My mother wanted to get mother-and-daughter facials for the kick-off of her 80th birthday. We were only in Katy for one day so finding a reservation for two people at the last minute was impossible. So I wanted to make sure mom had hers. We booked with Norma based on available time and proximity to our hotel. I am ever so glad we picked her. We showed up at a townhouse, super cute, but I thought for sure I had the wrong place. We entered a space that was clean and calming. Norma's demeanor was professional, welcoming, and very soothing. My mother explained we were trying to do a mother-daughter day. Norma smiled and said it would be her pleasure to care for us both. We had side-by-side rooms. After a quick assessment, she recommended receiving the Signature Facial for both of us. She juggled us both without showing a sense of being juggled. I felt very calm and cared for but most importantly, I felt that Norma was taking the most excellent care of my Mother. This facial was the second one in my life and I am in awe of the difference it has truly made to my skin. It is quite obvious that she is very knowledgeable about skin and its care and that she is passionate about educating others about a continued skin care regimen. Other reviewers have said they felt like they have known Norma their entire life, and it is true; she welcomes you, cares for you, and advises you about skincare like a dear friend. My mother and I travel to Katy often and I genuinely look forward to seeing our new friend for more skincare soon. It was amazing. read more

I went to Norma's on Friday for facial therapy and also got a back facial. She has a very nice and calming set up. Norma was so friendly and I felt like I'd known her for years. I had not had a facial in many years and forgotten how wonderful it felt after you are done. My skin felt so smooth and clean. It gave me a very invigorated feeling. Not Impressed. I'm only sharing my experience as I myself read reviews before trying a new place, which is the reason I initially came here. Here's my PERSONAL experience: I had three appointments over the course of about three months and spent at least $1000 (which included products). I strictly followed her regimen those three months and kept up with with a monthly facial. I initially came here because I wanted to improve my skin texture but over the course of those months I did not see one bit of difference in that matter. If anything that got worst as I started to get little bumps (that were not initially there). The only difference I saw was that my skin was less red ( not that I was prone to major redness in the beginning but just a little) but regardless I LOVE THAT and that's why I kept coming. In my mind a little difference is better than NO difference, plus change takes time. After the third facial I decided this place was not for me as my skin only kept getting dryer and rougher than when I first came in. Not only that but I asked her to wax my eyebrows and I noticed the next day she waxed way to much from the front of the right eyebrow and now my eyebrows were uneven :/. Regardless, I kept using the products she recommended as I had already purchased them but all I kept getting is little tiny bumps all over my face. I stopped using her products just to see if my skin would get better and it did!!! I was so disappointed :/ I thought I had found my go to place, plus, I had invested all this money. Norma gave me my first facial in a very long time. It was a great experience. The Norma Signature was exactly what I needed. My face needed the TLC and she recommended a simple routine until I see her next time. I also got the pleasure of spending my last 20 minutes with Liliana who gave me a reflexology message. I went here for a facial today as she carries babor products. I'm very picky when it comes to facials and like a"treatment" facial rather than a spa facial. I called ahead and made sure that she did extractions and focused on this. She confirmed. However, today, in the midst of a facial, she's telling me that my blackheads were too stubborn and she was afraid to damage my skin. She hardly spent 5 minutes!!! Then I was looking forward to the shoulder/neck massage. She spent maybe 3 minutes. She did it so fast it was hardly relaxing. It was also done with cold water! A major part of her facial is spent with you being in the room alone with some sort of mask on (a good hour). At over $100, should have at least gotten a decent massage. It took me over a year in Houston doing research to find an esthetician who I felt had the top qualifications and services offered that fit what I was looking for (I was previously living in Miami). Norma is a rare find among all the facialists and spa offerings around Houston. The expertise and knowledge she has is freely shared during visits. Even though she has the office in a residential community it is highly professional and inviting when you enter. The facial rooms are super relaxing and comfortable. Both visits so far I've done the Signature Facial where Norma looks over your skin to see what you need done (and not just what you want done). The products are high quality and Norma is happy to give advise on products you are already using and looking over ingredients to see if they are quality products. She provides recommendations as a consultant but is not trying to 'sale' you. Norma is a professional at assessing skin issues/types. I thought I had combination skin but during my first visit, she