It definitely feels extensive and organized with sections for soil, different climates/plant needs, and grade of plant. The indoor plants I've bought here are mostly doing great if a little neglected from my own care. We ended up planting some of the outdoor plants too early, but the quality was great overall. Given the late last frost date here, I would just wait to buy outdoor plants in the spring. The parking lot is extensive, and they have several community events as well as opportunities to host birthday parties for any age. Staff were really helpful and efficient at the register.

I by not means have a green thumb so I appreciate all of the fun facts and tips and tricks they were posted on now to keep some of the plants alive. When you first walk in, you see all types of soil snd. Will notice different sections of the store. We stumbled upon the furry friends, hamsters and guinea pigs as we were looking at the cacti's, then that led to the bird aviary where folks can donate to interact with the birds. There are so many of them. We then heard a waterfall and walked towards it and got stopped in our tracks by buddy the turtle next to the koi pond. It's literally like Narnia here. We walked through all of the plants and found the party room. So fun to hear that they do events and folks can paint their own pottery before planting in them. While walking around none of the staff really interacted with us so we didn't really know where to really find what we were looking for, but that's okay because the adventure was also really fun. Overall a great experience, highly recommend for anyone looking to build their garden.

He was incredibly generous with his time and offered us great advice, even showing us around and pointing out recommended plants and shrubs. We drove back home and did more research and thinking. A week later we returned and met up with Craig again. He discussed our choices and then showed us where to find everything. Along the way he gave us even more ideas by letting us look at pictures of his own extraordinary landscape. He never pressured us to buy anything and even came back later to check on us. I would like to add that his colleagues were also very helpful and open to dialogue in response to our questions. This is the best experience we have had in the Chicago area purchasing plants; we also learned a lot about landscaping in the process. Thanks Craig! Tsui-yee & Craig Chicago

This spring we went to purchase a tree for our yard. Found what we wanted for $800. We would prefer that professionals plant this tree. All good until: Tree cost: $800. Delivery and planting: $1200. So an $800 tree costs $2000 to have planted. Are you kidding me? 150% service charge to plant. That's like buying a $1000 big screen tv from Abt or Best Buy and paying $2500 total to have it installed. No rational person would do this. By comparison, we have purchased trees from other local nurseries and their planting fees are typically 50% of tree cost. So an $800 tree would cost an additional $400 to plant. Total cost: $1200. Who in their right mind would pay 150% of the cost of the item to have it "installed?" Do better, Lurvey. This is madness.

I expected much better quality and customer service support, especially after spending a significant amount of money on garbage. I have attached a photo of just one of the piece of trash I purchased

Their boutique is highly priced for profit and I totally get it - we all have to make a living. For example, they sell Geometry brand towels for $2 more than I've seen them anywhere else. They also had a 30% off Christmas items sale so I decided to purchase an ornament that said Park Ridge in that Rae Dunn style. It didn't have a price tag but I figured heck, why not support small business! Service was a bit of a miss that day and the lady let me know that because those ornaments are sold all year, they weren't included in the sale. I still bought it hopeful to support local and could not believe my total was $26. Full of regret, I'll hang it every year and share the story with grandkids to come LOL. Also, service was a bit of a miss as mentioned because the other associate looked at me asking if I was ready to purchase, even though she wasn't prepared to ring me up. I've visited twice and service and I've still purchased during both visits. It's not a store that stands out imo and I won't frequent again unless a friend insists. The Edie boutique next door has never greeted me and sells $90 sweaters so I'm pretty sure they're related. But don't let me stop you! Check it out for yourself and decide how much you want to support local.
