It was okay, but I was here during winter and so I'm not sure that we came in at the best time. They did have a nice sale going on--50% off of their holiday stuff, including trees, four days before Christmas. I was looking for a Christmas tree but I couldn't find anyone around to help me with them so I had to leave. But I've been told that once spring has sprung it's a great place to plan your garden so I will return to check it out then.

Absolutely a wonderful place to spend some time shopping for your home or garden. There is nothing you can't find at this location. During my visit they were setting up the Young poinsettias to bloom in the greenhouses. Everyone that works there is very kind and helpful. They have an absolute huge selection of plants, shrubs, trees, seeds, etc. some things are a little pricey, however they do have a sale section and some items are marked down 30%.

    Beautiful flowers!

Another flower arrangement that's breathtaking! Thank you very much and this is by far the best flowers I've ever seen.

These plants go on for miles

I came to Pesche's on 5/5/22 and NOT ONE of the plants was wearing a mask! They obviously don't care about Covid! Then again, they're plants, so they probably care only about dirt and water and sunlight, and probably not any of my or your drama (gasp). They have lots of expensive plants here. I have no idea if they're a good deal or not. They looked all green and whatnot and not at all dead, so that's a good sign. Like seriously, there are miles and miles of plants, annuals, perennials, trees, flowers, shrubbery, indoor tropical varieties and gardening doodads inside and outside. There are roughly 45 greenhouses, 23 parking lots, and one idiot who can't count (spoiler alert: me). Spousey poo dragged poo poo me all around through the rain to find mumsy the perfect non-mum green gift. We found something after the 18 mile trek. I hope that she likes it. Don't mind me and my gloomy rainy day outlook! People are nice here, maybe even nicer than the plants. They're more talkative, anyway, these people. Anyway, go to Pesche's. You'll love it. Or hate it. I don't know you, so I can't predict that.

    Gazillions of annuals on display.

Yikes, its a "quiet" Monday mid-day and there's traffic police for the parking lot and a full parking lot! After perusing and selecting our choices amongst a gazillion very reasonably priced annuals and checking out at one of their 8 registers, I had two thoughts. One thought was that this place was like an efficient military operation, and it probably needs to be to handle their volume. The other thought was "don't ever come here on a weekend" as I shudder to think of what it might be like here, ha! Good for Pesche's though, and nice to see this very established local business continuing to do well.

Luckily I have this big cart at my house and I'm glad he let me know ahead of time because I did need help getting in the cart but worth every penny.

It definitely feels extensive and organized with sections for soil, different climates/plant needs, and grade of plant. The indoor plants I've bought here are mostly doing great if a little neglected from my own care. We ended up planting some of the outdoor plants too early, but the quality was great overall. Given the late last frost date here, I would just wait to buy outdoor plants in the spring. The parking lot is extensive, and they have several community events as well as opportunities to host birthday parties for any age. Staff were really helpful and efficient at the register.

I by not means have a green thumb so I appreciate all of the fun facts and tips and tricks they were posted on now to keep some of the plants alive. When you first walk in, you see all types of soil snd. Will notice different sections of the store. We stumbled upon the furry friends, hamsters and guinea pigs as we were looking at the cacti's, then that led to the bird aviary where folks can donate to interact with the birds. There are so many of them. We then heard a waterfall and walked towards it and got stopped in our tracks by buddy the turtle next to the koi pond. It's literally like Narnia here. We walked through all of the plants and found the party room. So fun to hear that they do events and folks can paint their own pottery before planting in them. While walking around none of the staff really interacted with us so we didn't really know where to really find what we were looking for, but that's okay because the adventure was also really fun. Overall a great experience, highly recommend for anyone looking to build their garden.

He was incredibly generous with his time and offered us great advice, even showing us around and pointing out recommended plants and shrubs. We drove back home and did more research and thinking. A week later we returned and met up with Craig again. He discussed our choices and then showed us where to find everything. Along the way he gave us even more ideas by letting us look at pictures of his own extraordinary landscape. He never pressured us to buy anything and even came back later to check on us. I would like to add that his colleagues were also very helpful and open to dialogue in response to our questions. This is the best experience we have had in the Chicago area purchasing plants; we also learned a lot about landscaping in the process. Thanks Craig! Tsui-yee & Craig Chicago

This spring we went to purchase a tree for our yard. Found what we wanted for $800. We would prefer that professionals plant this tree. All good until: Tree cost: $800. Delivery and planting: $1200. So an $800 tree costs $2000 to have planted. Are you kidding me? 150% service charge to plant. That's like buying a $1000 big screen tv from Abt or Best Buy and paying $2500 total to have it installed. No rational person would do this. By comparison, we have purchased trees from other local nurseries and their planting fees are typically 50% of tree cost. So an $800 tree would cost an additional $400 to plant. Total cost: $1200. Who in their right mind would pay 150% of the cost of the item to have it "installed?" Do better, Lurvey. This is madness.