told me that I have sensitive skin. I've been using sensitive skin products since and my skin is healthier now: not as red in areas, can handle waxing, and has a better overall appearance and texture. Norma has a wide variety of products to purchase (never a push to buy) that you can't buy in a normal pharmacy. She also gives recommendations based on a client's budget. I can't believe I haven't written this 5-star for Norma sooner!!! She has absolutely SAVED my skin! Looking back at photos of myself I can see the improvement! I had my regular facial with her today. I love the way my skin feels when I leave; buttery soft and super smooth! She customizes your facial for you. I scheduled for microdermabrasion but she said I didn't need it and did a mask instead. Hey, don't make fun, it's my business to know where I can find the best of everything spa. After hundreds of facials I can honestly say that Norma Garza gives the best. It's just a one woman skin care shop in a strip center on Yorktown but she has been in the business for 30 years and knows exactly what my skin needs each time I go to see her. Her prices are more reasonable than the average day spa so I like that too because I can visit more often! She has remodeled a town home into her skin care salon and done a really nice job with it. She talked through the different products she was using and what she was doing, which I always appreciate. Norma is great at what she does. She custom tailors each facial to meet your skin needs. I recently had an herbal peel and follow up facial and my skin looks and feels so much better. Dark spots are fading and lines are much less noticeable. She's not cheap though, so be prepared to shell out a little more. I went for my initial facial and purchased a few products. I followed up with Norma over the phone on my facial and product usage. Got the impression that she was not really into follow up calls. I shrugged off and went back in one month like she recommend and was given more products to try. I once again followed up with her on post facial and product usage. In my correspondence, I told her that I was looking for a skincare regimen that did not include lots of products since she knew of my stressed skin. Her email respond to me was "I can't help you." I was shocked as a business owner myself that this is how customers are treated. In light of my years of good experiences getting facials from Norma I wanted to respond to Soo K.'s review. First, I want to extend my deepest sympathies to her. I too, years ago had a facial nightmare though NOT of Norma's doing. It was a laser facial nightmare that left 2nd degree burns on areas of my face. My face was literally an open wound; it was a horrifying experience. I went to Norma in tears and she HEALED my skin. If it weren't for her expertise and skills, my face would have been forever scarred. That was over ten years ago and I have been a faithful client ever since. However, my thoughts don't end there. While I truly sympathize with what Soo K. is going through I cannot think for a moment that all that she is experiencing is from two facials, months ago. The fact she is continuing to have adverse reactions all this time later points to something deeper going on in her body. Stress can play a VERY big part of what our body does and how it reacts. I would encourage her to get some blood tests done. Her body is trying to tell her something and this could be a blessing in disguise. I don't want to minimize in ANY way what she is going through. However, I think her assessment of the situation is in error. Through the years of seeing Norma my body and health have had challenges and our skin tells the story of what's going on internally. Norma is NOT your average aesthetician. She is truly gifted at what she does and she is like a well trained chemist with her products. This has been her life and her study for 30+ years. I don't even know how long i've been going to Norma. 15 years? 20 years? And i like the new location. The Galleraia area on a Friday afternoon was a zoo. Tthe new location is quiet and just as pleasant. Every once in awhile I try to do without her and my skin will start looking transparent so back I have to go. I just had a fabulous facial from Norma's Touch as I do once a month. I recently recommended Norma to a friend and she loved her treatment. She told me that she was going to write a glowing review online because she was so pleased. It made me realize that i don't think I have ever done that. So now is the time because I know that I rely on reviews when I am purchasing a product or service. So here goes... I have been going to Norma's Touch for my skincare needs for 15 years. She was recommended to me by a friend who always had a beautiful complexion. She said it was Norma who kept her on a regimen that really showed results. She was right. I am now 66 years old and people always comment on my skin and how young I look. I have Norma to thank for that. Over the years I have had many facials and specific treatments for my skin concerns. What really impresses me about Norma is her willingness to work with your skin concerns and your budget. She has excellent skincare products with several lines from Europe, including Babor which is one of my favorites. I also love the makeup lines she carries like Colorscience which has continued to help my skin. My adult daughters also go to Norma for preventative treatments that are specific to their age and they love her.
