We are avid gardeners and are blessed to have a wide selection back home. Pickings here seemed slim. We asked around for a nursery to meet our needs and Gethsemane was the one nursery that my daughter's friends recommended. WOW - especially considering that it's a "city" garden center, AND it's the fall which is hardly high landscaping season. You had an extremely wide selection that was conveniently arranged to make the best use of our time. Prices to me are fair considering the quality of the plants and service. We visited on Friday to do recognizance and make a preliminary stack of possibles as we're only in town for a few days. We had spent two days demolishing the mangled sad mess left by the previous owners and were ready to get to work. On Saturday morning we took our daughter to review our choices, and she threw us a few curve balls, but the staff was prepared. We worked with Jennifer and Richie in trees and shrubs who allowed us to quickly eliminate things that would not work in their very shaded yard. Miriam in perennials was particularly helpful in that my daughter has some very specific likes and dislikes (Those ALL look like WEEDS to me says she!!) Miriam was patient and kind in helping sort through all of the available Hostas to color coordinate several varieties. Advice on mulch and watering were administered at check out and our precious green matter was delivered at the agreed upon time a few hours later. We dug, we sorted rock, we cut old roots that we only found when we dug and after about 6 hours it was done and we couldn't be more pleased. You were all very helpful and provided exactly the service in the compressed timeframe that was required. The Yews, Hostas, Azaleas and Lavendar all appear to be very healthy and we can't wait to watch them grow. Thank you for your service today.

What I found is a very nice nursery w/an assortment of items needed to do spring planting, landscaping materials & an assortment of seeds, plants, planters, gardening tools & fertilizers.... Basically almost anything you need to start or enhance a garden. They also have an area on the north end where they have a glass enclosed area. Unfortunately I really didn't have a lot of time to shop as I was on my way to pick up my older sister but would like to come back sometime when I have a little more time to peruse the items in the store

Then, Cory had a vision, a "zen garden" for the side of our yard, which my husband thought was brilliant. Together they came up with a plan that totally changed an unused muddy spot to a magnificent walkway with new bushes and personality. Daniel and Alberto made sure that everything was perfect when they put down the stones and did the new plantings. Cory then suggested we add lights, which we then did. KUDOS to Cory for her creativity and enthusiasm. She is wonderful to work with and you can see how much she enjoys what she does. When I looked for the other employee there was no one there. There was only one other customer so I don't understand how busy they could have been. Another reason for being so disappointed with this place is that some of the plants inside appeared a bit neglected. They're droopy, yellow leaves and just sad. I think a nursery should have every and single plant look like they're well taken care of and happy. Most plants inside didn't look like that. It's pretty sad. I put the planter I was going to buy down and left feeling like clearly they didn't need my business. I don't see myself returning to this place.

Oftentimes I leave frustrated because at the chain stores I'm passed off or rushed. I leave feeling like I'm a burden because they're too busy having to take care of something else. The staff at Lemoi is the opposite of that. They're super friendly and I'm always greeted by someone at the front entrance. They're consistent with having ample staff ready to help if you need something or have questions. Last month I found an LED snowman face on their webpage and called their site to see if I could pick it up in store. Within a week, they had my snowman and I left with my purchase pleased with the service and quality of my product. They seem to have a lot of items in stock too. Months ago, I went on a separate trip with my dad looking for a missing part to repair his sump pump. He had visited Lowes, Menard's and Home Depot with no luck but happened to find what he needed here at an affordable price. Lemoi Ace Hardware has been in the area since 1895. The ability to stay in business for that long says a lot about the quality and service they put out. My recent experiences are testament to that and I hope they stay in business for generations to come.
