SERVICE NON-EXISTENT! While accelerating on a freeway entrance ramp, the acceleration suddenly diminished, engine light came on and message "engine power is diminished". I called this morning to make a service appointment. Can't get an appointment until next week and then it may be another week BEFORE the car can be looked at. Loaner/rental cars are booked out 4-5 weeks! I am a one car family. I also have a 7 year 100,00 mile warranty on the car. Customer service at the Waterford dealership is non-existent. I wish I could do negative stars. Because I would do negative a million stars if possible, wouldn't recommend buying a new or used car from them to even my worst enemy. Searched for a car for a long time. Found one I liked at this location. Negotiated a fair price just to be charged an additional $2000 for extra random fees. Part of that negotiation was getting the car tuned up before purchase because there was a dent and some brake noises I didn't like during the test drive. Dent was fixed - the brakes seemed to be fixed. What do I know - not a car guy and looking and receipt you can see they addressed the brake issue. They did not at all. After having the car for a month I took it to a new dealership after blowing a tire and having my brakes smoke on the way into the service shop. No way was I going to give them more money for a problem they didn't fix to begin with. Since purchasing the car 6 months ago I have been back to a service shop 5 times. Costing me over $5,000 and the warranty I was pressured into buying has saved me a whopping $500 smackers! How awesome! Love being a young adult with no money and the only thing I consistently pay for is a car I paid for in full. If going to Lunghamer Buick GMC in Waterford is your absolute last resort - I would strongly recommend doing anything else. This place is an absolute joke - but good for them because their business model of overpricing people and screwing them out of reliable vehicles seems to be working. Shoutout to Craig in the Sales department - he is a very nice guy and guided me through this process. DO NOT BUY FROM LUNGHAMER UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING SCREWED OVER!! My wife bought a used car at the Waterford location​ and it was the worst experience she or I have ever had. She signed on the loan, being told that they only needed to replace a FUSE for the gas door button since ot was not opening. They gave her a loaner because they couldn't seem to put a fuse in it the same day. The next day, in the loaner someone without insurance hit my wife. At first, the dealership told her that the tow and insurance would be taken care of by Lunghamer. Later, they told her that they wouldn't put her in another loaner because she 'wrecked' the loaner they gave her and dont want her to do it to another one. The police report, that they didnt care to see, clearly states that she was NOT AT FAULT, not to mention that this was her FIRST EVER accident. After several days of keeping her car for replacing a FUSE and many requests for a replacement vehicle, they finally agreed to another loaner. Another 4 days go by...they dodge her calls, don't return phone calls from the messages she left, no answer to emails or texts. She finally had to email the owner, who also didnt reply but forwarded it to the dealership who wasn'tanswering her. She finally gets her car back after being told it was a connection issue and not a fuse. She went to put gas in it and once she hit the button, the gas door fell off and she found that not only are deep gouges around her gas door like they tried to pry it open first instead of fixing the connection, but the plastic on the inside of the door had pry marks and bent plastic. Now they won't return phone calls regarding this, but their repair shop is calling asking for her to make a claim on her insurance for the accident even tho she was verbally told that THEY were taking care of everything. Now they are denying everything they said and won't admit to damaging the gas door.  She asked for service records and a form they claim she signed for the loaner over and over and they won't send them or acknowledge her request. This dealership is a joke!! I wouldn't be surprised if they forge her signature to get out of the loaner responsibility. Extremely rude manager. Bank would not value the vehicle at the high price that was being asked. Come to find out after being told the vehicle was accident free we found out it had been in an accident 6 months ago. Price that was being asked was that of a mint vehicle that was accident free, this vehicle had been in an accident 6 months ago and they refused to budge on price. What bothered me the most was how the lender tried to treat my spouse like an idiot and get her to put $2500 down not explaining to her the reason for that down payment being that the vehicle is not worth what there asking and the bank is not willing to loan that and she needs to make up the difference. He attempted to word things differently making it seem like that was not the reason and pull one over on her until I called him out and confronted him. He wanted to run her credit to other banks in hopes he could find one that would agree to the high price tag. They need to re think there sales strategy if they want top dollar for there vehicles they need to sell top notch vehicles. These people are getting problem vehicles and attempting to sell for top dollar and pull one over on people. They make bank while you over pay! I am very disappointed with Lunghamer Buick. My daughter bought a 2025 Buick Envista in August 2024. I will say Jessica, our saleswoman, was awesome. Things fell apart when we had to do our financing through Jeff Rubin. My daughter, at 27, had an awesome credit score of 813 and we were told many things were based upon her credit score. Her loan was through Bank of America. After speaking with friends who asked why her loan was not put through GM Financial (since we had the discount and they always have a lower interest rates than banks), we did not know. My daughter's credit report was never checked for GM Financial just Bank of America. Jeff Rubin did not explain anything to us and couldn't even answer why her payment was going to be higher than what Jessica told her. After calling Scott, the General Manager, for an explanation of how this process works, all he could say is that I could refinance anytime with a credit union. I wanted him to check why GM Financial was not checked for her loan. He said he could not check since this was done in August. Scott also tried to tell me that GM Financial might not have had the lowest interest rate. I don't buy that. I also work for an insurance company and I know we have notes for everything we do at our company. I can't believe my daughter did not have a file that he could look up any information in. He basically told me that there was nothing he could do. I'm extremely disappointed with everyone except Jessica who was awesome. I would not recommend Lunghamer as I feel they didn't have my daughter's best interest at heart. Such a shame that her first experience buying a car ended up like this. read more

