Absolutely amazing service by Teresa - she was efficient and I think she created the best round shape out of all the nail techs I've been to. The interior is nice and clean but surprisingly busy for a Wednesday - then again it's the Wednesday before Christmas so maybe it should have been expected. I came with my fiance's sister and she was getting her nails done for the first time ever. Overall a great experience and high quality for being done in such a timely manner. I'd definitely come back, though I'm not often in the Richmond area. While I got natural nails with tip extensions this time around, they have a large color variety so It'd be fun to get something colorful or shiny next time. read more

Bad Vibe. I had an appointment for a pedicure and showed up 5 minutes prior. Asked for help picking a color and had the checkin person just walk away. She cane back a few minutes later and helped me pick a color after the 2nd time I asked and then told me to have a seat. Ten minutes after my scheduled appointment another lady (Asian) walked up to the desk after having a manicure and said that she had decided to go ahead and get a pedicure as well. She was taken straight back. After a few more minutes I asked who was the manager. I was then taken back to a chair. The technician then came up to me and explained that she had fortunately had a no show so she would be able to work on me. I had multiple people walk in after me, offered water (which I was not) and taken straight to a chair. Some were white, some were Asian so I am not thinking it was a racial thing. I took my two 9 year old nieces and my 13 year old nephew to this spa today for a mani pedi, their first. I asked the lady at the desk how much it would be so I could figure out how much to tip the ladies. She told me that a children's mani pedi was $35.00. When I got back to my sister's house, I saw that they charged me $50.00 for each child. I called back and the same lady who told me $35 said, "oh, sorry, it is $50 each". So, you see someone from out of town treating their young nieces and nephew and decide to rip me off? Do not go to this spa! They are dishonest. When I get home, I plan file a formal complaint with the consumer affairs office in Henrico County. Very dishonest business practices. read more

I stopped in for a pedicure. It was very easy to make a appointment but I found parking to be a little challenging. The facility seemed clean. We were seated quickly with a short wait. I feel like the specials are a little unclear. I believe I read there is a special on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but no one seemed to know about it. I didn't care much for the foot and leg massage I received. I ended up paying $54 for an ok service not including tip. Apparently if you pay cash you get two punches on the punch card but that seemed unclear as well. I would love to see more transparency. I decided to go to this salon today since I was nearby and have friends who go and raved about it. I had one of the worst manicures today. The nail tech was completely rushed and didn't even give me a full manicure. The gel doesn't cover my nail, the gel extensions are uneven, and she left glue all over my hands. She didn't even put lotions on my hands. She just put cuticle oil on and told me to wash my hands after. Why would I wash my hands after you put cuticle oil on? I also got my eyebrows waxed and she made of the tails of my eyebrow significantly shorter than the other. I'm honestly not the type to write bad reviews but I was honestly shocked by the result. Sadly, my time as a customer at Luxury has come to an end. My last appointment was extremely frustrating. I usually get shellac on my nails and regular polish on my toes. But, there are challenges with either finding gel colors with a regular polish match or those with matches not visibly matching. As I've shared previously, the beauty industry has been affected by COVID tremendously so nail color manufacturers just aren't producing like they used to. However, I believe there's a responsibility of the salon to their customers to better organize and track the nail colors a bit better. It would be nice if the salon kept track of and organized the colors by those that actually have a shellac and regular polish match and visibly match. read more

