24 oz beer ($1.50 off happy hour)
David C.

Today was my second time visiting Lupe while on work trips and they do a great job every time. The biggest thing to highlight here is always the service. They have IMPECCABLE service. Even when we had a party of 30+ people, they were able to accommodate us and make sure we were taken care of at all times the entire visit. Great job on the service here. Today, there were only three of us and service was still perfect. During happy hours (weekdays 3:00-6:00PM), there is a $1.50 draft beer. You can't argue with that. We also ordered the guac and queso on the side which had hefty portions and tasted great. For my meal, I ordered the steak Lupe (10 oz) and although it tasted fine and had habaneros and 2 other kinds of chili (SPICY), I was a bit let down on what I got for ($31). I'll order something else the next time I go there. I can't wait to go back and have another good time at Lupe!

Barbacoa brunch tacos

First time here and I was visiting from Dallas. They gave us a small sample of fajita meat and it was amazing! I got the barbacoa brunch tacos and it was a lot of food. 2 tacos with eggs, potatoes and refried beans. My daughter got the chicken tenders with fries kids meal and the best part was the ice cream that came with her meal. I tried the ruby red Rita which was quite delicious. The chips, salsa and bean dip were also so good. Plenty of indoor seating and at the bar. Nice decor and attentive service. Can't wait to go back.

100% my favorite fajitas in town. Consistent across all locations, Lupe gets it right. Start by asking for the OG salsa. IYKYK Table side guacamole is good. If you're in the bar area and Johnny is service, you're in good hands. Food is always good but stars include: Filet Mignon fajitas, the RIBS, OG beef fajitas and Cheekin Lupe. During August/September, the special Hatch Chili menu shines. Drop in. I'll be there.

Beef and chicken lunch fajitas

I stopped coming to Lupe Tortilla long time ago after they changed the Cheekin Flautas. So first in a long time. I was in a large group for a holiday lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food and our waiter was prompt and on top of it. He even took time to take our group photo. I had the lunch fajitas and I loved the chicken more than the beef. Charros beans are the best! Lastly the tortillas are massive! I described them as a baby blanket. They were delicious and more than enough. Restroom was clean which is always a must! They have good sweet tea for the sweet tea lovers.

We had a great time at Lupe tortilla. The restaurant was spacious and we were seated right away. It was pretty busy on a Sunday evening so they took a little longer to take our order, but they gave us free samples of the beef tacos as a service - which was delicious! After trying out the samples, we got the beef and shrimp fajitas. They place it in a hot plate which keeps the meats warm. I also appreciated how they gave us the fajitas wraps in a pot to keep it warm throughout the meal. Loved all the sides it came with to make the perfect wrap. The guacamole was delicious and I absolutely enjoyed having it with the chips as well as the fajitas. I would recommend going hungry as the portions are large! We had leftovers which we packed in togo boxes. We did have to ask for silverwares again as they cleared our table pretty fast.

I looveeee Lupe tortilla. All locations, I'm here at least once a week to grab a margarita. Shoutout to Justin for have such great customer service and going above and beyond! I came right before closing tonight and he did no complaints! It's not ideal I know... I work in the industry as well but I really appreciated such a positive attitude and stilll giving us full service. Shout out to the bar team. Jas was cleaning behind the bar but she was also very pleasant :)

Love Tex-Mex! Service and atmosphere: Very nice restaurant, clean with plenty of space, and great decor. Check out their bar area. Service was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Food and drinks: Great selection in both areas. Food was simply delicious. Fantastic Tex-Mex flavours. All was fresh, balanced, and nicely plated. I really enjoy spicy Tex-Mex gumbo. Same goes for the steak. Pricing: $$ and well worth it! See you soon.

One of the best flans i've had for a long time!

Wonderful lunch with a friend...great margaritas and there's crab stuffed shrimp was phenomenal... Angel, our server"what a lovely professional... can tell he has perfected his craft over many years...And very attentive... highly recommend... oh , and the flan... is absolutely delicious and creamy

Dinner with the guys

Another family dinner at this location and another night of incredible customer service. Since it is only a few days before Christmas on a Thursday night, this Lupe Tortillas had a line out the door . Within 10 minutes, we were seated, and our server Hugo had our chips , drink orders, and food orders taken care of in the next 5 minutes . It's pretty impressive considering how busy this location was! My 2 carnivores ordered the steak lupe and steak dinner. You have to keep the meat eaters happy! Our food came out quickly and was served hot like we like it on cast iron skillets. Wonderful way to start the Holiday season. Return: most likely soon

Lupe Tortilla great waiters

Kaylee, Justin, and Jhonny are a awesome trio at the bar! My first time and they tag team to make sure I was happy, very attentive and great conversation on the menu! Very Satisfied! They made me a happy customer! They recommended several things I really enjoyed the ribs.

Menu

Food was delicious. Chicken enchiladas w/green sauce, soft taco, beans rice, side of guacamole rice fluffy, beans not runny, like so many other places. Service was good. Glass of Modelo!!

Always great service. We went for HH and sat at the bar. Drinks are super pricey but they give you free queso during HH. I got beef fajitas to go. Meat is always on point and so flavorful. They could really add more sautéed onions. I feel like they never put enough and this happens every time I go. I always have to ask for more. Over all great location!

