Absolutely Horrible Service - Ruined My $250 Dress! I am beyond furious with this dry cleaner. I brought in my $250 white dress, which I wore once for a special occasion. Not only did they return it looking nothing like it should, but it was completely ruined. The once white dress is now a bizarre shade of gray/purple. When I confronted the staff, they were rude, dismissive, and had no solution. They made no effort to rectify the situation, just said their cleaner turned it a different color. Save yourself the frustration and NEVER bring your clothing here. If I could give zero stars, I would. DO NOT USE THIS DRY CLEANER! read more

I've been here a few times and they always treat me very well. Recently, I got a zipper fixed on a uniform. The damaged was really bad but they were able to fix it for a reasonable price. Can't tell there was any damage at all. I've also had a few things dry cleaned. Always done in a timely manner. I'll continue to go back for alternations and dry cleaning. read more

I broke my own number one rule: READ the reviews first! They were spot on. No pun intended! Absolute worst and most horrific experience from a cleaner's -ever. If you care about your clothing, avoid this place at all costs. Even worse is in requesting a call back from the owner because the employee said she would be the one to talk to -still waiting. As other reviewers mentioned, the original owners retired. Now, the Patels (The building says Lutz but the phone number says Patel) completely ruined my coat. This place actually added more stains that weren't there in the beginning along with some black dirty stuff on an off-white coat. The employee said the stains came from the solvent. Also told that the black stuff is because they didn't use a lint brush. That makes no sense that you didn't use a lint brush but said it was ready for pick up. She finally said she could take $5.00 off as a courtesy/employee discount since you couldn't get the stain out. She said she cleaned my coat 4 times. She also sarcastically said to take it across the street to the other cleaners to see if they would be able to get the stain out (now multiple stains after they did something to it) ... Just ridiculous. On the last day of dealing with this (this was my 3rd time trying to pick my coat up.) I finally took my coat with me. She said she could give me 2 or 3 dollars off my next visit. I have going to Lutz Cleaners for over 20 years. The service has always excellent until this new owner took over some 6 months ago. I went in to get my shirt sleeves short and the shirt came back with 1 sleeve 2 inches shorter than the other!!! The new owner and the Alterations lady got aggressive about this and started blaming me for everything, not allowing me to explain! Ridiculous! I will never go back to them again. read more

Super disappointed in the quality and care received from this establishment. I recently moved from Sandy springs and needed a cleaner near my new home to take my things to. I tried this place out because it was close by and I really needed to get my throw professionally cleaned. I took my RH faux fur throw in for a cleaning and to have it restitched - he explained it would be ready in a week. I came back a week letter and it was "clean" but had not been sown. He admitted that he forgot and I asked him, if he was able to take care of it. He confirmed that he would and said it would take another week. At that moment, I probably should've taken my throw and found another location, but I trusted that the job would be done. To my disappointment/dissatisfaction I received my throw back and the stitching is just unacceptable. It does not match the rest of the throw and on top of it all - it cost me $45. I wish that he would've just told me that he could not do it. I wouldn't recommend, he was nasty and completely dismissive about the whole thing. read more

Log in Earlier this summer, I took two sofa covers to be cleaned at Lutz Cleaners and was informed it would take a week because the sofa covers needed to be sent off site. The covers were returned professionally done and I was extremely happy. I recently took six covers for my sofa to Lutz Cleaners. When I brought in six covers, I was told they could be done in just a couple of days. I mentioned my previous experience, but the owner assured me that the cleaning had be done on-site. When I returned home, and discussed it with my husband, he reiterated that last time we were told they had to be sent off site. I decided to call Lutz Cleaners for clarification. The owner reassured me that they had plenty of experience and I had nothing to worry about. Again, he reiterated it was done onsite. On Tuesday, I received a call informing me that one of the covers had been damaged. Specifically, about one-third of the chaise seat cover was completely burned and discolored. When I went to get the cleaning on Thursday, the discussion quickly escalated into a frustrating argument. The owner now shared he was new management. I was told that the person who pressed it was new and inexperienced. While the manager acknowledged the damage and offered to pay for a new cover, he subtracted the cleaning fee of $170. I was disheartened to learn that the cover (upholstery) I purchased five years ago from Room & Board is no longer available. What troubled me most was the manager's nonchalant attitude and his insistence that he didn't understand why I was upset. He kept saying it was an "honest mistake". He spoke to me in a condescending manner I strongly advise anyone considering Lutz Cleaners to think twice before trusting them with their valuable items. read more

I have gone to Lutz Dry Cleaners for 33 years. The quality of service and the kindness of the owners has always been wonderful - until today. I went in to take some things and asked a few questions, like what days they press. I explained what I wanted done to my sheets and the man at the desk just started grabbing everything, not allowing me to explain what I wanted done to my husband's shirts. While grabbing, he was about to mix my things up with someone else's clothes as they remained on the counter. The new owner spoke down to me, and stared at me with what looked to be hate. I am unsure whether he is prejudiced and/or sexist but he can kiss the nearly $400 I spend there monthly goodbye. Terrible ending to a wonderful legacy. read more

