulous brunch experience with my besties! Located in downtown Canton, this little hidden gem is worth a visit next time you're in the area. We were able to get a table for 3 immediately upon walking in on a Sunday morning around 11:30am which was super convenient as we had to be somewhere else in Adairsville by 1:30pm. Our server was so friendly and attentive, and the food came out SO fast! We all decided to share a few different menu items including the Capicola Ham Eggs Benedict, the Fried Chicken Biscuits and Gravy, and the Chicken Banh Mi Spring Rolls which was off the lunch menu under their starters. I also decided to order a cup of their Made Right Onion Soup which is a different take on French Onion (more cream based). We went for our anniversary last night and it was amazing. Our server was super helpful and so nice. I am currently with a walker due to a back injury and they got us a table I could access which is beyond helpful. He recommended the catch of the day (was a cod dish with au gratin potatoes) and it was so amazing. My wife got the goat cheese appetizer and it is a must get, I'm not usually a fan but the flavor profile is so deep and honestly one of the best versions I have ever had. She also got the crab cakes and they were amazing, the flavor is old bay as expected and the consistency is what you want from a crab cake. We decided to end the night with 3 deserts to take home and I will say crème brule you should have there for sure when it's fresh. The pecan pie with vanilla ice cream is beyond amazing (seasonal desert this week), and tonight we are going to have the cheese cake empanada which looks amazing. This is a great place that you can come casual but have an amazing meal. We spent about 200 for everything including tip and it was worth it for the time we spent, the quality of the ingredients in the dishes, and the ambiance the place has. read more

My husband had reserved a table at Local On North in Canton, GA for Thanksgiving Dinner. Price for 2 people was $135. The table was reserved for 7.15 pm. We got several calls from the restaurant asking us if we were still coming and if we could come sooner. (That should have been a give-away!!) Upon arrival we noticed that there were only 2 more tables seated and almost finished with their dinner, which means, we were the last couple to be serve (again, give-away). The decor of the restaurant was pleasing although it was in cold there. They must have turned off the heat because of only 2 people left as dinner guests. They had a limited menu ('Local Salad", Thanksgiving Staples consisting of 'Fresh baked rolls', whipped butter and Cranberry Sauce". Main course was to choose from, namely Organic Turkey, New York Strip and North Atlantic Salmon. Accompaniments were Mashed Potatoes, Fried Brussel Sprouts, Herb Stuffing, Cauliflower Gratin and Roasted Haricot Vert i.e. Chrispy Onions + Wild Mushroom Ragot. Desserts were Cheesecake, Pumpkin Pie Tart and Chocolate Sorbet. Well, the salat was ok with pretty nice dressing, but then it started. My husband ordered the salmon, which he said was ok, except that it was the tiniest piece of fish you can imagine. I ordered the Turkey, after all it was Thanksgiving, but was informed that 'we ran out of turkey but can give you chicken instead and will deduct money from your order'! What was I to do, since I do not eat red meat or fish! My dinner arrived, no cranberry sauce (since I did not have turkey, they figured I did not need the cranberry sauce - wrong). The Brussel sprouts were black, burnt and cold. Did not eat these. The Haricot Vert looked truly awful (as if someone had gotten sick - excuse the comparison - but I have photos of my food). I asked for the dinner rolls but they were out of these as well, so brought me some stale French bread. So all in all I did not eat much of this very expensive 'dinner' but took the left overs for my chickens. Dessert: I ordered the Chocolate Mousse which was actually chocolate pudding, not mousse and was ordinary. The presentation of the food was bad and really sorry looking; again I have photos of that. Everything thrown on the plate, which made the whole plate even worse looking (photos available!). I do not understand how anyone can recommend this restaurant because we certainly will never recommend it, on the contrary, will advise anyone NOT to go there and pay a lot of money for less than mediocre food. read more

Updating my review to 5 stars. This has become one of our staple go-to places in downtown Canton. They've really come a long way and deserved of a upgraded 5 star review. The Mediterranean Chicken Pasta my menu favorite but the salads with Salmon, the beet Salad, and the tacos are all awesome. Great ambience and service has really improved to make it our frequent destination in Downtown Canton. Well done management and chefs! read more

Took a friend to lunch today and was treated so poorly by what appeared to be a manager or owner. I had my service animal with me and was immediately approached by a woman scowling at me and asked to see my service animal documentation. I showed her the documentation and as she looked over it, she told the hostess "You can get these on the internet" and turned and walked away again scowling. Guess it would've sucked if I had a seizure in her restaurant? Local used to be my favorite restaurant but will never return and hope those reading this review will consider one of the other fabulous restaurants in Canton. The sad thing is I loved our server-he was the best. One person with a bad attitude can ruin it though. read more

