Worst customer service ever. The store shows that it closes at 9:00 PM on Sunday. My mom and I arrived at 8:15 PM, and there were still a few customers inside. The girl had locked the door, so I knocked and showed her that the closing time is 9:00 PM. After we came in, she rushed us to pick our items. I was standing by the mirror trying some lipsticks to show my mom, and another girl came up with a vacuum and kept hitting our shoes with it. When we tried to pay, she gave us the worst attitude, saying, "Please sign. You don't see that?" She also scoffed at my mom, which was very disrespectful. This was one of the rudest and most unprofessional experiences we've ever had. read more

Me and my sister decided to stop by for some sunscreen. We typically buy our k-beauty online from stylevana but it takes forever so we thought by finding a store in the city we could avoid the long shipping time. The store itself is very clean and has practically every popular k-beauty brand. However, the prices were kinda insane. I understand it's imported and that's why it's more expensive, but there were products being sold for double/triple the price from what it is listed on stylevana, yes style, or olive young. If you're desperate for a product then I think this a great option however, Id rather wait a month for a product than pay triple. read more

Such an honor being the first male reviewer to brag about a Korean cosmetic store in Chinatown. Blooming Cosmetics 韩国化妆品 is tucked on the side next to GW Supermarket window. I'm all about gifting. The cuter the unique the better. I didn't know the name of store at first because there wasn't any English signs on the building, besides Korean Cosmetics. So, I had to buy something to learn it from the receipt. Employees are always friendly. I'm novice about cosmetics because they are not for me. What I like the most is they let me browse and let me take pictures (again, I'm here buying gifts). Every time I walk by to grocery shopping, some cute things are always starring at me or me staring at them. I can't wait till we go back to the office. If you want Korean skincare products, this is the place. Sun Kim is the owner of the store, which is somewhat like a franchise; it is a direct sales outlet of Korea's LG Cosmetics products, which includes brand lines like Whoo and Hera. She also has some AmorePacific brand lines like Isa Knox as well as road shop brands like TonyMoly. I was surprised by the variety. Having sheet masks by the pack goes without saying; I particularly liked the eye mask she had. She doesn't add additional mark up; instead, she uses a $1 = KRW (Korean Won) 1000 exchange rate. It's not the best rate but according to a patron that was in the shop with me when I walked in, the pricing is better than in NY. And the products themselves are not cheap. A skincare line by Whoo will range you $300-400. Isa Knox is much more affordable, but in my experience, it's okay - nothing special or correcting, even its correcting line, but fine as a preventative. So I probably will be buying Whoo next. If you're like me and use primarily Korean skin products, check this place out. read more

Really good customer service with great advice if you need it. If you are into K Beauty this is definitely the place to go. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law are always bringing me their favorite products from their home country, Korea, and I saw most of the items they've given me at this store! It was nice to find somewhere with Nature Republic items because they are very inexpensive if you need basics. There is also a wide variety of face masks, most of which are 2-3$. There are also cute little wallets, pencil cases, and smaller bags that would make a great gift to any girl. K-pop posters seemed popular among the kids who were shopping there. I was most impressed by the full size skin care kits which are great if you are new to Korean skincare or want to give a woman a nice gift. New favorite beauty store ! read more

I like the convenience of finding Korean beauty products that are usually sold online in this store. It's really nice that you get to see them in person and see what you're buying. Unfortunately costumer service really lacks. Older woman was sweeping around the store loudly on the phone making it hard to maneuver in the small space. I politely said "excuse me", but she didn't move coming across that I was an inconvenience in their store. I was asking about a specific lip color. The testers were out of the shade that I wanted so one of the young ladies asked the same older woman, who I assume is the owner, if she can open one for me. She said in English loud and clear "no, we only have a few left". I was thinking no problem, I get it, but at the same time, you must really not need my purchase. And how rude she is on top of that. I ended up buying the lip shade because I didn't want to let that old woman deter me. I love the lip color so I'm super happy about that. The biggest problem I had with this store was the 2 employees. They kept following us around the store and giving my sister and I dirty looks while speaking to each other in a different language, and they were also recording and taking pictures of us "discreetly". After we GAVE THEM BUSINESS and left the store, an employee ran after us out of the store and accused us of stealing (she saw me opening my bag and assumed I was stealing when I was just trying to get my phone) and asked to see inside of my bag. After she saw that I didn't steal anything, she didn't apologize for making such an accusation, but instead just walked back into the shop. Besides the unprofessional actions, the store was very hot due to the amount of people in it and the lack of air conditioning; the store also smelled very bad. And another thing, if you don't plan on spending more than $10, don't buy anything because, for some reason, they have a 50¢ transaction fee if your purchase is under $10 and you're paying with a card. I was a little skeptical to enter this store after reading the rude customer reviews but I really needed to restock some Kbeauty items. So I ended up going and taking a chance on it. It was very packed when we went so we went to the back of the store on the clearance section first away from the crowd of people and to see what was on sale. Right away I was asked if I needed help finding anything in particular by the owner. I told her what my skin concerns were and asked what she recommended. She was very friendly and interactive giving me different types of suggestions from toner, essence, serum, face moisturizer to face masks. All the information was so helpful and it felt nice to have a different person explain the Kbeauty products to me then me having to do my own research or attempt to read the little writing. I will say it was very hard to say no to her for some products because of how good she was on selling the products and charming. So I ended up spending more than what I had accounted for however it was worth it. Whenever I asked about other products she was honest and said the products I had were enough to cover what I looking for so I knew she wasn't just pushing to make a sale but also for what works best for my skin. I did notice the girls that typically laugh and talk another language while looking at you. However because I was with the owner I don't think they really got a chance to be rude because the owner was on them lol. By far the best K beauty shop in Houston that I've been to quality wise, this shop is TINY but it's filled with some of the best/most popular korean skincare lines. The ranges are great as well from the cute lines (Tony Moly, Cosrx, Laneige +) aiming for the younger crowds as well as the more fancy lines (Sulwhasoo, History of Whoo, Ohui +) for aging skin. I came here looking to get another cushion makeup and this place did not disappoint, they have about fifteen different brands to choose from and the ladies were very helpful and honest with their opinions of the products which i like! There were a lot of skincare sets, masks, and makeup so tons to choose from if you're needing something new. I did notice that the prices are at least two dollars more than online retailers but that's to be expected since it's in a store. Overall a great experience here and will definitely return for my K beauty needs when in houston! read more