Inside it is a one room eatery with counter service. My first visit was to try the Birria Burrito for $16 with the meal delivered about 10 minutes later. It consisted of their Birria meat cooked for 4 hours mixed with chorizo, cheese, rice, beans and sour cream all wrapped in a large flour tortilla seasoned with their special red colored seasoning. With the meal came a cup of consomne'. Guy Fieri would say, Welcome to Flavortown! It was delicious. The Birria beef was so tender and the flavored flour tortilla with that proprietary red seasoning they use was perfect. It was a very filling meal and well worth the price. So much so, I thought about it the next day. Another visit was to try one of their specialities, the Quesabirria for $14. This meal consisted of 3 grilled and crispy corn tortillas seasoned again with their special red colored magic dust. The tortillas had the delicious Birria meat and cheese inside and I again loved them. The tortillas are only slightly crispy and the meat, cheese and tortillas memorable. This meal also came with a cup of consommé for dipping. Another nice thing about eating here is the customer service. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The guy bussing the tables acted more like the owner than an employee with his helpfulness and the actual manager came out to check on us. Impressive for a counter service restaurant. Tacos Dona Lena deserves its reputation as one of the best restaurants of its kind. Incredible food and employees all at very reasonable prices. I would rate this place a 3.5/5!…read more There aren't many spots for designated parking but plenty of space for street parking. I came in on a Sunday around noon and there were a good number of customers but thankfully my friend and I were able to be seated right away. The outdoor seating area is super cute but I think it would've been much better if there was a gazebo or some kind of umbrella since there was no shade. Although fall is here and the weather is finally starting to get a little cooler, I don't know if eating here during the summer time is feasible. The appetizer consisted of chicharrones de harina with 3 different sauces. The creamy green sauce and red sauce are super spicy so you've been warned (for spice reference, I enjoy eating buldak noodles but need some eggs to dilute the spiciness). The only sauce that wasn't as spicy was the salsa verde. I also got the guacamole and the ingredients were fresh but it lacked a little salt. Thankfully, the cutlery package had some salt and pepper so that helped. As for the entree, I ordered the Birria Tacos. The flavor and seasoning were fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed the use of jackfruit in the dish. Consome was also savory and delicious! My friend ordered an omlete and that came with pancakes. Although I didn't try the omlete, the pancakes were amazing. They're soft, fluffy, moist, and the cream on top and on the side were sweet and satisfying. I was blown away by the fact that they're vegan too- bravo! As for drinks, I ended up getting the La Cascarita which is a spicy pineapple drink. Flavor-wise, the drink was spicy and refreshing but I think it was a little too sweet for my liking. In terms of service, it was pretty slow (granted, there were only one or two servers). Although the food came out in moderate timing, it took a while to get extra napkins, waters, check, etc. Overall, I enjoyed trying vegetarian/vegan Mexican food for the first time! I appreciate the restaurant's creativity and extensive list of items to choose from.

Time to Margaritas: 15 Minutes Time to Entree: 25 Minutes We arrived at around 7:00PM on a Thursday evening and there was reasonable parking here. The staff were very accommodating in finding us a table with an outlet for charging my laptop. Coupon interpretation: This El Tiempo let us order anything except fajita plates, which was in alignment with the coupon. We were allowed to order margaritas to fulfill the drink requirement. Margarita (4/5): I got a frozen mango margarita as I usually do. The margaritas are relatively consistent at El Tiempo and they do a nice floater of tequila. This one had some chunks of mango and ice that clogged my straw a bit more, but it was still pretty good. Full Chicken Quesadilla (4/5): Definitely huge. We both ordered this and both took home half as leftovers. I found the chicken a tad dry, and I'm disappointed that they don't include guacamole for the price. I paid via inKind with no issues. You have to manually write in your check total instead of using a check number, and then the wait staff will take a photo with their phone so don't close the screen (or take a screenshot yourself). Overall, a solid tex-mex staple of Houston that remains quite pricey. Suggest checking for coupons or using inKind for a discount.

Everything about this restaurant made me love it even more. We had a small gathering here for a retirement celebration, and from the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and genuinely cared for. The decor beautifully celebrates Mexican culture and creates an atmosphere that feels both homey and elevated. The service was exceptional. We were lucky enough to be served by Melo, who absolutely elevated the experience. He was knowledgeable about the menu, made thoughtful recommendations without being pushy, and accommodated every request we had. What really stood out was the attention to detail, it honestly felt like Michelin-level service. From placing the salt neatly on the napkin, to turning drink handles outward when setting them down, to the way he took orders starting with the retiree, then the elders in the group, and then everyone else (even though that wasn't our seating order). It was incredibly thoughtful and intentional. Those small details did not go unnoticed. Melo was engaging, personable, and attentive the entire time. The food was delicious. The drinks took a little longer to come out from the bar, but they were absolutely worth the wait. And the salsa? Incredible. I genuinely wish I could have it at home every day. There was absolutely nothing to worry about. The avocados were perfect. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and while the dipping sauces were great, I barely needed them because the avocado and chicken were already so delicious on their own.
