We stopped at Fiesta Habaneros on our way home from Kalahari, and I genuinely cannot believe this place is sitting at a 3.6. It completely exceeded our expectations. We're a family of four and ordered totally different things -- and every single dish was exceptional. Our 6-year-old got a simple cheese quesadilla with rice. The quesadilla was perfectly fine... but the rice? She was in an actual trance. We've never seen her so focused and actually eating the food we ordered her. Parents of young grazers know that's basically a five-star review on its own. Our son ordered the ribeye and devoured it. He wasn't crazy about the rice and refried beans (he's picky about sides in general -- that says nothing about their flavor), but the steak itself was incredibly flavorful and gone in minutes. The grilled veggies on top weren't his thing either, so we brought them home and I'll be turning them into a stir fry later My husband ordered the enchiladas rancheros -- three enchiladas with three different sauces, served with rice and beans. Each sauce had its own distinct flavor profile, and all three were equally incredible. That's rare. I ordered the ahi tuna ceviche and I would drive the 2.5 hours from home just for that dish. Bright, fresh, perfectly balanced -- absolutely outstanding. Honestly not sure the leftovers are going to make it back to NY. On top of the food, the service was next level. Attentive, warm, efficient, and genuinely kind. You can tell when a place is well-managed, and this is one of them. Ambiance-wise, it was modern, clean, and comfortable. It wasn't overly busy when we were there, which made it even more enjoyable. TVs throughout, a really cool-looking bar area, and a booth that comfortably fit our family of four without feeling cramped. Solid place to go for Mexican! There's a good amount of Mexican restaurants around and this is always within our top 3 options. We typically go here with a larger group with kids as well. The service is always very quick and great! The salsa is superior here compared to other places around (my son tries to drink it, that's how much he likes it). The drinks are always perfection - the latest drink I got was the Watermelon Cucumber Margarita with Tajin rim 10/10. The food is always delicious and the portions are big! I honestly would not recommend this place. We went on Mothers Day so that's why I'm giving them 3 stars cause maybe they were just not used to being busy, but it was our first time here and we did make reservations for 6. When we first got there they seemed confused about our reservations. Once seated they didn't have enough menus for 6 of us (they only had 3), most Mexican restaurants you are in and out, super fast. We were there for three hours. We didn't get our food until an hour and half in there, it was so slow with asking for the receipt, drinks etc. We had to ask for chips and salsa which we didn't get until after they brought the drinks (waited like 40 mins for that), once the food was brought out, my moms chicken fajitas were overcooked, my dads steak fajitas were burnt. We showed the waitress and she said "sorry" but that was it. Two of us got the spicy burrito and there was barely any topping to it. We got a burrito and one of their soups. The soup should have came in a larger bowl because they filled the bowl to the top & would have been easier to eat. So good amount of food for a good price. Never understood why servers fill glasses up to the brim if they have to deliver to ppl. The salsa was pretty spicy per a few of our party. Seems most of our modifications came out correct. One persons enchiladas were so salty she couldn't eat half of it. Same time I was thinking my ACP (chicken w/ queso sub rice for beans & add onions) was over salted too. I took half home to spruce it up. The portions were pretty fair. The dessert for the bday girl was ok, just the fried tortilla was stale. Came w/ whipped cream, choc sauce & cinnamon. I want to start by saying this used to be my favorite place to come and I have given it 3 other tries since I started having bad experiences to give it more chances and I can safely say I will not be coming back. A while ago my husband and I sat on the patio and the waiter basically forgot about us, service was horrible and when he brought out extra salsa he dropped it on the ground resulting in it splattering all over my legs and never came back with extra napkins or to even clean it up off the ground. My family and I went there this past New Year's Day for my birthday which we do every single year and it was not busy at all so there should have been no reason why service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress barely came by to our table to refills on drinks or to check on us, the quality of the food wasn't good, and the atmosphere was not there. I don't normally leave bad reviews anywhere but this used to be my favorite place to come and I will not be returning and 90% of it is to due with the service. The last 3 times the waiters don't come back to check on the table, we would be without drinks for half of our meals which to me is losing the company money because if they would have come back I would have ordered more margaritas but the terrible service makes me want to just finish my food and leave. I used to like fiesta jalapeño and had a similar experience so when this opened closer to my house I was so excited and over the last year it's really gone down hill. The bathrooms are also gross and don't seem to be kept up with. It seems like some of the staff sits around at booths that family or friends are at and they forget about their tables which is what happened to me a previous time I went with my friend specifically for a margarita night, because the waitress never came back to our table we left and would have ordered another pitcher. Maybe later down the road I'll try it again but I'm sadly not coming back here for a while it's not worth it anymore. read more

This should have and would have been a five star review, because food was quite good and plentiful, prices were ok, and service overall was fine.... but: Table of three, two of us ordered fajitas. Food came out quickly enough, waiter balanced multiple dishes across his arms: A combo meal, plus the two "side" plates (beans, sour cream, rice, lettuce) that come with fajitas, plus the two sizzling fajita plates themselves. A lot to balance! And there was the problem. The combo plate was served, and the two side plates, and then the waiter dropped the sizzling fajita plates on the floor. Very hot cast iron narrowly missing my foot, with the food scattered all over the floor and my feet. All the other diners in the place startled and looked over at us accusingly wondering what all the noise was coming from our table. Well, accidents happen, and the crew was very quick to clean up, and even the replacements arrived quicker than expected. But, you know, our combo diner had to start eating while the other two customers waited for replacement, lest her food get cold, and our beans and rice got cold before the sizzling fajitas were replaced, but at least finally the other diners stopped staring at us. Again, accidents happen, it wasn't a huge deal, and we didn't say anything, just took it in stride. But at no point did the waiter say anything to us about the incident. The manager should have come out, asked if we were ok, apologized, at least recognized our embarassment in front of the other diners, and having had the cadence of our meal interrupted with resulting cold dishes. Maybe even a comped dessert might have been nice, or even our glass of beer comped. Nothing, no recognition at all, not a word. Point is, stars are being subtracted not because of the unfortunate incident, but at the lack of management even caring enough to have a friendly word with the customers about it. Unprofessional. Finally, when we got our bill we noticed tiny print at the bottom that says they will charge you more if you use a credit card. No warning on their website or menu, so no opportunity to have stopped at an ATM beforehand. Star deducted because nobody likes such surprises. Too bad for this place, otherwise would have ranked a five star. read more

