Tonati is a newish restaurant located on I-10 near Sewell Cadillac in a large shopping center with plenty of parking in front. Inside it's a small restaurant attractively decorated and playing enjoyable music. I dined there a few days ago. My order was for the mixed fajitas for $23. I asked for the homemade corn tortillas and charro beans. First to arrive was the complimentary chips and red salsa. The chips were thick and the salsa had a little bit of kick which made them enjoyable. The entree arrived less than 15 minutes later. The small skillet had steak and chicken along with onions and a pepper on it. On another plate was Spanish rice and on another plate the guac, pico de gallo and sour cream on a lettuce leaf. I asked for charro beans instead of the refried beans on the menu and started with them. These beans were different in a soupy broth with more veggies like onions, tomatoes and peppers mixed in with the small beans. No bacon. They weren't my favorite however they were acceptable. Perhaps I like my charro beans more traditional. The steak and chicken meats were good and I think I liked the steak a little better. Also the onions were caramelized and delicious too. My biggest surprise, and a nice one at that, was that the corn tortillas were blue corn! Oh yeah! A very nice added touch. These fajitas were very good to eat. The table service was very good as we were well taken care of. I like Tonati and would be happy to return.

After leaving Mikoto I noticed a fairly new Tonati next door, and the visit was well worth 5 stars because of their Tuesday all-day happy hour special posted outside and Mrs. Carina. She was running the front of the restaurant by herself, and still managed to provide fast, friendly, and genuinely attentive service. I have to mention the margaritas that were recommended. Smooth, perfectly mixed, and crafted with real fruit--as depicted in one of the photos. Honestly, I'd come back just for the cocktails alone. Superb job on the hospitality, Tonati. Will return.

Amazing service and delicious food! We stumbled upon this gem after shopping at Cavender's. The space is small but once you step inside you can feel the vibrant nature of this family owned restaurant. We were kindly greeted by Jasmine, who took care of us throughout our whole experience. Started off with complimentary chips and delicious homemade salsa. For drinks the watermelon agua Fresca really hit the spot, especially in this Texas heat! We then ordered Street Tacos and Tacos Dorados based on our hostess/server's recommendation. The Street Tacos came with homemade purple tortillas and pineapples that paired so well with the beef. Tacos Dorados came with nice, crunchy, corn tortillas. Each taco entree came with 3 tacos. Next time I plan to order beef over chicken on all my tacos! Jasmine informed us that this is a newer and smaller location that opened up in addition to their main location in Katy. We will definitely come back, and plan to visit the main restaurant the next time we are in that area.

The Tacos? WOW. The tortillas were so soft and almost had a melt in your mouth feel. I loved how they served the sauce on the side so you could decide how much to put in which was nice. Loved the pickled purple cabbage (made it have that extra care feel). Only complaint was I wish there would have been a little more fish. Margarita was great and chips and salsa were nice with a little spicy kick! Kevin was nice and attentive the whole time as well. Will definitely be back and love supporting smaller businesses!

The margaritas and queso were amazing, however the tacos could've been better considering the price. The service was good, i dont know her name but she was working really hard to make sure everyone was satisfied. The restaurant is also pretty small, so it can get packed easily, and if you have a bigger party, you may have to wait for a table or accommodations.

My husband and I have been here twice. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding! The dishes that we've tried are the beef fajitas, the empanadas, the green pozole and the gorditas. They were all very good but would probably not order the empanadas again. The beef fajitas were the most tender that we've ever had! We'll be back on a Tuesday for the fajita special! The restaurant is small but designed very nicely. The chairs are very comfortable which is a huge plus! We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this place!

Went to this place for lunch on a Tuesday. Ordered mushroom tacos, add chicken, aioli on the side (no issues, just like my sauce on the side!). These tacos were BOMB. So freaking delicious. Top tier, high quality, flavorful, kind of elevated with a lot of flavors and super high quality ingredients. Service was great, super chill and friendly place and really incredible high quality. Inside decor is so cool too, there are these amazing corn husks hanging from the ceiling. I asked and they said they've been open since May 2025. Come support this place!!! I'll definitely come back.

    Small but fantastic place.

Wow! This place is a hidden gem. Been told by others about it and they are lights out. Best house marg I have had and I have had a lot. This place is going to be huge. Good enough I almost don't want to tell anyone about it. Watch out there is going to be a wait to get in here soon.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

Service was remarkable and very friendly from the host to the cleaning staff. Food was delicious. I really appreciated the creative flavors that were inspired by authentic Mexican cuisine. Standouts were the guacamole and wagyu carne asada, but everything was fantastic. I loved the Clara cocktail and enjoyed learning about the process to create it. It is clear that there was care and attention behind each menu item. Also, the pace of the food being brought out was evenly paced, which I appreciate, and our server gave us just the right amount of attentiveness. We celebrated my husband's birthday here, and they sent out a tres leches with a candle on it. Very kind and very delicious dessert. Usually not a big fan of tres leches, but this one was not overwhelmingly soaked in condensed milk, and it has a very fresh tasting peach (seasonal) puree drizzled on top. My only real critique is that the portions felt a little on the smaller side. Either bump them up a bit or add a small side, because I definitely could've eaten a little more.
