Lush Review Have been looking for a better shampoo/conditioner. I've always had long hair, yet recently cut around 6 inches off for over all health. It really seemed like my hair was in shock, dry/frizzy. As I walked in this dainty lil shop in Willowbrook Mall, I was pleasantly surprised. Jessica gave me minute, as I looked around, then asked what she could help with. I explained my dilemma and what I wanted. I decided on the Coconut Rice Cake, softens/hydrates, made with rice water. The Candy Rain conditioner, made with collected rain water, smelling clean, not overly perfumed. And The Roots hair treatment for fine hair is great, builds some body without being heavy/greasy. She threw in a little sample of wasabi shampoo that simulates hair follicles and a sample honey balm that my lips are still thanking her for! Don't forget to pick up a lil rust proof Tim to keep your bars in! Although a little pricey, you honestly don't need a lot to get the job done, so over all value is pretty good. My hair is definitely silkier, shinier and smells great! The shampoo bar cleans residue off like a champ. I started with less, then added a little more of the conditioner as my hair was dryer than I thought. I think I've found the new hair care products I've been looking for! Our first time at Lush and Shonda was amazing and extremely knowledgeable about all the products! I actually came in for A particular body spray. However when the lady with purple hair named Shana asked "how are you doing," I responded with "good" clearly she didn't hear me, or this wasn't a good enough response for her because following this she loudly, sarcastically, and passive aggressively stated "IM DOING GOOD- IM GREAT THANK YOU VERY MUCH." When I left, and told her I hope she have a very lovely day, and called requesting a manager. Joseph refused to allow me to talk with a manager, he witnessed it, and confirmed he witnessed it, even saying "it was a misunderstanding maybe she didn't hear you." Yeah okay. I called TWICE. Each time to speak to a manager, instead of allowing me to speak to who was in charge he kept interrupting me asking "do you need anything," "what are you trying to find. Were sold out of a lot of stuff." This is incredibly inappropriate, and simply not how to provide service. Sometimes people will not greet you back to your satisfaction, I am there to purchase a service not make friends with you. This store clearly employs people who do not care to provide decent service, or have the ability to adapt to various customers. read more

I have been a fan and avid user of Lush products since stumbling into a store in Toronto in 2002. I was enchanted by the market-style display of the goods, and the fact that Lush eliminated as much packaging as possible in order to avoid charging consumers for containers. Since then I have come to respect Lush for its corporate ethics and to love its unique scent combinations. Lush is actually a British company (lush.co.uk) licensed to a separate owner in North America. I actually do most of my ordering from the UK website as even with the exchange rate it's much cheaper! The prices really have gone up a lot in North America. Lush started as just standalone stores, which I really think is the best experience, but a fairly recent partnership with Macy's means that they have a little display in many malls now. Such is this location. It's a fairly typical Macy's Lush- I tend to think the strong scent of Lush stores makes them ill-suited to being part of a department store, alas. Although there's a Galleria location (also in Macy's) that I generally like better, Lush Memorial City is unique in having the fresh face masks- the holy grail of skincare products. These must be kept refrigerated, and have quick expiration dates- I can never use all of them despite covering my entire face and neck, but by God, they're worth it. Cleanse with one of their amazing cleansers, steam your face with a toner tab in a bowl of hot water, and then apply one of these fresh masks.... oh man. My favorite products = the shampoo pucks (thick hair like mine uses too much liquid shampoo), Sympathy for the Skin lotion (all of their body lotions really), and Dream Cream- which is a miracle cream. My husband and sister swear by Fresh Farmacy for having taken away their zit problems and gracing them with clear skin. If the prices seem high to you keep in mind that the lotions do take a long time to use up- or do what i do and save a bundle by ordering online. Hehheh. read more

