If you have a small move, say a 1 bedroom apartment, you MUST call these guys. They are REMARKABLE. They show up on time, call ahead to confirm, and are incredibly flexible. They have a cube truck to move your things in, and offer wrapping services at no additional cost. They charge a VERY low hourly rate for 2 men, no hidden fees, no gas fees, no mileage fees, no travel time fees, just from when they start to when they finish. Very mannerable, hard working fellas. (Basically moved a bedroom and living room) Three guys showed up with a box truck and carried all my stuff from the third floor of my current place, down narrow and turn-filled stairwells, and up to the third floor of my new place, all without damaging the walls or the furniture. Why yes, I do love Augustin and Luna's. Agustin was amazing and accommodating while planning my strange move (picking up and dropping off loveseats from 2 different locations, helping me move my bed/dresser down one floor), and kept me informed during the entire process. Their rate is the lowest I could find, but definitely not for lack of quality! They have no hidden costs or anything to worry about, like many places I looked at. Also, both houses they picked up furniture from said that they were wicked nice and friendly, and they were attentive and friendly when they got to my place. We hired Luna's Family moving to move us from a 2-bed in Brookline to 1 bed in Boston. They were on-time, fast, professional, and straight-forward. They also have a very good hourly rate and consider them a "hidden gem." They fit everything in the truck for one trip which was great. They deconstructed our glass furnishings and put them back to together at the new place. They advised us on what items could be damaged in the truck so that we could bring in our own car. This is the best team of people I ever met. I called and spoke with Augustin at 9:00 am on a Sunday morning (after a horrible experience with some crazy, price gauging, unprofessional company that should be banned from doing business). The other moving company was suppose to move me by Sunday and arrive with my load by Tuesday. Augustin made arrangements to come to my at 10:30 am and arrive about 15 minutes early. He was very nice and pleasant as we talked about my emergency. He gave me an estimate and I told him my budget. He worked within my budget and scheduled for three men to come the very next day (Monday). They arrived early and immediately starting working. They packed and loaded my stuff under two hours and informed me the time they would arrive the next day for delivery. The next day was the scheduled delivery and two men arrived early again. I forgot to mention that these were young men. They were polite, professional and finished everything within a couple of hours. My move was a long distance move and they could not have made it a more pleasant experience. I HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who wants to be treated with excellence and fairly. We bought a washer, dryer and oven from Warrendale Appliances and Luna's was the company they used for delivery. They were friendly and professional. It turned our that the wrong oven had been delivered, they brought the old one back in and took the wrong one out with no problems. I also had an old hot water tank that I needed removed and I asked them while they were there if they could take it and they removed from the house for $40. I would absolutely use them again for moving. read more

I needed to schedule movers on pretty short notice (about a week), and they were able to fit me in exactly on the date and time I wanted. They showed up on time and quickly and efficiently moved my furniture out of the old place, and into the new place. They were also significantly less expensive than any of the movers I looked into, and they did not require a deposit. My only complaint is they weren't super careful with my furniture unless I specifically pointed out a piece I wanted them to take care of. To be fair though, we were in a time crunch and I told them to move quickly. Overall, I would definitely recommend Luna's in the future, and would use them again. read more

The time is approaching when many of us have to move again. I have used Fabios Moving in the past and have been VERY pleased with Fabios. However, this year they were already booked the day I needed. As I began to call other places, I remembered I used Luna's two years ago and recalled how much they sucked! When I used them,I told them weeks in advance that I had an average sized one bedroom and to bring a truck large enough to hold typical one bedroom furniture. Instead, they brought a baby sized truck and crammed only part of my furniture in there. We had to make two trips (40 min drive each way) to a self storage facility to accommodate all of the furniture because the truck was so small. One of the movers was fairly efficient but the other one dragged his feet and had a crappy attitude. He was so slow that I was actually doing most of the moving of boxes for them!! I had to keep pulling the boxes from the truck because he was too busy checking his text messages! Despite my giving them a good tip, they still were sullen and bitter. Insult to injury: When finally moved, I noticed a file cabinet was bashed in on the side and my wood desk had a big chip on it. Augustin basically said I was lying and told me what a "good deal I got" I would NOT recommend these people at all. CALL FABIOS! read more

