I must come back to alter my review because this is too much. I have plates that Dr Abe Abel gave me for the next seven years. He took the bottom mold with my back molars still in...I kept telling him that it was digging into my mouth. When the plates came in, the first time I put them in I choked on the top plate because it doesn't even reach the roof of my mouth. I've choked and almost died TWICE since I've gotten the plates, once because I put them in and once because I can't. Also he left teeth and bone fragments in my mouth. My children are in their 30s however with the shoddy work he did on me I wouldn't trust my grandchildren ANYWHERE AROUND HIM.... ... AND he refuses to fix the terrible job that he's done. I don't know where to turn, will be contacting medical board as he brushed me off with fragments in my mouth and plates that I've had FOR OVER A YEAR because I gave up -- he's the MOST IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNDEPENDABLE PERSON--- missed more than half of my appointments. I have made appointments at this place a few times and each time I've had a problem but I attempted to give them another chance but yesterday was the worst experience at a Dental Clinic that I've ever had. I had to literally pull my son from the dental chair because I can't trust someone that keeps messing up on everything. When I ask for an appointment they should know exactly what is going on because they ask for your information and what you need performed should already be in their system but when you go to your appointment there's always an issue. Even when you've confirmed by phone or have paperwork detailing what you need you still have to make sure what they are doing is correct and you have to prove that this is what you need because they are never on the same page. When I have my own appointments which has been a few times, I specifically told them that I want to see a specialist but when I actually get to my appointments they tell me that I'm there for a cleaning. What a waste of my time! On another occasion I went my appointment and it was canceled without a call, text or email and they told me that the owner (Doctor Abdulwaheed) can do whatever he wants so he forgot about me so that was another instance of them wasting my time again. That's why this is the most unprofessional dental office that I've been to and they will not be getting my business ever again. I changed dentists for my 2 kids and myself because of the extended and weekend hours thinking it would be more convenient for me to go here with my work schedule. Have not been to this dentist in 2/3 years but just got a bill for $400 with absolutely not information on what it's for. All my dental work was pushed through my insurance before I had it done so not sure how I would owe them money. The kicker is when I called Saugus location where I had my work done they could see the bill but also couldn't see what it was for an told me they'd have billing each out. They never did. I fall the billing department 5 times over the past two months and no one will call me back. read more

I tried with this place, I really did, but the service both front end and by the dentists/staff were less than stellar. First off I feel that the front end staff is condescending and really try to push things on you that you don't need. Now I do admit I need to improve my brushing, but I've had solid teeth all my life, no cavities, little to no issues besides a night guard. I am told multiple times that I need X Rays..for what? If there's nothing wrong in there, what do you need to see? Personally I think its a money game in that regard. So after one round of that awhile ago, I did not get them this time. The dentist himself can be described as young, careless and not well trained. Fairly nice, but more concerned about my recent travels then taking care not to give me too much discomfort. I get it, there will be some, but there doesn't need to be that much! I really did not feel comfortable at all. The assistant was not any better, in addition to pushing the x rays on me, she also was rough even polishing my teeth, practically shoving the tool in there. After this wonderful experience, I quickly paid a balance that was due and told the front end lady I would not be returning. Got nothing more than a tired "sorry about that." The dentist in Marathon Man was much nicer tbh. So yes, I can safely say do not go here. read more

I have to start by saying this review is going to sound a little weird. I feel like I am at home when I go to this dentist office. I normally DESPISE Dentists but this one is A+ they make you feel like family. Not only are they attentive from the front desk staff always calling me day before my appointments to getting an email about my appointment also getting a text message reminding me of the appointment which I use to think was overkill but glad because I would forget to the dentist themselves. The exams the procedures all of it. I have had my yearly cleanings, fillings and even a crown placed same day with this 3D machine AAAMAZING i have never seen anything like it very futuristic. I will recommend anyone that will listen. Thank you for fulfilling my dental needs. Plus being conveniently located in the mall can't beat that. You can go shopping kill two birds with one stone. I went there and got my front tooth fixed, they did an excellent job! The owner worked on my tooth while teaching his students. I thought they were all very caring and understanding about my situation. The staff and front receptionist were very professional and very nice! The owner went out and shook my husband hand. I have been going to them for years and I can never say one bad thing about Lux Dental! 5 stars! read more

I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks ago and when I got to the appointment the workers say that I didn't even schedule it. Ridiculous.

DO NOT GO HERE AND DO NOT TRUST WHAT JORDAN WINGER SAYS. He told me back in 2017 (It's now February 2020) that a mouth guard would be covered by my insurance (MassHealth). Turns out it wasnt because I got a 90 past day bill IN JANUARY 2020 for something I had done THREE YEARS AGO. Mind you I had moved in April 2019 and I just so happened to go back to my old house and what do you know there was a bill for something I had done in 2017 that they're deciding to bill me in 2019/2020. If I hadn't just so happened to go back to my old house, this bill for $308 would've went to collections and screwed me. They ALSO claimed to "tried to have contacted me" even though my email and phone number are the same as they always have been for 10 years. And funny how they had my email on file when they sent me the receipt for when I paid the bill I shouldn't have had to pay for! Super convenient for them! read more

I tried to give no stars, but couldn't. I had an appointment for a cleaning. Was shown into the room, the hygienist opened up the bag of tools from the autoclave, put on my bib and said she'd be right back. After five minutes, I noticed the mirror from among the tools looked dirty. I picked it up and there was a hardened glob of white goo on the mirror and fingerprints and smudges on the backside of the mirror. I waited for the hygienist to return so I could ask that the mirror be replaced. After five more minutes, I examined the remaining tools, which also were dirty. Then, I looked at the counter and noticed how dirty that was, so I got up from the chair and walked out -- 20 minutes after my appointment time. I told the woman at the desk how disgustingly dirty the place was and about the filthy tools that were supposed to go into my mouth. She asked if I wanted a different room! I said no, I wanted my insurance claim for the visit cancelled and said I would not be back! I also will be calling the board of health on Monday. Horrible! read more

