Lovely local shop - perfect for finding gifts. Unique offerings that are curated for people of all ages. It's out go to spot for getting the perfect card and gift for someone. I love their selection of kids items, jewelry and stationery offerings. They also have fun kitschy things for the friends who have it all. My kids have a hard time walking out of here without wanting something, so their range of price points is also good for that!

My friends and I stopped by as we were walking around and had to stop in bc it's so cute! This charming small business has a variety of items and I had to buy their cute coasters, a cork screw, and a Moomin tote! Samantha welcomed us in and Suzette gift wrapped them perfectly. I'll definitely be back when I'm around the area again!

This charming gift shop is the perfect place to purchase stationary, candles, jewelry, cards, baby gifts, and other quirky and cute gems. It's giving Paper Source Vibes, but is unique because it's locally owned. I went to find a gift for someone and ended up buying a gift for myself because I have no self-control when it comes to cute things. So when I saw the Punch the Monkey sticker I had to buy it and I stand by that decision.

If you have friends going through mercury in retrograde - get them something to deal with it here! This store has a lot of unique trinkets such as greeting cards, kids gifts, candles, beauty care, stationary, and jewelry. I usually come here when I need to get a gift for a baby shower because they have a good selection and they offer free gift wrapping (which is great because my wrapping is terrible). It's a small store but doesn't feel like it's crowded. A bit pricier since they're unique gifts but you can find some inexpensive items too if you really look. Parking is available in the Culver City lots - first hour free.

I made a quick stop inside on my way to lunch cuz it just looks so interesting! There's a gift for just about anyone, and there's so much wonderful things to look at!

Fun small store to browse. Has a bit of everything for gifts - books, knick knacks, jewelry, kitchen tools and a cute kids' section in the back. If I only knew a toddler whom I could buy a "K is for Kamala" shirt. It's pricey but many things like greeting cards are unique. For example, "LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED! so I can be in bed by 11." I'd say the jewelry is most reasonably priced. The employee was nice. The next time I treat myself to earrings, find me here!

Nephew's birthday was around the corner, and I was running out of time and ideas. Randomly walked by Lundeen's one late afternoon, and I was so glad I saw it. The store's descriptions and merch seemed to have what I needed, but it was closed; they close at 6 pm, so if you walk by after standard work hours, they may be closed. I made arrangements to drop by when they were open. When I visited the store during work hours, the employees were wonderful. I told them the age and type of toys I was looking for. They had pretty awesome gifts in mind. I found two books and a whack-a-mole sort of gift. As you can see in the photo, the shop also gift wrapped it for me too. I believe there's a certain price range or item count you need to meet for the gift wrap, but it was a great touch. Nephew loved the books Lundeen's had to offer. Still remembers who bought it for him :)

Such a fantastic gift shop. I would have spent another 30 minutes browsing if I hadn't been dragged out by my family. If I lived closer I'd be a regular.

My #1 go-to for all things gifts even self-purchase (they have really cute jewelry). Plus they do free gift wrapping. Highly recommend!

They also have a fantastic café inside so even if you're not searching for a book or magazine, it's still a great place to grab a bite or drink. There is a covered free parking lot in the back, but it was completely full when I visited so I found free street parking in the neighborhood in the block next to the bookstore. All of the staff that I encountered was very friendly as well. As mentioned the café, attached is terrific and I especially enjoyed their Vanilla Latte and the Turkey Avocado Panini. It was extremely fresh and I loved it. I was not able to find some of the history, business, or philosophy book titles I was searching for so they don't have a huge stock compared to some of the big chains, but I was able to find some alternate titles worth considering. Definitely worth stopping in if you are a bibliophile or in Culver City and I plan to visit again as well.

I love that they have early hours even on weekends for those of us still up at 7am no matter what. Going in at 8am on a Sunday and seeing others already there? *My people* They have "bar" seating along the windows for working use with bar stools. Laptop/reading seating. They have tables and one BIG table for those enjoying café purchases and for those needing back support *cough cough* me. Village Well is just such a nice place to hangout in if you love books and/or need a place to work instead of home so you don't fall asleep. Anywhere that puts passion into books...is my favorite place.

We are coming from San Diego so it was only a 2ish hour drive, we found parking right away which was really nice and I was so so excited to check it out. As soon as you step in you're greeted by such a whimsical display of books and I was instantly obsessed. The bookstore is really large and has so many great options for romance books, ya and some children's books plus tons of bookish merch. It was really hard to choose which book to get, but I ended up getting a paperback of Eldritch by Keri Lake, a magnetic book marker and a tote bag, thank you to my husband for that. I love the little Ripped Bodice tote, instead of a paper bag, they offered a reusable tote for I think $2-5? Which was a fun little souvenier! Also super dog friendly everyone was so sweet to our little Kodi!

I cannot say enough great things about this romance-focused independent bookstore. But here is a…read morevaliant attempt: 1. Expertise -- If you are new to the contemporary romance publishing scene, walk in here and be amazed. There are sooooooo many romance titles under every conceivable subgenre, and the choices are almost endless. But maybe you're looking to expand your list of favorite authors or dipping your toes into romance for the first time, and you feel overwhelmed. Fear not! Walk right up to the friendly staff and just throw out ideas. My friend asked for recommendations of romance that involves: (a) career women who takes care of everyone and needs to prioritize herself; (b) older women with life experience looking for love; (c) romance by black women about black women, just to name a few. The lovely staff member said, "I got you!" and proceeded to walk us around the store to show us her recommendations and share why she loves them. Her passion is infectious! My friend found a stack of books she's excited to read. 2. Creativity -- from the moment you walk in the door, the fanciful and whimsical decor catches your attention and exudes joy and wonder. But don't just admire the flying books all the way to the ceiling or the pink skeleton in a Ripped Bodice t-shirt. You must check out the "water closet" before you go. Trust me on this one. 3. Inclusion -- The Ripped Bodice doesn't just do romance, they do sex-positive, inclusive representation. You'll find curated selections on romance with disability and LGBTQ+ representation, romance by BIPOC authors, non-fiction books about women's sexual health and pleasure, menopause, polyamory, trans bodies, etc. and a gigantic LGBTQ+ rainbow flag made of romance covers. And have I mentioned their monthly stand-up comedy show, which features different comedians who have relatable and funny materials without the mysogynistic cringe. This place is a safe space for people of all genders and sexual orientations. 4. Community -- The spirit of community is everywhere in this amazing bookshop. You see pictures of the sisters who started and own the shop and their family (including kids) on the wall. They have book clubs for fans of historical, fantasy/paranormal, LGBTQ+ romance and more. They have a writing club that reads a book together and discusses what works and what could be better. They have book launches and author talks, including a ton of local authors as well as national phenoms. They attract people from all over and are ultra-local at the same time. And you feel like you belong, no matter who you are. Bonus: the store is in the heart of Culver City. Farmer's market, fancy ice cream, movie theatre, and a cafe that plays soccer all the time... they're all right here. 'Nuf said. Go check them out!!