I had a very positive experience at this cleaners. The guy that works in the front was very nice and prompt. I walked in with my baby in his car seat to drop off a tablecloth. He offered to bring my item out when it was finished so that I wouldn't have to carry the car seat in again and I thought that was very thoughtful. They did a great job on the tablecloth and I will be returning. read more

Jimmy picked out this place from a sign in the window that advertised a deal on dress shirts. He's a big fan since I believe he gets them for a $1 a shirt when he brings in at least 10. But with Jimmy living in CA this summer, I had to go pick up our dry cleaning - 5 shirts, a skirt, a sweater, and a bridesmaid dress that had red wine spilled ALL over the front. When I went to get it, I was greeted with a friendly smile. When I said my last name, the owner asked where my husband was, and said that he was glad to finally meet me. That's a nice touch. And the dress was completely clean! I might be more willing to by dry-clean only clothes, now that I know I can count on Lutz. read more

This review compares Lutz Cleaners with Ralph's Cleaners: I brought one dress shirt and one dress pant to either store on the same day, minutes apart, as that is their distance from each other. Ralph's was 50 cents more expensive, but they got it back to me the next day. Lutz was the day after, which is usually standard practice. Timing did not matter to me so I don't count it here, but I'm sure Lutz would have tried to make the next day possible if I had requested. They came back in equal clean condition, with Lutz adding a "We are Green" canopy over the hangers. I will be using Lutz from now on and the reason is simple: the owner is much friendlier, and seems like a much more genuine and humble person. For the 2 minute interactions I have at this store, it wins in my book. Why not have that interaction better your day instead of worsen it or leave it bleh? read more

Always nice, always affordable. Great location too. We love these guys! To leave a review you have to write more than that... So I guess if I had to say more I'd say that Martinzing is right next door and we couldn't figure out why there were 2 cleaners so close together until we took stuff to Martinizing. They're horrible. So expensive and the clothes don't come out with $100 bills in the pockets, so I can't figure out why they're at least twice the price. I'm glad they're so expensive though, bc we would have never found Lutz, and now we'll never go anywhere else. I've been using this dry cleaners for ~1 year now, and I love them. I am super sporadic about dry cleaning, and it's easy for me to go months without coming in -- the owner remembers me every time. I've had alterations done here as well as cleaning vintage and hand-made garments, and everything comes back fantastic. When I bother to explain fiber content, they listen to me -- which is something of a miracle, I think. I am really glad my friend who has lived in this area for a long time recommended me to them, and I will pass on the favor! read more

My boyfriend has been going to this dry cleaner for 5 or 6 years and has always had a wonderful experience. I moved to this side of town a couple years ago and started using them and have had nothing but great experiences. Their prices are also very reasonable. The owner is very friendly and always recognizes me. Most recently I went in to have a bridesmaid dress altered and the alterations woman was very knowledgeable and had me move around and sit down in my dress to see how any alterations would effect sitting/moving. She ended up thinking I didn't need any alterations at all, but they still steamed my dress for no charge. read more

Best cleaners in town, hands down. 1) INCREDIBLY friendly. After coming in there once, the staff/owner already knew my name. 2) SUPER reasonable prices. I had a short silk cocktail dress and a delicate sating vintage dress both dry cleaned for just over $20. (I know, right?!) 3) They are eco-conscious and socially aware: for October, they are doing a pink hanger program to support breast cancer awareness and fundraising. They ruined one of my genuine hooded rabbit puffer coat by ironing it with a metal iron. There is now a huge burned iron print on the front of my biege puffer coat. It's ruined forever now. Will not trust them with anymore expensive items. read more

My husband and I have used Lutz cleaners ever since we moved to the area. The owners are extremely nice and our clothes are always perfectly done. And on our schedule! He recognizes us when we come in and is always pleasant to speak with! You can tell that he has pride in his business and his work. I brought in a half silk (the top) and half leather dress (the skirt portion for the dress) and asked him if he could clean it. He was very honest with me and said he could do it under certain stipulations (the cleaning tags on the article) and explained the difficulty. I was turned away by six other dry cleaners at this point in Savannah (my previous home town). He cleaned the dress and it came out very nicely! The more difficult stains were less obvious but I wasn't expecting perfection given the difficulty of the job. My husband brings his own hangers for his dress shirts (so we don't have to re-hang the shirts) and they are totally fine with it. We have also sent a variety of sweaters, dresses, cashmere scarves, silks, wool suits and bed linens- all came out perfectly. Overall, we would recommend Lutz to everyone. And we have. Supporting local family businesses is important to us and the ones who provide quality work should be recognized! Thank you Lutz! read more