Just shopped for two jersey bounce shampoos, I always shop here to restock and usually the staff is very friendly and always asks me if I want a sample. Today I checked out and asked the African American employee for a sample of the rosy cheeks since I love the smell of roses. She abruptly then asks me if I have oily or dry skin. I said dry skin and she said that the rose cheeks wouldn't work for my skin. She then recommends some other masks. I appreciate the effort but it comes off to the customer as you are not willing to provide a sample when that's what your business is known to do. Provide samples so a customer feels comfortable to purchase. I also own a small business and know how to handle my customers. I was not happy at all to receive that response from her. Wow. I am pleasantly surprised that my update to my review from 7 years ago is a good one. I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the sales associate but he was a sweet, young gentleman with dreadlocks and he was wonderful. He we helpful, welcoming, and informative. I believe the store-lady told me there are other stores in Houston, but I cannot remember the deets. I always made it a point to stop by at least one Lush store whenever in Europe or a USA city that had one. My favourite are the massage bars, pure shea butter with a selection of scents/oils included. Everything is all natural. More luxurious than your first thought of 'all-natural = hippie patchouli'...although they DO have patchouli scented stuff. The staff at Memorial City Mall's Lush store is super friendly & Zach was so helpful with helping me choose. He gave me a tour around the store & gave me like the best demonstrations of some of their products. I ended up purchasing Rub Rub Rub & the Charity Pot lotion cream. When I tell y'all this combo will have you soft & moisturized for 24 hours, believe me. Zach also gave me a sample of the Its Raining Men shower gel that I will be purchasing at our Lush here in New Orleans. Soaps, bombs, moisturizing bath bombs, bubble bombs, solid shampoos, bath gels, etc. While they do have some makeup and other items, I never come here for those and most people don't - the bath items are what stand out on their shelves here (literally) for a reason! Every time I run out of one of their bath products, I always think "I could make these myself" and look up directions online. I really can't stand the area of town this store is in. It has grown up a lot and traffic is a pain! Then I realize I'm just too lazy to make the items myself and I head out early on Saturday to avoid traffic and pick up my bath fizzies! Every year I go to Lush to buy the women in my life some wonderful bathbombs. They are the perfect gift, especially for someone with a brand new bathtub. Slowly, but surely I found myself looking at items that I could use. Now, I'm hooked. Most of the people working there have been nothing but great to me. There is one guy in particular, and I wish I knew his name, but he is the most helpful and nicest guy working there. He once just talked about every single product with me, and it didn't bother me because I had no clue what to look for. If you don't like that, he will back off for sure, but he is very knowledgable. My favorite bar of soap right now is Sexy Peel, and I love their Charity Pot lotion. Keeps the mosquitos away! I've walked passed this place a million times and never stopped. Today I stopped, and I'm so glad I did! They have such great products! I told the sales lady that I've never been there before and she was extremely patient with me. She got to know the fragrances I liked and guided me to some products that I fell in love with. She even washed my hands and demonstrated a lotion bar on my arm. A couple other sales ladies even walked by and gave their two cents. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable. Yes their products are pricy but they are worth it. Everything is natural, hand made and not tested on animals. The company even seems to have some great values. What can I say... I am a guy and I really like this place. I hate using some of the shampoos and soaps from a retail store. They dry out my scalp and skin and I smell so chemical... generic. Well, I usually go the Lush in First Colony Mall at the Macy's. We were hanging out in Memorial City Mall and they have a Lush inside their Macy's. Perfect! I'll load up on some Valentine's gift for the misses. Their products always smell so good... sometimes good enough to eat. Had a great experience today at Lush. This was my first time at an actual location ( only browsed online). The sales associate took her time to explain and demonstrate the products to me without being pushy at all. Lots of times when it comes to cosmetics I feel intimidated and this wasn't the case at all. I ended up with 2 Bubble Bars and 1 Bath Bomb. I have actually never reviewed anything on yelp before but I felt it necessary to do so. The store is cute, a bit small and cramped and not the best layout. The products are great, however, the staff leaves much to be desired. I was browsing around the store for easily 10 minutes and was not greeted when I walked in and not at any time did the associates try to help me or offer assistance. I worked in retail myself for a number years and understand that customer service can make or break your business. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I most certainly will not be purchasing any products from their line, at this store or any other LUSH store. read more

I'm so glad that a Lush worker came up to me and asked if I needed help, because I had no clue what to get! I've been struggling with acne and needed something to make it go away, so that's exactly what she helped me with, She first tested it out on my hand (my favorite part!) She started off with the Movis Soap which is AMAZING btw! and then the Tea Tree Water that is so hydrating and refreshing! then she put a moisturizer called Enzymion and it made my skin so soft and squeaky clean. On my other hand she put products that made my hand a velvety-smooth clean, and she basically made me decide which clean feeling I liked better which I thought was so nice. I picked the squeaky clean hand! I told her I only had $20 bucks but she made it work! She gave me a finger width chunk of the movis soap, the full size tea tree water and a sample of enzymion and I only paid $18! This trio had made all my acne go away, hydrates my face and brightened and evened my skin tone! I could not be any happier! I really wish I remembered her name because she works so well! This Lush has all your essential Lush needs, and the sales staff are on par with other Lush shops (overbearingly friendly but ultimately well-intentioned). The real problem is that it is just tucked inside Macy's haphazardly. I was really pleased to see that they have a proper standalone store being put up some ways down the mall. For my first time ever going to Lush, I received great customer service and had an awesome experience! The representative right away greeted me as I entered and when I asked about a specific product (the Lip scrubs!) she was highly knowledgeable and helpful in helping me choose the one I needed! She even informed me that soon they would be launching new products for Halloween and went out of her way to make conversation with me. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I am in love with my lip scrubs! With anything, if you are sensitive to smells (like my sister was) be wary of entering. Whenever I go to Lush, I always get greeted with a hello and the staff members help me out with what to get. When I went to this Lush however, I was greeted with no replies and no one helped me out! Some of the staff members weren't helping people yet here I am wanting to be helped out! I wanted to know which face mask I should get for breakouts yet I did not feel the need to ask since I was just ignored and didn't bother asking.