I have been frequenting this salon since I moved to the Glen Allen area about four years ago. About a year ago, I moved from the Glen Allen area and now live about 25 minutes from Luxury Nails + Spa. However, I still make the drive as I have always had positive visits here when it comes to service, pricing, etc. I even left one time unhappy with my nails (which was my fault because I tried to go longer than I knew I would like) and I made an appointment to come back and have them shortened. I was given the same nail technician and she did the adjustment for me free of charge! Of course, I tipped her but it was customer service at it's finest. Most of the technicians have a slew of regulars and at peak times, you may have to wait to get your nails done but it is definitely worth it! I had one of the worst pedicures and gel manicures I have ever had. I was barely massaged during my pedicure and instead the nail tech, Kathy, ran her nails down my legs in a scratching motion. It was so uncomfortable. I asked foe white chrome on top of my gel manicure, the top coat was all over the place and Kathy used silver chrome adding an "aluminum foil" effect instead of the pearl blue I wanted (and paid $84 for). There is also chrome all over my cuticles and it looks so messy. Giving 2 stars because I came back in and another tech, Anne, tried to fix all of the issues caused by Kathy. read more

I was visiting my daughter and wanted to get a French manicure before we left for a three week trip out west. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Luxury Nails & Spa was open on July 4th. It adjoins the neighborhood and when I walked in with my granddaughter they made an appointment for us. I had my first dip powder manicure and was very pleased with the procedure and the outcome. This place was very ok. It seems luxury when you walk but it is kind of unsanitary . The pedicure was fine but when I got to the manicure, they used an already wet towel with nail clippings from someone else as my own towel, the fan was blowing nail dust, and they were using tools from a very gross and unclean bowl. LOVE their massage chairs. One of my close friends took me here as a birthday treat/start to a partying evening. I had gotten a lady named Pam who started me out on my pedicures. It surprising got crowded within the next hour around the afternoon. ANYWAYS, we didn't make any appointments and they were able to fit us in easily. The massage chairs in the back were amazing! I totally abused the crap out of the chair while I was getting my toesies done. Pam did a really great job on my toes (especially since I have a non-existing toe nail on my pinkie). (It's been about 3 weeks and the colors still look freshly painted on. As for my manicure, I had someone else who did it. She didn't really say much, but was efficient and clean when she did them. Got a quick hand massage at the end and it was done. Not a bad job at all. I guess it's because I use my hands a lot, the nail polish did not stay on that long. It's a nice spot to get your nails done, but just a little bit too far out in the West End to make it a routine. (My friend took me there since it's the closest one to her place.) I have visited this nail salon a few times over the past couple of years and every time I leave more and more disappointed. Last time I went in, I asked for a full set of acrylic nails, nothing more (the price should have been around $30). I ended up getting charged over $50, not including tip, for the visit! She asked me if I wanted gel nails twice, and twice I told her no thanks, just the acrylic like I asked. Guess what she ended up doing? Giving me gel nails and charging me for it, even though I clearly said I didn't want them. Then, I went back a few days ago to get an acrylic fill and one nail repair. I told them this is what I needed/wanted done when I went in there. Low and behold, the lady starts fiddling with my other nails and ends up FORCING two other nails off so she could get more money (its $3 per repair). I told her that I had just gotten a brand new set and there was only one broken nail that needed a repair, and that I didn't understand why she was trying to pull off more nails, and she just laughed. My nails look fine, but she was rushing and messed up while filing down my nails a number of times. Two of my nails burned, and one of them started bleeding. The only good thing I can say is that I didn't have any cash to pay the tip (you can only pay the tips in cash), and they let me run to the FoodLion to get cash back so I could pay her. She was super sweet and nice and talked to me but focused and did a great job! I love the set up of their location because it's not everything in one big room, we were in one of the rooms with 4-6 pedicure chairs and so it was quiet and the massage chair was exactly what I needed. Ok, so I'm not a big manicure/pedicure at the salon person. I LOVE nail polish, but typically I just paint my own. Seriously, I have a nail polish collection that rivals those found at an actual nail salon (Essie, I should probably own stock in you). But today I joined friends for a girls outing at Luxury to try shellac for the very first time. A bunch of my friends swear by shellac, so I figured it was about time I tried it out for myself. The salon itself is open, bright and super clean. The manicure seats are split into pairs, with two sets on either side of the room. The reception desk is located front and center, with a row of seats and hand dryers located behind it. The pedicure chairs are towards the back, and I'm assuming the waxing rooms are located past the pedicure area (I didn't go back there myself). The technician who did my nails was super sweet and didn't treat me like an idiot for not knowing how to use the UV light machine that hardens the polish. If you've never gotten shellac, it's quite the interesting process - in between each coat of polish you put your hands under a UV light to cure and harden the coat. Then at the end, your nails are sprayed with alcohol, wiped, and voila! No wet nails! That's seriously the best part - no need to worry about smudging your newly perfect manicure. It's $28 for shellac, and all purchases are 5% off if you pay by cash or check. I never carry either, so I used credit, but next time maybe I'll bring some cash money. Yea, yea, 5% isn't a lot, but every little bit counts, right? Also, they offer frequent visitor punch cards, and after 10 punches you get $10 off a service of $20 or more. Since I just got the manicure today, I can't comment on how well shellac actually holds up. Guess I'll have to update in 2 weeks! read more

