Today August 10, 2022, I stopped by the "Lunch Box" a Deli that has been bringing in high praise for their great hoagies, but breakfasts as well. As I walked in, I noticed that the front door was boarded up and a temporary door was installed. I asked the owner and he explained to me that, on August 3, a motor vehicle backed out, hit a utility pole, and then accelerated right into the building. When the fire department arrived, they found a Honda had struck the front of the business causing damage and shifting of a load-bearing wall. The Lunch Box had to temporarily close. The Lunch Box on 9 th. Anyway, I went in and ordered the time-tested Pork roll, egg, and cheese (PEC) on a Kaiser roll. After a short wait, my breakfast sandwich came out all wrapped up in foil. It smelled yummy. I went up to the Dunkin and got an iced coffee and sat in my jeep and enjoyed the best pork roll egg and cheese sandwich I have ever eaten, and mind you I have had plenty. The roll was soft but had a great crust, the egg was plentiful, and the amount of pork roll was OMG just breathtaking all covered by a creamy melted cheese. I will be coming back to this deli for sure. The prices are a bit high at $17.99 for a whole hoagie, but if it is anything like the PEC sandwich, it will be well worth it. In closing, if you are looking for a great hoagie come to the "Lunch Box" I can assure you, with their style and generous amounts of meat, and great service, you will not be disappointed. read more

Ive waited to write this for a while and have not been there since summer but they need to know some thoughts from the customers. For the last 2 years myself and my fishing buddies would always get our hoagies and sandwich there and the food is very good thats why I am leaving 4 star to not affect the overall rating but thier customer service is below a star and not even worthy of a rating. We always call ahead of time to make an order, most times they do not answer the phone or it is constantly busy. We call 20 mins ahead of time or more but when we get there you usually have to wait another 10-15 mins since they did not even start it yet. When you walk in the door you have to wait in a long line of people "ordering" food, I already ordered, i just want to pick it up. The staff is always just not friendly, not rude but not nice. You walk in the door, no one ever greets you, mostly the guys who are the owners I think seem to not care about the customers. It is ALWAYS unorganized and even the lady that works the counter barely says hello or ask you to help. How about this, get an APP!!! If you cant answer the phone get an app so we can order, its not hard. Also, when I call in an order, let me prepay and have it ready on a table. You need to figure out the mess at your counter! I dont like the Jersey hoagies guys that much down the road but they have an app, the meal is ready when I walk in, they are friendly!! And seriously, why dont you have CPR, Cherry Pepper Relish??? You are a NJ sub shop and have no CPR, REALLY???? You have great food but your service and counter are horrible!!!! Well I am adding to my review after the response from owner, Yes, for the past 2 summers you were open and we waited in your lines with your rude service. YEs, I did ask for CPR and was told you were getting it by the lady at the counter. Great your busy, how about being nice to people or even saying hello when they walk in which you never do. Your response here is just like your pathetic attidue when customers come into the store. YEs, the food is NEVER ready when you call in over 30 minutes earlier, YES eveyone complains when they wait in your counter lines. Wowzah! Thank you Food God's for bringing this place to us. We needed a good sandwich spot around here! Stopped in to try it, as it's new to the area. Owner was super nice. I asked for hot sauce in my pork roll n' egg sandwich and he offered me a taste of his homemade stuff. Aye Caramba! Smokey chipotle hot sauce with a punch! Got that smothered all over my breakfast roll. Well lemme tell ya, THAT was a GOOOOOD sandwich! The pork roll was tasty and the egg wasn't over cooked. Picked a sausage, egg n cheese up for my daughter who had eaten it before we even got home! She said it was the best. My tastebuds are still all happy and excited. Depends on who is making the sub. Workers handle the phone, money and other things NEVER wash their hands before making your sub; NEVER change gloves if they are even wearing them. Can see how clean or dirty the grill is, thats hidden along with the counter where they are making your sub. HAIR IN THE SUB IS A TURN OFF for me. My family wanted breakfast but didn't want to get out of our pajamas so we ordered to go from here. I'm not going to lie, unless I have a breakfast sammich I'm not usually a fan of take out breakfast. I ordered pancakes, French toast, a PEChee on a hardroll plus a steak egg and chee with peppers and onions inside of a wrap! Seriously the food was great. I'm going to start with the girth of the pancakes. They put them in a damn pizza box because that's how large they were....they also packed a great amount of butter and syrup ratio to tackle these pancakes on steroids! Love it! My only thought would be to add some buttermilk. You can truly taste the difference and a little goes a long way. The PEChee sammich was dinamite! The key there it was NOT a greasy sloppy mess. It was a well constructed work of art if I do say so myself. There were visible layers of cheese and and pork roll. Just truly a great sandwhich. The wrap was just as great as the other items. Not greasy steak at all which gets bonus points from me. If I'm eating something and grease is dripping down my face I'm not pleased. This did NOT do that. Lots of red peppers and onions too. Absolutely delicious. French toast was very cinnamony and I appreciate that. I think they need to do a better job on the egg wash part. I like to soak my French toast in the egg wash not just dip it. There is a fine line between soggy and slightly submerged. I hope they start making homefries. They have hash browns but I'm not a fan. There isn't any love in a frozen hashbrown.