I love this place! It's really small but the ladies that work there are always helpful and will let you sample almost anything in the store. They sell a lot of high end Korean skin care and makeup which can be pretty pricey, but they also sell some cheaper stuff like Tony Moly. They have a wide selection of the Tony Moly face masks and I think they're $2 or $3. I personally like the Petitfee eye patches. This store is the only place I know of that sells them, except Amazon. I've been a couple times and I will definitely come back. It's my favorite Korean skin care store. read more

I have been to this place a few times already mainly for their skincare products since they don't usually have makeup I usually use. It's a very good place for finding some popular drugstore and high end korean products with many adorable and pretty accessories. They always have deals for face masks. Of course, some products will be more expensive in-store than online (I assume because of the price of importing?) so I try to compare the in-store and online prices with my phone. Some of the employees may be very quiet and just watch you, and they sometimes might not be that helpful when you ask. But if you get the chance to talk to the owner, Miss Kim, you'll really get the help and get some good recommendations for your needs. She has very good knowledge of products/brands. She overheard me saying how I didn't like a specific brand's and explained how the brand in general was more for a specific skin type. She just looked at me and my cousin's faces and could tell which products would help our own personal skin types and explained how they worked. Just ask a personal problem and she can find the best product for you, pricey or not. And even though I had to quickly leave after paying, she stopped me to give me some many samples to use and even labeled the order of how I should use the sample. Overall, a friendly store with some great products. Just maybe check first if a price is really worth it. I will still always try to come by whenever I'm in chinatown to try new products or avoid buying online. read more

The service is totally lacking though, employees awkwardly stand over your shoulder and the older female employees just stare at you as if they're saying "buy something or get out". The younger employees try to give you some pointers about how each products work but they're a little overwhelming if you're only there to browse and not inquire about products (plus they still do that weird thing where they follow you around???). Also, no samples whatsoever even if you spend $50+... Youre better off visiting the face shop on bellaire or tony moly on hwy 6. read more

Prices are good (e.g. Benton products are the same as the eBay going rate so you pay tax for essentially a convenience fee). Then I discovered even more products from April Skin (one of the most trending skincare lines for teens) Also, I had the chance to meet the owner today. She was kind enough to consult with me about my acne problems for a long time. She was straigthforward when she said that she would not recommend products just to make money. They sell korean beauty products you can buy online. Really appreciate the existence of this store since you can see the products at face value. But the prices of etude house items are really overpriced. The lip stains are about 40% more expensive than what you pay for online. Also, the customer service is horrible. We asked one of the ladies if she had a lipstick color on stock and without saying anything she pulled it out of a drawer and held it out in front of our face. We said thanks but she just gave us a look and walk away. Then later on, the person checking us out gave us the biggest grimace ever. We were really upset that they had such bad attitudes but we didn't want to make a scene so we just left. I'd understand if they were being this way if we were loud or being obnoxious but it was just my cousin and I. This place is great. I dropped by before dinner and was pleasantly surprised at their selections. They sell Banila Co. cleansing oil, Tonymoly and Innisfree masks, and other high end products like History of Whoo and Sulwhasoo. They also sell some NatureRepublic, Benton products, and other popular sunscreen. I was surprised they sold this lip tint I just ordered on Memebox for a lesser price. The lady at the shop help me purchase the Benton snail essence due to my skin problems. She also gave me samples of the Sulwhasoo essence. Best of all, they accept credit cards.