If I could leave negative stars I would! This place is robbery and the people are a bunch of incompetent crooks! I was encouraged on more than one routine cleaning visit at this place to fix one of my broken fillings and I finally agreed to fixing it for the amount of $41. I had the filling fixed in July, 2019 and paid the amount of $41 the day of my visit. When I went in for a routine cleaning recently I was told that I owed an additional $179 from my July visit. After speaking to Romina the manager I feel as though Lux Dental in Saugus was not upfront with me about the exact cost of the visit, also they were misleading and didn't even offer me a in-network dentist to fix my filling. Because of Romina and her teams incompetence to not offer me an in-network dentist and quote me an exact quote for my visit I am now billed for an out-of-network dentist visit. Romina agreed her team is not trained properly but could not do anything to help me. ROBBERY! Stay away from this crooked business! read more

Horrible now I'm getting random bills for an appointment I i went to almost 5 years ago in 2015. Despite multiple complaints owner never calls back guess he doesn't care for patients with any complaints. I'm getting a bill for I over 500 despite it being in network. I know it's in network I already checked. Your incompetence in billing is the issue no other dentist I've even been to in my whole life has billed for things 5 years out. Horrible billing practices. Where's the owner missing in action. Many people don't have access to resources I have money not afraid to fight tooth and nail to get fair and equitable treatment. I'm sorry it's almost 5 years you didn't bill it right that's your problem. Owners too busy to call won't reach out bad business practice. Staff once told me he's busy. Well he's too busy for patients the what is he practicing dentistry for. Probably too busy doing photo ops with various politicians and putting them in the lobby to care. I'm still waiting they reviled it again. Even the insurance couldnt figure out the amounts they were billing. We shall see any attempt to put in collections when I don't owe this money will be pursued civilly in coUrt or the attorney generals office. They are in network because they don't like the amouNt they are getting they don't try to hurt my credit score. Complete joke F all the way. I'll keep posted with further update. Finally they received the check and acknowledged it. I've been waiting a while for acknowledgment. The owner himself has still never once reached out to me. I would question how much he honestly cares. Probably thinking more about throwing your bills into collections to care for me. I'm in a situation where I have a descent job and have access to financial resources but many don't and I can imagine how many there might be that couldn't pay and we're told something else about the cost only ultimately to be threatened with collections. While I acknowledge the right to make a profit and function as a business I also acknowledge the limited access to financial resources that others may have and how the owner advertises equal access to dental care just doesn't hold water with the actions that I noticed. Theresa, the receptionist was super lovely and extremely helpful. Helped my husband and I book our appointment, made sure everything with our insurance was good. Everything was going smoothly until we saw Dr. Kanthan. She pretty much treated us like pigs in an assembly line. Was very generic, didn't explain or give a proper diagnosis. Claimed my husband had a cavity, rushed him in to perform a procedure only to collect insurance money. Left the room after the procedure with out saying a word. She didn't give him any follow up information. Horrible bedside manners and very cold. After my cleaning, i asked the receptionist to speak to her, to ask about my diagnosis. She gave us the run around told us she was going on lunch, made us wait for her to finish lunch and then told me there was nothing I can do about my reseeding gums, did not give me advice, or information. Dr. Kanthan didn't seem to care one bit about our dental health. She just wants to do the bare minimum to collect insurance money. This happened January on 2017, I only decided to write this review, because I recently did my own research on reseeding gums and found out there were plenty of options and measures I could have taken to prevent or cure this condition. Thanks to Dr. Kanthan, I am 10 months late in my heeling process, because she literally told me there was nothing I can do. And doing nothing only makes matters worse. If you want quality service and to NOT feel like you've been used and abused, DO NOT go to Lux Dental. read more

Looks can be deceiving. The office is sleek and modern. However, I waited for over 40 minutes (with an appointment). When I asked when my daughter would be seen (try entertaining a child in a waiting room for that long!) I was given no apology or explanation but told they "were getting the room ready right now." Another client came in after us and was seen before us...how is that possible?. No other clients were in the entire office; there were more staff than patients in there. Ten minutes later I simply left. That was inexcusably poor customer service and I will not be going back. I wouldn't be surprised if they now try to bill my dental insurance for the "visit!" If anyone knows of any competent, ethical dentists out there who actually respect your time, please let me know. read more

I am very pleased by everything in this dental office. Here are a few reasons: 1- Very modern. You don't have to go through paper forms anymore. All done by computers. 2- All Equipment are new. 3- The office is bright and decorated very cheerful. Specially this is important for kids. 4- All staff members are super nice and courteous. They treated me as if I was their close friend and I felt very well respected there. 5- They gave a balloon to my son on his first visit and he didn't get scared at all. (My son is 18 months old and second time going to a dental office - first one which was not in Lux dental was not a good experience and he was very scared by the environment) 6- They went over every single detail about my insurance and options I had making me feel very comfortable. 7- Above all, I liked the huge level of honesty they had with me. I switched to their office after I took my son to their office. The previous dentist told me I had to get a filling done. While what Lux dental told me was, I had two options, give it 6 months and it does have a chance to heal or there will be a very low impact filling needed. I hope this review helps whoever is reading it. I totally recommend this office to all my friends and family. read more
