We used to love to go here and had become pretty much weekend regulars but haven't been for several months because of work schedules, today was first time back in a while, and it was truly awful. I had the Greek omelette and the feta cheese or something was very bad it smelled and I couldn't even eat it. I got decaf coffee that was cold and I asked to get it warmed up and the response was not friendly, my husband got the western omelette and it was OK. His coffee was hot but was not great when I told our server that there was something wrong with the Greek omelette perhaps the fed ahead gone bad or something. She shrugged her shoulders and said I'll let the Kitchen know and they charged me full price even though I didn't need it. We will not be going back here. read more

My corned beef hash was disappointing- it was light on the corned beef and heavy on the home fries ( which were perfect cooked fortunately). Hubbie's western omelette was perfect. Absolutely the worst cafe/diner my wife and have ever been to. Put aside that I'm a James Beard and Michelin Star chef yes I'm very particular about my food but not a snob but I do critique everything I eat if asked how everything was at a restaurant I give my honest answer. I owned 11 restaurants in NYC and 1 in Barneget and 1 in Manahawkin I had to close the due to several strokes. But enough about me the food at Johnny off Shore cafe was horrible then at the very end of my meal my wife looked at me with the fair of life lol she said I'll tell you later because she knows how I am when it comes to food there was a few black hairs underneath my food I happen not to notice until I tried my best to eat half of my food I asked for the manager the server said he was I showed him the hairs in my food respectfully he said he would take it off the bill right thing to do besides me being sick to my stomach from seeing the hair asked for the bill yes they took my meal of the bill but charged me over 7.00 for a club soda to me that's a low as a restaurant can go take a meal off because of something they caused but make it back on a club soda. What a joke would never eat or recommend this place to anyone even if given a 50.00 gift certificate I would rip it up never want to put someone I know through my experience -0 stars read more

The food was genuinely great--fresh, flavorful, and worth the price. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the meal. Being called 'bro' by a staff member felt unprofessional, and what really crossed the line was how close he got to the person I was with while taking our order. It made both of us uncomfortable, and it's not something you expect when you're simply trying to enjoy a night out. Very yummy, I was passing through town and I sat inside and did some work and had a tuna melt that has me wanting to come back for another. Service was great and it was quiet and easy to get work done (good wifi) but not too quiet, which I like. And I got a chicken parm to go for my boyfriend and it was a large portion and he ate all of it! Highly recommend this place! read more

Amazing FOOD. The delivery took a little while but that wasn't their fault. I ordered a turkey club and added American cheese to my sandwich and ranchero fries to my order . The sandwich was perfectly made and the fries were delicious ! Not too much meat or overwhelming amount of lettuce or unnecessary of anything ! For a quick and easy lunch - absolutely go here. The food was made fresh and tasted homemade ! Ordering process was easy and I was quite happy with everything I received. The ranchero fries were bomb digggggggity. I come here often and there has never been a bad experience here, except for one time we had a bad server (but we never saw her again after that visit, probably for a reason). This place is my family and I's go-to breakfast joint, and the food is priced fairly. Despite how busy it gets throughout the week, Johnny's is always clean and well taken care of, from the dining area to the bar area. If I could recommend one place to go to for breakfast in Ocean County, this place would definitely be it! read more

This was my first time at Johnny's Offshore Cafe, when you first come in you wait for a server to seat you but there is no host stand. The prices were good, solid portion sizes, overall the food was excellent. Our server was a young gentleman, was very nice, paid attention to drink refills and was multi tasking helping many people at the same time. This is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. This is the epitome of "don't judge a book by its cover". While it's located in an older strip mall and the interior is nothing fancy, trust me when I say the food does not disappoint. I went for the early bird dinner special with family last night and experienced some of the best potato pancakes and veal schnitzel I've ever tasted. If you're in the mood for dessert, try to pumpkin cheesecake. You won't care about the calories because it's just that good. One thing I would also like to say too is the people are so incredibly kind but hire more help. The woman serving us was the only waitress and she deserves some more help. read more

Stopped by for breakfast. Nice little restaurant, had a nice amount of people inside on a weekday morning, without being overwhelmed. I got the Huevos Rancheros. I got the eggs scrambled with the crispy tortillas, black beans, pick de gallo, avocado, chorizo, salsa and cojita cheese. It was a delicious plate, with a nice amount of heat to it. Wasn't overbearing at all, and very filling. We had a very tasty meal and really liked the place. Attentive waitstaff and clean atmosphere. Good little breakfast/lunch spot. read more

The food, the service and the ambience were perfect for a lunch dinner place. My wife had the lumberjack breakfast with scrambled eggs, pancakes, extra crispy bacon, and fruit subbed for the home fries. I had the Mediterranean omelette special with rye toast and home fries. The fruit was completely fresh cut, the bacon was perfectly done and my omelette was done well. I highly recommend them and will probably be back tomorrow! read more

I always enjoy the food at Johnny's Offshore. I'm local and go there with family and friends often. Their prices are reasonable and portion size is satisfying. We generally take some home for lunch the next day. I look forward to the specials as they are always unique and tasty. The servers are welcoming, efficient and friendly. You don't need reservations and the atmosphere is casual. The bathroom is always clean. That's important to me. read more

We've gone before but this time was the worst. Saturday morning, super busy. 10 minutes top be seated another 10 for someone to acknowledge us. The food another 15-20 minutes. My French toast was so cold it wouldn't melt butter. Complained and they took it away. Anywhere else they'd make new. Nope ... Microwaved it so it was hot but the French toast was hard inside and bacon that I requested soft was now overcooked. My wife's eggs were hot but toast and home fries were lukewarm. Their breakfast food is very good, I was happy with my pancakes and ham. My mom got the greek salad, and the lettuce was a little wilted. Our biggest problem though was with the staff and the service. One server, who's name I thought I overheard being Lauren, I had a problem with in particular. As soon as we walked in, I heard her loudly ask her coworker who's vodka was in the back. From the looks of things, it was hers. The whole meal she was shouting at other tables, making gibberish noises, and overall being unprofessional. When we were waiting for our check, Lauren came over and asked my mother why she didn't finish her salad. Our server, Rosemary, was very sweet and attentive, if a little needy.