I've had a couple of very good experiences here but today was enough to make me not want to come back. We took my Mom to the fixed price, three course Mother's Day Brunch and it was clear from the start they were having problems. We had a reservation for 5 adults and two kids. They wanted to put us a high top table. Uh, not really with small kids. They got us to a normal table but it took an hour and 15 minutes to get the first course out-soups and salads. Salad was nearly dry. One of the kids didn't get their food and we had ask repeatedly for it. Nearly 30 more minutes for entrees, which looked thrown together and were average. Mine came with one tiny piece of piece of broccoli as the veg. Others who were supposed to have "brunch potatoes"as a side, got a pile of soggy over cooked French fries- the same ones that came with the kids menu chicken tenders. Server didn't apologize, keep us posted on the delay or even check in regularly. Dessert was generic. It was busy but not even all the tables were full, so the crowd should have been manageable, especially with a limited menu. For $65/person it was massively disappointing experience, bordering on a rip-off. read more

At it's core I'll say I enjoyed my food and the atmosphere, but our server wasn't the most attentive today which could be because it was lunch, we sat at the bar, or because we ordered waters to start or Who knows? Could've just been an off day. I definitely have more menu items I want to try and I'll give them another shot from all the stellar reviews, but I was underwhelmed today for lunch. I was meeting my mom for lunch and Local on North has been highly recommended by several friends in the community so we decided to try it out. She arrived before me and got a seat at the bar and ordered a water. I arrived shortly after and quickly also ordered a water. From there it was awhile before we were asked if we wanted anything else. We ordered our lunch (grouper tacos and beet salad with salmon). Once we placed our order we weren't asked if we wanted anything else or checked in on until our food was brought to us (which I WAS going to order a cocktail)We were checked on once more after about 15-20min or so and went ahead and got boxes. My mom liked the tacos, but said she'd probably get something different next time. I liked my salad, but the salmon was over cooked. Good flavor combinations overall though. I was honestly surprised we weren't asked if we'd been here before or told about any specials or anything. I did hear another server go over some menu items with a table and they seemed very attentive to their tables. So far I'd say it was a relatively pricey lunch and not entirely worth it. From all of our friends recommendations I will give it another try, but so far not impressed. Will update after a return visit. read more

Long overdue review but since I was just notified I am now Duchess of local on north because I come here so much By far my favorite restaurant in canton. Food is delicious. And they always have specials and soups that so good. My favorite soup is the clam chowder and butternut squash. If you're lucky enough to come here on one of those days.. try it. You won't regret it. Food: Steak frites.. is usually what hubby always gets. Margheritta pizza is DELICIOUS. It's usually what we get when I order take out. I love the Atlantic salmon or Diablo pasta. (It comes spicy so make sure to ask for none if that's not your style) And always try the specials because they never disappoint read more

2nd time I ate there was totally disappointed. Completely over charged for rib eye and tuna steak. rib eye wasn't even 1/2" thick same with tuna. The price for that steak was outrageous. When my husband and I were brainstorming wedding ideas, I reached out to Local On North to see about hosting our reception there. The woman I spoke to was very helpful and even made some suggestions that I appreciated a great deal. I called on a Sunday and she said the catering or events manager was out of the office, but I would hear from them during the week. I believe I let a week and a half go by, as I realize businesses get very...busy. But I did want further information as the information she provided could've affected our choice in venue in addition to the catering. So I called again and spoke to a gentleman who was less warm than his counterpart. I explained that I had called previously and was expecting to hear from the catering manager. He also said they were unavailable but he took my information and said he would pass it along. So that was the end of January and I never heard from anyone. Clearly, I thought their menu sounded great since I approached them to cater my reception, but as they are not in need of my money, I've elected to visit other local restaurants first. read more

I've moved to Canton, Ga back in September of 2024 and Local on North is hands down the best restaurant to go to!! The food is absolutely delicious and never disappoints. The service is top notch and the best waiter to request for your table on your next visit is Angel. He's fantastic and he always remembers my usual drinks and appetizers. Besides the food and service, if you enjoy music, they always have live music on Friday and Saturday nights to help keep the atmosphere alive. I would highly recommend everyone to at least try Local on North once in they are in the area or traveling through. read more

5 stars for my server. She was outstanding. I started with a bloody Mary. They use a mix and it's so good I asked for the name. It's called Charleston I think . The cocktail was presented beautifully by the bartender. We were the first customers to arrive at the restaurant. Even though it was empty the music was loud. My husband had a coffee. Drip coffee is all that's available sadly. My friend had a prosecco. I ordered the ahi tuna burger and my husband had the meat burger while my friend ordered the special of the day. The food was average. That's all I can say. Would I go back? Maybe. I would not order the same dishes. The starters and desserts look amazing. All in all if they upped their flavors I would have rated it higher. The great service saved the day. read more

Excellent experience! My wife and I had dinner here this evening with some friends. Food, service, appetizers, music; everything was great!

The high price is for the interior decoration more than the food. The portions and service were adequate. And a few of the food items were flavorful, but the experience didn't live up to the cost. Two huge levels offer a lot of seating and some of the tables are sized to accommodate large groups. The heating was inadequate for the winter weather, however, and the cold stone floor and drafty dining area forced diners to keep their heavy coats on. The staff were mildly friendly. Our waitress was working both tables and the bar, so it was hard to get drink refills. I had the steak frites and the steak was flavorful and cooked to order. The fries on the top were crispy. While those on the bottom were soggy with au jus. The side of greens were whole leaf and there was minimal effort in presentation or preparation and was very off-putting. My wife's salad suffered from the same gigantic pieces. She did, however, find her onion soup excellent. read more