I have been here several times mainly for pedicures. The place is usually pretty busy at weekends so I would recommend an appointment . During the week they can fit in walk in quite easily. The salon has about 12 pedicure stations and 12 manicure stations. They also offer waxing and other services. The staff always offer you something to drink and the pedicure chairs recline and have a massage feature. The place seems clean a basic spa pedicure includes leg and foot massage. The parking lot is shared with other business including Rico's tacos and a chiropractor next door so at lunchtime parking can be a challenge. They offer gels and acrylics and solar nails . My pedicures usually last about 3 weeks unless I do something silly like run a shopping cart into my feet! read more

For that price, I got it all: nails clipped and trimmed, buffing, clay mask towel wrap (or you can choose paraffin), hot stone/oil massage knee down, and polish. Not good... very underwhelming. I was so excited to treat my wife and daughter for us to get three pedicures. It has been a full year since the pandemic started and we were so excited to get our feet pampered. What we got instead was a very rushed (25 min start to finish, including wife and daughter painted toes) and hasty pedicure. The staff was cold and did not greet us at all, they frequently looked at there watches and were obviously under pressure to turn over the chairs to new customers. The Classic pedicure was what each of us chose, they did not even give us a minute to soak our feet. In fact, my water was so scalding they had to remove 2 buckets of water from the tub. Once the water temp was ok I did not even get to soak in the water for any amount of time. The nail tech immediately started on my feet and it was so painful and rough. They use disposable kits with a file, sponge, cuticle stick and pusher. They instead used the metal cuticle tool that looked like it was sanitized but my foot feels like it might be infected. The worst part is they did not even scrub off the callouses. Perhaps if my foot soaked longer it would have been better. The massage part was painful as the nail tech just aggressively and hastily rubbed my legs in the same spot over and over until it hurt. Afterward, when mine was done and drained they were just getting started on my wife and daughters toe polish. I then asked if I could get something to finish scrubbing my callouses. They said they would have to charge me for another sponge but then gave me my wives to use. I further scrubbed my own callous as I sat and waited for the ladies to get the toe polish completed. The straw that broke the camels back was the sharp callous left on my little girls' foot. They were rushed again and smudged her big toe polish. When I shared my concerns, they gave me 20% off two of the pedicures ($12 off). It is sad as I was hoping to find a great place right in our neighborhood. Unfortunately - I believe my big toe is now infected. Stay away! read more

I highly recommend this business based on the outstanding service that I received on my first visit. I was warmly welcomed and immediately prepared for a pedicure. Although all of the technicians were friendly I had the pleasure of being attended to by Ms. Jenny who patiently tended to my severely neglected feet. She was gentle, verified exactly what I wanted, checked to make sure that temperatures were comfortable, and went above and beyond my expectations in filing and shaping my nails. I also was pampered by a warm oil and hot rock massage which was wonderful! I also must say that the store was very clean, polishes well stocked of every imaginable color, and I witnessed all technicians washing and sanitizing their used equipment and hands.