I cannot believe I am giving a five star review to a used car dealer experience. It's true though. This was hands down the best experience I have had buying a car. They sell new cars here but I'm reviewing the used side of this particular business. I have no knowledge about the new car salepeople or experience. I haven't bought a used car since I was a teenager. Our beloved HHR was demolished by a doofus on the freeway who thought braking for no good reason was kinda fun. We were sad and wanted a new one but the problem is they do not make them anymore. I'm cheap enough to buy GM products because of my discount but I could not find a single car in their line up I liked enough to buy. The Equinox was tempting but just too big for our needs and my husband was not convinced. Everything else was too small, way too big or just not doing it at all for either of us. We searched out gently used 2011s through KelleyBlueBook.com and other search places and this place kept coming up as having the most 2011 HHRs, the cheapest HHRs and unbelievably low milage on said HHRs. It is an hour from us so we did not really want to make the hike. Problem was everywhere near us wanted at least 2 to 3 thousand more for not as nice of cars and they were unwilling to deal even when I showed them their prices were not at all competitive. At any rate, most lots would have one to three HHRs and very few lots had more than one 2011. It actually would have saved us time to just go to Lunghamer first. Once we got to Lunghamer we were helped by Dale Zarnick, very eager guy, willing to please. Friendly, open with information, willing to give advice. We finished up a couple days later with Rob Gleyre who was equally as charming and helpful. Dawn from finance was a peach as well. Actually every person we met there seemed just down to earth and flexible, totally not what I was expecting! While we were waiting on the final paperwork we got into a good food discussion with several of the guys, got some great recommends and a few trips down memory lane. We would have been happy with six or seven different cars there, we test drove four and had a hard time deciding. Finally we opted for the lowest priced, lowest milage car that was in a color we liked. We could have done slightly better with the white one we considered but in the end I just was not willing to sacrifice on color. I'm just not a fan of white cars. There was no haggling, no shadiness. Everything was spelled out to us, they were the cheapest anywhere and we knew it, taxes were about the only added fee. They went over every penny with me. They had a carfax, we get to run out the original warranty plus we got an additional amount as a certified used car buyer through GM. They even managed to get me a break for my GM discount here that slightly lowered my payments. Yay! My car has less than 9,500 miles on it, not a scratch, ding or dent and it was part of a fleet. Seven months old, barely used. The savings blew my mind. As a new car buyer to get a car this cheaply and to feel every bit as good about it (if not even better) than my prior purchases, well I am sold. I may never buy new again. It was painless, fun and honestly I was super impressed. I feel like I got a steal. read more

Have had numerous issues with my 2016 Sierra including transmission and Intellilink (Infotainment) unit. In both cases Lunghamer performed service to fix issues, but issues still persist. I gave 1 star because they don't stand behind their work. They told me that they would try to do the same service again to try and fix and would charge me again. This is not right. I told my service advisor that I would be posting a negative review on social media to give them another opportunity to make it right, he said he checked management and that they couldn't do anything... I guess a couple hundred $ is more important than a satisfied customer. I am switching to another dealer despite the inconvenience of driving further for service. read more

I scheduled an online appointment for the service department and arrived to the appointment 15 minutes prior and was advised they were unaware of my appointment because their department is never advised of the appointments made online. I was also advised that the service technician who looks at transmissions are not in for the day and that this person will need to drive my vehicle for 20 minutes. The technician then proceeded to plug a device into my car and I was advised someone will contact me in two to three days. I never received a call, I called to inquire what was the result and was advised I would have to schedule another appointment for another week out and pay a diagnostic fee. Per the technician, the plug in only told him something about my trunk and turn signal. All of those are in working order. I did not schedule another appointment, I will choose another Chevrolet service center. Not sure if I am getting the run around because maybe they are short staffed and have no one to assist. Just being honest is better than thinking of things as you go. I only went here because I purchased my vehicle from here but it is over a 15 mile drive away from my home. It is time consuming and inconvenient not to be serviced when an appointment is made, not receive a callback, and advised to schedule an appointment another week out. I have to take work off to come to the appointment as Saturday is not an option for an appointment and the weekday hours end when my shift ends. read more

