What I really like is that the flight had five beers rather than just four. Everything I had was delicious. From the sours, to the ales, to the IPAs, there is something for everyone. Staff was super friendly and attentive. What I really think this place could benefit from is having board games or table games like connect four. While the environment was lively, I do love a good board game and brew. Would highly recommend and come back.

When we first walked up there were 2 young ladies at the door who I assumed were hostesses but could not be more disinterested. I said we were meeting friends for dinner and they unhelpfully advised to "go in side and look for them." As our friends said they had booked a table one would have thought that the hostess could have checked to see if they arrived and if so at which table they were sitting. No such luck. Out waitress must have been from the same hospitality school as the hostesses. Totally bland as borderline unfriendly, in that there was zero interaction or anything resembling any sort of welcome or personally. Never even gave us her name. Again this was our first time there so we' were unfamiliar with the operation. There were a few servers but they seemed to come and go which made up suspect they were serving tables elsewhere on the premises. This was confirmed when we tried to find her for the bill, that we asked, again, for separate ones, which came, as expected, as one bill. So to find her for the bill, find her to correct it and get it back was close to 30 minutes.0 Equally annoying as the face that there was one, single seat bathroom in the bar. There may have been other facilities, but true form, there was no help from any of the staff. BOTTOM LINE: the food isn good, reasonably priced and good portions. The bar portion was very nice and inviting except for just one single use bathroom. The service and friendliness of the waitress and hostesses left much to be desired. Parking was off street as they don't have sufficient parking (we parked some 2 blocks away..) If you live within walking distance, wish to sit at the bar and listen to good music (at least last night) I would recommend Dox.. As we live close to an hour away, I can not make a recommendation to travel to have good food and entertainment at the expense of substandard service, questionable drinks and scant sanitary facilities. Sorry, it would not take much to get a higher rating but prolly not enough for us to make a return visit.

This is clearly a local bar - it seemed everyone knows everyone. Randomly, you can gamble on horses and on quick draw. For $10, the quick draw game provided us a half hour of entertainment (and $4 of winnings.. or, said another way, a $6 loss). So, we were certainly a bit overdressed, but everyone was so friendly, it was not awkward or uncomfortable at all. The beers are unique - from Blood Orange Ale to Apricot to your standard Bud Heavy in a bottle. And, since it was happy hour, every beer cost $3.50. I do not think we could have found a better deal. It's clean, and unlike most bars, it seems they actually use a dishwasher for the dishes. Random location, but a cool hang out, at least if you're trying to pass the time before a wedding at Bridgeview.

It was loud, slightly unruly, and some patrons were friendly while others were a bit out there, all things you'd come to expect at a bar on St Patrick's Day. Once my date and I spotted an open table, we quickly snagged it. After grabbing a few beers and putting in an order of onion rings, to my surprise I ran into an old friend who I haven't seen in years! It was great to catch up with him while we people watched.. and watched.. and watched. When the onion rings came out, I was pleasantly surprised just how darn good they were! They were perfectly battered, crispy, and clearly used some thickly cut onions (which IMHO, is one of the keys to a great onion ring). One of my favorite parts of the evening was when I put on my favorite Biggie song on the jukebox. I quietly enjoyed watching half of the room nod their heads and vibe to it while the other half looked around wondering who the h*ck put the song on. But on all the social media sites I checked, including Yelp, opening time was referenced as 12 noon. When we arrived at 12 the door was locked. We walked around for a while, returning 10 minutes later. This time the owner opened the door and told us to come back at 1. When my wife explained that various sites indicate the opening time at 12 he seemed surprised, but not especially concerned nor apologetic, and simply repeated that we should come back at 1. I was about to mention to him that since we live about 20 minutes away and that traveling back and forth would be impractical, as would be walking around for 50 minutes, perhaps we could be permitted to visit somewhat earlier. But by then, the door was closed. It's a shame. The bar has so many glowing reviews and it looks like a cool place. Too bad we'll never see the inside.