After living in San Diego for decades, I've been looking for a really good chile rellenos but hadn't found a decent one until now and this restaurant delivers. Overpriced and disappointing. We were a little shocked by a $78 check for two meals in Avon OH. We ordered a strawberry house margarita, which was $9.45 on the menu and frozen watermelon margarita that was $12 and were charged $36 for 3 margaritas and told there was a price increase. The strawberry margarita was strawberry syrup instead of fresh strawberries- worse margarita I ever had. The carnitas and shredded chicken enchiladas were overcooked and the meat was dry. The Al Pastor taco, cheese, ground beef and the bean enchiladas were good, Refried beans were great, rice was moist and flavorful and guacamole was freshly made and one of the best we ever had. Chips were crispy and not greasy and salsa was thick with perfect spice. Flan dessert was homemade but looked and tasted old. I thought this was really good. It's right next to the Fairfield Inn where I was staying. They told me at the front desk if you mention you're staying there, they will take 15% off your order. I got the Burrito Azteca. Something you should know is it has quite a few of roasted vegetables in it. If you're not a fan of those, I wouldn't get this burrito. That being said, they were really good. I'm not a huge veggie fan, but the way these were grilled was good. Very fajita like. They added a nice flavor to it. Also worth noting is this burrito has 3 proteins, steak, chicken, and shrimp so that was good. Good variety. The chips and salsa were also good. I also got some cheese sauce. Here we go. I'd go lower on the star rating if I could. Been here loads of times and always had relatively good experiences. So this review can be edited going forward if it goes back to how things were. To say the night was dreadful would be about par for the course if not an understatement. Our hostess was absolutely amazing, didn't catch her name but she was the absolute best, nice and attentive. That was the best part of the whole night. Our server who's name might be Geovanny (I only know that from the receipt) so it might be a different name, spoke less to us that the hostess. He never checked in on us, asked how things were doing, took ages to do anything (literally timed it and it was 20 minutes from dropping off the drinks which was roughly 15 minutes after sitting down), he spilled the salsa while collecting our plates and said he would be right back to clean it up and literally came back 15 minutes later with just the check. I would say that's all well and good if the place is slammed pack, which unfortunately it was not. My wife's food was mainly hunks of fat in the tacos and mine had absolutely zero cheese or flavor when the description states the total opposite. I will say whoever the gentleman is that brought our food, he was attentive and had to run back to get our appetizer which our server didn't bring nor did he place the right amount. He also had to bring the chips and salsa again when we asked for another batch about 20 minutes prior to our server when he took our orders. It was the slowest service I've probably ever had here and that's counting when they are jam packed and busy. I know there's bad nights for people which is why this can be changed but whew boy was it atrocious. It'll be a nice long time before we venture back if we do. Not happy at all read more

I have been going here since it has opened and they never disappoint! The staff is friendly, helpful, funny, happy, and most importantly attentive to you and your guests! There is MANY different dishes you can choose from off their massive menu, my favorite and go to is the Chipotle Chicken... but only if you like a little heat will i recommend this dish!! I also will never go here without ordering the Queso Fundido as my appetizer... it's to die for!! (it's queso with chorizo in it)! Food is good. If you want a margarita, avoid at all costs. I've had a great experience at lunch but anytime I've ordered a pitcher they are subpar at best. Last time, figured hey it's a fluke. This time, served essentially tequila and water. They attempted to fix it twice and even after speaking to a manager, they just threw some orange liqueur into the glasses and returned the same pitcher we had. There was plenty of liquor and that wasn't the complaint. It's the fact that whatever "mix" they have is flavorless and has nothing to it. I would have been happy with sour mix over whatever that was. When they were initially served, they still looked like water until we added an entire glass of lemons and limes in attempt to rescue them. I had a wonderful experience for dinner. I sat at the bar and both bartenders were super engaging and they made an excellent spicy margarita I ordered dinner with a few different tweaks, and the food came out exactly as I ordered, and it was a huge plate of food i'm not one to go around recommending Mexican food, but this was amazing a special call out to the delicious guacamole. We were SO excited to try this place since it was closer to us and we thought had the same owners as Fiesta Jalapeños...we were so disappointed!! We stopped in to place a larger to go order and decided to have some chips and salsa while we waited. First of all, we sat at a high top table in the bar area. The table was super wobbly and our chairs were too...we were kind of afraid to move for fear of them breaking. And it was DIRTY! Our table and all the other high tops around us looked like they hadn't even been wiped down. Then, the waiter seemed to have difficulty writing my order down. A wonderful place to eat! We started with a pitcher of original margaritas-it was a nice surprise to have slices of orange, lemon and lime in the glass! It made a wonderful addition to the drink!