I'd be remiss if I didn't share my honest feedback in hopes that someone above the service department at Lunghamer reads and takes to heart their lackluster review performance. Not just in my case, but in all the reviews before and after mine. My vehicle has been in this service department 3 times in 2 months. They replaced a part (that failed) with a new part, which subsequently also failed. An intermediate dealership (as in a different dealership, not included in my above tally) replaced the new part with a new, new part but caused a leak in the process. Lunghamer allegedly fixed the leak but now the transmission doesn't shift into 5th gear which they insist is normal. Because it doesn't put a code into their diagnostic tool, they insist that there is no error. To me, running at a high rate of speed at 5000+ rpms for an extended period of time indicates a problem. BUT let's just forget that for now. Maybe it is GMs fault for building an inferior transmission, which is the explanation the service advisor inferenced. I don't know and frankly, after the 2.5 seconds they took to stuff the diagnostic tool into the reader, Lunghamer GMC doesn't know either. It isn't the fact that the vehicle is in the shop as much as I have it for myself or that I am dragging my crap from one vehicle to the rental on a regular basis... the problem is the treatment by the service departement and their "manager" to the client. I recognize that my gender puts me at a significant disadvantage when dealing with this type of situation, but in my years of life on the planet I've never, ever EVER faced mansplaning of this caliber. As if the service advisor wasn't horrid enough, the manager was worse. The list of excuses was long and plentiful: They can't fix a problem that doesn't exist. The Acadia that I had for 8 years was a totally different vehicle (nevermind that in the process of them fixing and fixing my vehicle I had ample opportunity to drive a pleatura of GM vehicles...). In fact, my new Acadia shifted into 5th gear before the last leak repair, which I explained. But now, somehow, it not shifting is fine and normal. They are so difficult to deal with that in the middle of the disaster I called GM hopeful for some reprieve. Corporate was able to arrange for a rental (which lunghamer told me was impossible) but the dealership remained unable to fix the issue. When I complained to the manager I may have well saved my breath because he had not an ounce, not an IOTA of care or regard. If you wonder where the problem is, keep looking up the tree I guess. I am seething mad and would never step foot into this place again. I might not be a car person, but I know that a car, with all of the gears GM gave it, is supposed to shift. Even though I am a female. Lunghamer should be ashamed. Revamp the service department because it is so offensive I just can't. read more

I tried twice at this dealer to get an oil change. The first time I called and set an appointment. When I arrived at the scheduled time I was told my appointment for the following day. Unable to make that the following day I rescheduled later in the week. When I got there for that appointment I was told I was 2 hours late, and that they were backed up. It was somehow my fault that they entered the time and date wrong not once but twice! This dealer's service department is a joke and I will not be returning. My experience here on 7/15/19 started out well and ended terribly. I walked in knowing exactly what car I wanted and ended up buying it. Towards the end of the process, my salesman told me that something was wrong with their system and that he would not be able to get me my new plate and registration that day. I informed him that my mailing address was in Chicago, IL and that I was moving on 7/31/19 in order to ensure that my plate would be received before then. He stated that he would be putting it in the mail the next day and giving me a temporary plate in the meantime. A week later I find out that he finally sent it out in the mail but in just the regular USPS mail with no tracking number, while knowing that I was in the process of moving and that a license plate and registration is very important. Still to date I have no idea where my plate is. My temporary plate that they gave me only lasted until 7/30/19 which caused me to receive a parking ticket on 8/4/19. I ended up having to take a whole day off of work to drive (2 hours one way) from Chicago, IL to the closest MI Secretary of State to go get another plate since SOS would not allow to have another one requested via online or over the phone. When I informed my salesman that I received a parking ticket due to his mistake he did not do anything to help the situation, not even to just write a letter to say this was all his mistake in order for me to hopefully have my ticket successfully contested. I also spoke to the manager about my expired temporary plate and how her salesman lost my plate in the mail she failed to help at all and just forwarded my call back to her salesman. All in all, terrible customer service and would recommend to stay far away from this place. read more

