If there were a perfect pharmacy, this would be it…read more I have used many pharmacies over the years -- Walgreens, Cub Foods, Allina, mom-and-pop shops, Walmart, United Hospital -- and none of them even come close to Hy-Vee Pharmacy. Walgreens was consistently out of stock, had extremely long wait times, didn't answer the phone, offered rude or unhelpful customer service, and made refunds nearly impossible. Hy-Vee is the complete opposite in every way. Hy-Vee is always in stock, or they will have the medication later the same day or early the next morning. The staff is incredibly kind, patient, and helpful every single time. There has never once been a line in the drive-thru when I've gone to pick up medication. If I need an early refill, they handle everything themselves -- they call the insurance, work it out quickly, and within about 15 minutes the medication is filled and ready for pickup. No stress, no runaround. I once asked if my son's medication could be put in a bottle that's easier to use with a syringe. They not only did it, they noted it on my account -- and they have done it correctly every single time since without me needing to ask again. That level of care is rare. Their free same-day delivery is exactly that -- same day, every time. I've never had a single issue that they couldn't fix or resolve, and they truly go above and beyond. They also have the best medication bottles of any pharmacy I've ever used. Hy-Vee Pharmacy has completely changed my expectations of what a pharmacy should be. I would never go anywhere else.

This is a more upscale grocery store so the prices are a little more expensive than what I'm used to but you do pay for quality and options. They do have quite the selection here. Lots of upscale stores in Southdale now so this makes sense to have a "bougie" grocery store here

That said, they seem to have all the usual TJ items you see at all the locations. I went there for some veggies, some kids snacks, and a couple other things, and was able to find them all. The staff was really nice and chatted up my son at the checkout and gave him some stickers. The one tough spot here is the parking. The lot is both tiny and very tight. It is hard to get around if you are there after work or on a Saturday. There is additional parking nearby, but you may have to spend extra time looking and then walking over.

Lemons and limes in the bins were getting kind of soft and wrinkly, something I've never seen at TJs. There are many check out lines and on a weekday morning they were all open. I have been shopping the grocery story & wine shop for about 15 years. I'm in the store(s) 4-5 days…read moreper week, spending roughly $500 per month between the two. I have over half a dozen friends working there, the regular staff all know my face, and I even recently interviewed for part-time work there. I do not like paying 5 cents for a plastic bag every time I swing through for a few items, so I decided to bring my own bag today. It's a messenger bag that rests on my back, no side pockets. Many customers in the store carry purses and/or reusable hand bags. All of these people have immediate access to their style of bags, whereas my messenger bag would require me to take it off my back in order to open it. As I walked by a very indiscreet undercover security member I hear a man's voice telling her via radio to keep an eye on me. I was then followed around the store for the entire visit, again very indiscreetly. I say this as someone who has worked professionally in security from bars, to retail, to IT. When I realized I forgot an item in the produce section I walked all the way back across the store, only to see a male security member come out of the back and proceed to follow me to the register. I intentionally chose a lane with a bagger, and showed him there was nothing in my bag before handing it to him. At the end of checkout the cashier asked me if I'd like to keep the 5 cents or donate it. This was new to me since I normally do self-checkout, so she explained that the 5 cents is a form of encouragement to bring my own bag. I replied to donate it, then said it was ironic considering security followed me around the entire store for wearing a bag that I was now being rewarded for bringing. She snapped at me and said "Well if you have a problem, my manager is right over there", and pointed to the self-checkout where the manager present has known me for quite some time and is always very friendly to me. Normally I decline a receipt when asked, but the cashier printed it without asking me. Seeing as I was only making an observation and not trying to escalate like the cashier was now doing, I deferred from chatting with said manager, and walked out of the store after placing my receipt into the donation box towards the Animal Humane Society like I always do. I have enjoyed the niche items that Kowalski's offers that other grocers do not, but considering these other stores sell the same common products for up to 40% cheaper, and considering the harassment by security and the poor customer service today, I will forego these niche items in favor of shopping elsewhere from this day forward.

Honestly it felt like a slightly more affordable Lunds- same kind of set up and not overly huge like a Cub or Hyvee. I saw a couple of flavors of items I don't see at my normal grocery store which was nice. We ended up getting sparkling water that we had never seen before. While we didn't interact with any employees (self check out) I noticed there were a lot of them. I'll definitely be back when I have more time and I'm actually looking to buy groceries. I could see this becoming a regular stop on the way home if our grocery delivery forgot something. I recommend checking it out and if you have time stop and eat in the cafe- that's what will get you in the door! Plus, I can't think of a better way to grocery shop than filling up on Scandinavian pancakes beforehand.

They have a really nice layout. Also, there is a fully stock (and might I say awesome) olive bar that is right up in the front area and I definitely stocked up. They have everything you could want and dream of in a grocery store, they have great meat selection and also everything is fresh and clean. I like how they have upper end options for things but also lower end options if that is what you are in to.. just love the options. There is self checkout that is nice and I appreciate being able to check yourself out when you aren't always feeling like human interaction. I live so close to here so definitely will be back!

As long as you cook it properly, it's just as good as the fresher steaks, roasts, or chops. If you Aren't going to: Freeze it til you Are going to cook it. Hey, when I can get a nice, thick pair of ribeyes for under $30, I'm going to snatch them up and hide them in the freezer for a special evening! No guilt at all. My other fun stop at that location is their clearance area, which is directly at the back center of the store, where it looks like there "might" be a mall entrance during day hours; but of course I wouldn't know that. To me it's a mostly empty hallway, usually with a couple of skids of something waiting to get put somewhere, and a few shelves with past their prime candies, cereals, lotions, potions, games, trinkets, and previous holiday celebration hoopla. MOST of it is marked down to very reasonable prices...but not ALL of it: so Beware! When you get to the checkout, ASK the cashier to check the prices for you before you go hog-wild and buy every last box of Cap'n Crunch with Marshmallows which you loaded into your cart, only to find it's a meager 10% off. This location was smaller, though I enjoyed it it was busy I felt that what was featured here was pretty small and minimal. They had some deals going on but a lot of their beverages and snacks for a bit of a price for me. They had a hot food bar which is pretty neat which has plenty of great options and great vegan selections as well for those that are particular. Staff here was friendly and kind throughout my visit. The plaza that the grocery store is placed in Can be a bit of a challenge to find parking at times. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with my visit though I wouldn't mind coming back for a casual visit.
