To say we've been here over 100 times would not be a hyperbole. It's like a second home. We love Lupitas!

Queso Fundido after we already started digging in :)

Stopped in after kicking around town and we loved it! Started with Queso Fundido, delicious crispy chorizo crumbled on top! We had the Carnitas Platter & Birria Tacos which are new to the menu. Everything was really tasty and the service was perfect! Thumbs up!

We brought a large group and the service was very good and the cost was reasonable. The food was really good but since it's Ohio, I wasn't expecting amazing Mexican food like in the border states.

Taco salad had much to be desired....

Aahhh! This is not good. The only thing I would dream of suggesting is the $1 margarita pitchers. And only because they're dirt cheap.

The food is very good. The interior of the restaurant could use some updating. The shrimp fajita's are very very good!

Taco Flavored Kisses is a casual taqueria in the heart of Oberlin. I stopped in while in the area…read moreand looking for quality food. This taqueria is open on Monday unlike many other local restaurants. The restaurant has a small patio with five tables. The interior contains festive bright orange walls and minimal decor. There are four tables and three high tops inside. They are pretty spread out so you can have a more private dinner with your company. During my dinner there were quite a few students who picked up to go orders, only a few people chose to dine in. The students seemed to be regulars. Guests self-order at the counter and sit wherever they want. You are served with 5-10 minutes at your table which is excellent. You can choose items from the kitchen or build your own (Chipotle style). Service is very friendly. Everyone is greeted upon entry. The wait staff seems to know many people by name. Students were trained as employees when I was in. They were trying very hard and were receiving very patient guidance. I feel confident that they'll do very well with service long-term. The food is okay but nothing to rave about to be very honest. If I was a college student, I would probably devour this food though. I ordered Street Taco Plate with 3 tacos (quesa birria with consume) with arroz rojo and black beans, Sweet Potato Fries (with queso sauce), and water. My grand total was $28.76 before tip. Street taco plate had tacos that were over-fried with meat that was too salty. They were just not too cohesive and too greasy for my liking. The black beans and rice were presented in the same container which made this combo too watery. The rice didn't taste all the way cooked through. Beans were actually pretty good and weren't falling apart. The side queso (upgrade of $2.50) was tasty but seemed to be standing out for a while and solidified a bit. The fries had a very generous serving, they were almost the size of my palm. I felt like for $6.50 (for the fries) it was a great value. They were a bit dry but pretty good. They also had aqua fresca but I opted in for water. I noticed that most people ordered tacos at other tables. Maybe other food choices are better. I didn't get through most of my food and didn't get it to go either. Lastly about parking. Street parking is available around the area. On a Monday there were many options, not sure about the weekend. Definitely make a day out of being in Oberlin when visiting this taqueria. The area is very walkable and has a lot of points of interest.

They also have street tacos and burritos. They seemed to have a nice selection of spicer salsas as well. I ordered a bowl. It costs extra for a meat option but it does come with a bag of chips. I felt like the portion was on the smaller side. It had good flavor with fresh ingredients.

I placed my order in Chinese, as I am fluent in the language. I specifically ordered "四川芥蓝"…read more(Sichuan Gai Lan), which is a completely different vegetable from broccoli. While both belong to the Brassica oleracea (甘蓝) family, they have distinct appearances, flavors, and, most importantly, different names in Chinese. Every Chinese knows that 西兰花(broccoli) is different as 芥蓝 (gai lan). However, I was given broccoli instead of Gai Lan. When I called to address the mistake, the owner blamed me, insisting that I had ordered incorrectly. She claimed that in the U.S., "芥蓝" (Gai Lan) is called "西兰花" (Broccoli). Having lived in the U.S. for 11 years as a citizen, frequently shopping at Asian stores, I have never heard anyone--Asian or otherwise--refer to these two vegetables interchangeably. They are simply not the same. By the owner's logic, just because Japanese, Korean, and Chinese people are all Asian, she could refer to all of them as "Chinese" regardless of their actual nationality or identity. That kind of reasoning is absurd and completely unacceptable. This is clearly a translation issue on their end, and instead of taking responsibility, the owner unfairly placed the blame on me. She had no right to do so, and her response has no logic. Under Ohio's Consumer Sales Practices Act (CSPA) (ORC § 1345.02) and general consumer protection laws, businesses cannot engage in deceptive or misleading practices when advertising or selling goods. The owner's behavior has first, misrepresenting the nature or quality of a product, second, Providing false or confusing translations, third, Failing to deliver the product as described. It is the restaurant owner's responsibility to correctly label and describe the items on their menu.