I spoke to Doug Zarnick twice after filling out one of their e-mail survey's and entering my review on Yelp. He agreed that the rotors on my vehicle should have been replaced the first time I came in and that they would reimburse me for the labor to resurface the warped front end rotors. I did receive a check, not for the full amount I paid but close enough that I'm not going to make an issue out of ($6.52). Doug also offered to replace my rear drivers side door with 'help me' scratched into the inside of the glass and I accepted their offer. My first visit to Lunghamer, and I was pleasantly surprised. Made an appointment to bring my car in for a fix on a recall matter. I drove into the service bay, was greeted immediately by a friendly, personable service man and the paperwork was done in minutes. I was told to expect a 30-minute wait but it didn't take that long. Had my daughter take her car to Lunghamer Buick in Waterford, Michigan to confirm what I already knew. The camshaft sensor needed to be replaced. She is in med school and doing rotations so they were nice enough to give her a loaner. Now I know why. The sensor was a $50 part plus $80 to diagnose. If we had them do the repair they wave the diagnostic fee. For $200 (parts & labor) it saves me driving (2 hours each way) to Waterford so just do it. Nope. Need to replace the timing chain - $2,000! They REFUSED to replace the sensor unless we agreed to replace the timing chain. I said no, absolutely not, so they charged me $80 for diagnosing the problem plus $250 car rental because I wouldn't let them rip me off for $2,000 to replace the timing chain. Then..... when I went to replace the sensor they had loosened the bolt which holds the sensor in about 1/4" so that when my daughter was driving down the road it would pop out, throw off the timing and make the timing chain jump off the sprocket. These people are evil and I hope they burn in hell. I replaced the sensor myself ($50) and we have been driving the vehicle for the past couple months trouble free. Yes the timing chains stretch but you will hear it making noise before it becomes an issue. Pure evil. Don't just walk away from this dealership, run! read more

I took my car here after getting rear ended thinking that a dealership would do an outstanding job.... boy was I wrong!!!! They didn't paint the car to match the original paint, I had to take it back for a spot they forgot to blend, also had to take it back because the truck wasn't flesh with the rest of the car, it didn't shut properly, and the paint on the inside was all bumpy like a 5 year old had painted it. Although this is minor, when you spend a fortune with them, this should have been caught: they did not even paint where the gas lid was scratched on the side. They didn't even notice that my driver seat chair wasn't working properly. I don't think they did a good inspection to be honest with you. After they "fixed" what was wrong with it when I took it back saying I wasn't happy, they said "that is the best we can do". However, I got hit again a month later, took it to a collision shop and they fixed everything that was wrong with it from the Lunghamer Buick GMC "repair". They were in shock on what a bad job they did. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR COLLISION SHOP HERE!!! Although referred by State Farm, it was VERY VERY shocked and disappointed!!! You could tell I was inconveniencing them by asking them to fix what I saw was wrong! read more

I originally brought my vehicle in due to an accident where I was rear ended. I will say that they did a good job of replacing my rear bumper and tailgate. However, when I picked up my vehicle I noticed that there was a rattling/sliding noise coming from underneath the vehicle. I returned to Lunghamer so they could check out the noise. I was told the noise was due to the rear brake calipers. I had them replaced at my own expense only to find out that this was not causing the rattling noise. To make a long story short I took my vehicle to another shop who diagnosed the problem as a loose baffle in the gas tank that was related to the accident. Ended up paying out of my own pocket for rear calipers that I probably did not need. Very disappointing to say the least. read more

Don't not take your car here for service!!!!!! Took my car in because it wouldn't start after I replaced with new battery. Service technician called me back and said my brand new battery was bad and I needed to buy a new "GM " battery before they could even diagnose my car problem. I told him my battery was just bought and if it is bad I will take it down the road to the auto store where I just bought and have them give me a new one to replace the battery I just bought. The service technician said that wasn't an option and he would have to charge me for them to take the battery out and new one back in. I said I'll take the car back and change it out my self and then give the car back to the dealership. He once again said that wasn't a option and if I wanted the car back to do that, I would have to be off the property ( with a car that won't start) and I would be recharged for the car to be looked at again. So after going back and forth going nowhere I told him to just change the starter. Mechanic does that for $875 and my car now starts and low and be hold the service tech now says my supposed bad battery is good and should be fine. So now I drive my car home 1.5 miles away, and all of sudden I no longer have a front suspension, and my car is pretty much un-drivable. which was never a problem before I took the car in for a starting problem not any suspension problems. So I Take car back up to dealership and now they want 1300 dollars for front struts and wheel alignment. Never had any suspension problems before I brought in to dealership.I will never bring a car to them again nor recommend Lunghamer to anyone. I Even talked to Scott Ziegler supposedly the head manager of the dealership and was to no help. He offered to knock off another 40 dollars of what was quoted originally. And had the service manager call me back instead of him. Shame on you guys for your horrible car service and even worse customer service. I would give them o stars if possible. read more
