I have been a loyal customer and have visited this salon at least 4-5 times for nail and pedicure services. Just a month ago, I spent nearly $250, including tips, for a pedicure and acrylic nail extension service, and I left satisfied. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was completely unacceptable. I booked an appointment simply to have my gel removed. Despite having an appointment, I was made to wait for over 30 minutes. When I was finally attended to, the technician seemed overwhelmed, distracted, and more focused on everything else happening around him than on the customer sitting in front of him. Multiple times, he used the electric file on my natural nails instead of the gel, causing discomfort and repeatedly apologizing afterward. What frustrated me most was that he kept walking away, talking to other people, and taking his eyes off my hands while working on me. The entire service felt rushed and careless. I couldn't help but feel that because I was only paying for a $20 service, I wasn't considered worth the time or attention given to higher-paying customers. I completely understand that Fridays are busy. However, if the salon is too busy to provide proper service, then appointments should not be accepted. I took the time to travel there, spend my money, and honor my appointment, only to receive a service that felt rushed, inattentive, and frankly worthless. Bamboo Nails has many positive reviews, and I have personally had good experiences there before. That is exactly why this visit was so shocking and disappointing. It wasn't a super fast wax, and in fact it took some time (about 35-40m , realistically), but I've had plenty of fast waxes in my life only to get home later and find lots of little hairs still hanging around. Not this time! I knew it looked and felt good when I left, but it wasn't until later when I was at home showering that I realized that, perhaps for the first time in my two decades of waxing, I was really, truly, completely bare. I can't tell you how clean and amazing it feels! As for pain, which I see as collateral damage, but I totally understand is the dealbreaker for many people: Kendra has a great method that actually protects you from excessive pain, even in the tenderest of spots. She's also very cautious to instruct you to take a deep inhale when she knows it will be more harsh, which helps tremendously. Overall, it barely hurt at all, and I definitely had NO lingering pain when I left (which is not always the story with waxing). Kendra has a client for life in me.