I had many moves done by Augustin years ago and was all perfect, smart guy with smart helper. But the last move he was contracted to do for me, he didn't do it himself, and didn't told me he was not doing it. The crew that was sent were young unrelated boys doing no attempt to move furniture without breaking them. For example, they will put a wood furniture corner on the pavement and rotate it, making a very visible mark on that furniture. My understanding is that Augustin is not doing any moving himself anymore, so you should stay away if you don't want random result. It's a classic issue with hiring contractor, the smart guy shows-up, sell you something, then you get dummies to do the job and the smart guy is not even there when the work occur. read more

These guys are AWESOME. Seriously. You have to call them. First things first: they are SO affordable!! Ridiculously cheap compared to everyone else. I love the simple pricing as well - flat hourly rate based on number of guys and truck size. Literally ZERO other fees. Every other moving company I talked to had higher rates to start with, and then nickel and dime you at every turn - travel fees, wrapping fees, and all sorts of other little things. Not Agustin! The cost is as listed, period. No games, no surprises. I didn't even ask him to, but he wrapped a bunch of my furniture, no extra cost. In the planning - Very clear and straightforward, flexible move dates (he even emailed me when he got a cancellation, to see if I wanted to switch times). friendly, communicative. Leading up to my move, I spoke with Agustin on the phone, we confirmed via email and he answered my questions, and then he texted me the day of my move to give me precise updates about arrival time. They showed up within 5 minutes of the time he said! These guys are very dependable, and I love that you always speak directly with Agustin himself. Moving day - Came on time. The 3 guys were all very good-natured, respectful, and worked hard. I had some very heavy furniture, and they never complained. In 2 hours, they moved my one-bedroom apartment from a 3rd story walk-up to another 3rd story walk-up. I had a bed, futon, dresser, desk, 2 big old tvs and tv stands, and a bunch of boxes - it was amazing. These guys don't mess around. They also had a huge truck - I could have had twice as much stuff. Agustin was also very patient and easy-going when there were logistical issues figuring out parking, best entrances to use, etc. I couldn't be happier with Lunas!!! We moved 3 times in 3 years, cross town then cross country then 100 feet and have never experienced the level of service we received from Augustin, Carlos and Hector. We have thousands of books, some custom made furniture, a fair amount of design within reach stuff we love, and this crew wrapped everything as though it was their own, including the piano (!), and not a single box was crushed. They were on time, reasonably priced, worked HARD for about 10 hours moving into an 1880s Victorian house with 3 floors, narrow staircases, and freshly refinished wooden floors and paint. Not a nick or scratch on our belongings or the house, truly amazing. They even put the boxes in the right rooms, no laziness at all!! Even more so compared to the big guys (try using the moving insurance you buy with them, we finally gave up and paid for repairs ourselves). I wouldn't recommend using this moving company. They damaged furniture and lost parts to our bench press and treadmill. They also put something on top of a very expensive bureau which left numerous indentations on the top of the bureau. They also scratched the top of a china cabinet and banged the corner of it and a small bit of wood was broken off. read more

Agustin, the company's owner, was very professional. He was nice, and responsive and even though this time I needed them for a small job, they still approached the task seriously. They also charged very reasonably. They had a moving job in the morning and Agustin estimated they would be at my place between 1:30 and 2pm. He couldn't have been any more punctual. I used Luna's family moving twice. The first time was a move between an apartment and a storage space. I used their truck for that move. The second time, they unloaded my furniture from the storage space and they loaded it in the Uhaul truck I had rented for an out of state move. I only haver praise for Luna's family. Both time Augustine and his assistant were very professional, honest, hard working, careful with my furniture and friendly. All of this made the experience of moving very smooth and easy. Also, Augustine did a terrific job when loading my truck. making sure that everything was tight.
