I have been using Lunds Auction house for years both to buy and sell. The staff are very experienced and knowledgeable and we have been happy with our purchases. The quality of the items we have bought is excellent and we find the on line bidding to be very convenient. Our house is 100 years old so a lot of our furniture was purchased at Lunds and it looks great in our home. Called Lunds to get an estimate on how much time they needed to clear out a Condo in Fairfield. gave me an approximate date but neglected to tell me I needed to hire someone to take it there. They came in good time and were very courteous. Was not satisfied with service we received and did not get a fraction of what it was worth. to date still have not got a itemized detail of what was sold..Cost us nearly five hundred dollars to get the stuff there . we have received less than $400.00 to date and no update on when we get the rest and what it was sold for. My friend and I went into Lunds to sell some assorted household goods he got from an estate, and we really didn't like the treatment we got. They appraised everything for about 1/3 of the prices given in books and online, but that was supposedly because of the bad economy. So the items were left with them for sale. Two months later they still hadn't turned up in an auction, and the girl at the counter seemed to indicate that they might have misplaced the items. A month after that they finally sent a cheque for about half the appraised price, and well below the minimum that my friend had requested, but they didn't have a record of the minimum. The final straw was two months after the sale, when the items were found in a local antiques dealership being sold for as much as six times what was paid! My friend was so angry that he told everyone he knew about this. I am certainly going to heed his advice and not use them! read more

I used Lunds to sell some items left to me in a will. The appraisal was much lower than anticipated but I left items to be auctioned anyways. I ended up getting a fraction of their worth, being charged a 20% fee for their cut of the deal and getting the cheque has been a nightmare! We have been told conflicting information by different employees, constant beauracratic delays we are notified of on day of cheque pick up, even though auction house was paid weeks ago. The guy running the place is rude and genuinely seems to detest clients. I would never go here again. read more

Mislead us on the potential to sell items. Example this item should sell for 500.00. Lunds says start the bidding low and let the bidders fight their way to 500.00. Well that never happened. The bidding barely went over the starting bids. If you are serious about selling your items for what they are actually worth best try another venue. After the auction is was like they went into hiding and we didnt hear from them.. We have a bunch more antiques to sell and we wont be taking them to Lunds or any Victoria antique dealers. I took an item to Lunds and the man in charge was really dismissive and rude, the he barked to a poor employee to help me, I told him I wanted a minimum reserve price and I was told that it wouldn't go for less than that amount (which was their appraised estimate) and that it would go on the next auction. Two months later and many inquiries later, I finally get word that my item sold for only10 percent of the estimated sell price. They didn't have a record of the minimum price either. sothebys sells as is ,,,lunds sells as isn't last week looked for sofa, flowery one listed could not find. / young guy found it buried under furniture bags junk with only shoulder visible and number 69...liked the pattern saw iy next day and auction time still buried, bidding started $2 i only bidder so got bargain, when cartage guys came in my door said weighs 600 lbs, where do you want this hide a bed. i said i did not buy that i bought a sofa so i told auctioneer dressed like blackjack dealer that was a false description to which he replied a hide a bed is a sofa. i suggest he google the oxford dictionary and hope fully learn the difference between a sofa and a hide a bed read more
