Now I am told the desk person didn't tell me about the payments for the deductible after I spent over $3000 for dental work. Now I am told I have to pay another $75.86 to balance out the deductible for the work that was done over 2 years ago. These people they hired tell false payments and don't tell you the real story about the payment. I have called the billing dept. and I am always on hold for over 1/2 hour. Do not go to this business because they like to screw the hard workers that follow the rules and they find a loophole to get more money from me. I went into Aspen dental for an emergency and care for my dental procedures. I was seen by Dr. Cunningham, assistant Laurie, and hygienist Richard, and then went for a second opinion after an astronomical price for my treatment plan. At the second opinion the dentist broke down for me the excessive treatments they had tagged on most of which I did not need. Aspen also signed me up for a payment plan which they have yet to refund for me after calling credit care who confirmed this is Aspen dental holding my $200 refund up and I am not able to transfer this plan to my current dentist because of this. Aspen is now holding up my treatment and care because I did not want them treating me. They are now messing with my health. I do not recommend anyone to go see these scam artists. My elderly mon needed a root canal. They convinced her that if she got ALL of her teeth out she would never need another root canal again. 10k, 2 years and a ton of pain later her dentures never fit. She did not have the money to start with and their pressure tactics are unbelievable. She could only have soup for years. I came to this Aspen Dental office with a broken tooth and ask them to fix it. They did x-rays, cleaning and gave me a list of necessary work for $17,500. I told them i will think about their recommendation but now I need them to fix a broken tooth. They told me that this tooth can not be fixed but i need in crown which is in a list of necessary work as well. I knew something felt off when the person confirming my appointment said I had to make and pay for 2 separate appointments on 2 separate days because the hygienist "needs time" [DAYS apparently] to review my xrays after looking at my teeth for the first time. Well my insurance paid a portion and after several calls to Aspen with no help I'm still waiting for my refund. If you have a dental emergency or need an actual dentist DO NOT go to this or any other Aspen Dental. I'm not even sure there is an actual "dentist" that works there. They find it more important to push their used car quality dentures before they even begin to address the initial reason I came in being a broken and infected tooth. 2 weeks of appointments only to keep addressing the denture procedure and repeatedly ignoring me asking for the dentist during those appointments and never seeing them. Paid half upfront over $2500 and still have the broken and infected tooth. Will not be returning as I have found a reputable Dentist to do the procedure properly and safely. It is rather funny the amount of calls, emails and texts you receive after canceling an appointment they are anxious to get you back in to get paid. I'm writing regarding a family member who I am advocating for regarding a disheartening experience at the Aspen Dental in Saugus, MA. I recently spoke to a "representative" at Aspen regarding ill fitting dentures she financed $1,500 to pay for. Although X-rays were taken, dentures were made and several adjustments were made...the dentures were unwearable. Aspen then said.." there's nothing we can do. Go get implants". This person is still paying the $1,500 for the dentures that are useless and is not financially able to get implants. Why did they make and charge for dentures that would clearly been seen in X-rays that they won't hold? So now she is unable to eat because these dentures are not wearable. Most disheartening is the cold, condescending women whom I spoke to there. She claimed her name was Nicole ( and would not give a last name). Thru further research... there is no woman named Nicole...so basically they consider a patient's hardship and pain a "joke" ? They're giving fake names and no last name? This is just Shameful. This office should be shut down. It's run by young immature people who look to take advantage of older and financially burdened people. They should be ashamed of themselves with everything going on in this world. Perfect example of being in this line of work for the money and not to help people. I went here back in january to get a filling (bc at the time my insurance wouldn't accept my regular dentist) Laura Cunningham was THE most unprofessional dentist I've ever met in my entire life. She did the filling i was still in pain couldn't chew on that side of my mouth or floss they said wait a few weeks, I waited then 2 months later I went back they said "nothing was wrong but they would fix it" and they re did the filling and i was still in pain couldn't chew or floss still and i've been in pain since. My filling popped out Saturday at my job and I went somewhere else and they told me I needed a root canal BECAUSE of malpractice. Now i'm out $1,500 of my own pocket because they refuse to help. They killed the nerve and when I went back to try to get my money back politely she was very rude and made me cry. Then was laughing and rolling her eyes at me while I was telling her Im a college student and on food stamps, living in my own. I can't afford that. I will be contacting the BBB and taking further actions. This place is absolutely disgusting you couldn't pay me to return. These are just 3 examples of other peoples bad experiences you should check the google reviews as well they mention her name because she honestly has no idea what she's doing. Assured us our wisdom teeth procedure was covered by our insurance. Had the procedure done. Heard nothing for 3 months. Insurance did not cover it. Mailed the $2,000 bill to the incorrect address, never attempted to call / email / follow up and sent the bill to collections hurting our credit. During my last two visits, Jacqui was very polite and patient with me while I was filling out paperwork and asking questions. Also, Rich is one of the best dentists I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Obviously, he did a fantastic job making my teeth feel clean. I grew up never taking the best care of my teeth, but Rich was very understanding. He motivated me to try a little harder with my daily dental routine and to come back every three months for a cleaning. Horrible. They told my husband that he needed all his teeth extracted and dentures put it. Completely upset him and they ran expenses by him in the matter of minutes. What 27 year old needs dentures? Does he have the greatest teeth no, but definitely does not need dentures. Such a rip off and scam. The female dentist doesn't know crap and admitted to us that if she pulled one of his teeth it could break off and be more difficult for her. Is that because she doesn't know how to do her job? Do not go here. I hadn't gone to the dentist for a while because I moved and hadn't found a dentist. I tried aspen dental and they told me that every filling in my mouth needed to be replaced and that my gums needed to be scraped and replanted. This really didn't seem right to me so I went to my former dentist for a second opinion. NONE of this work needed to be done. In preparation to go get the second opinion I went to the office to pick up a copy of my X-rays and chart. They were able to give me a paper copy of all of this but to get my X-rays digitally they needed to submit with corporate offices. I filled out all the paper work and the front office women confirmed my email. It's been over two weeks and I called to follow up because my second opinion dentist still wanted to see the digital. The office is now telling me (after 25+ minutes and still holding) email is not an option and it'll be Cd that was mailed to my house. Another women comes on the line and tells me they are now going to put in a second email request and that the only have to corporate number but no number on who deals with X-rays. This is INSANE and the worst customer service I've ever received. Couple that with the completely unnecessary dental work they wanted to do (I'm guessing it's some sort of insurance money grab), I would never step foot in this place. I heard all the complaints about Aspen Dental, but chalked it all up to people who are just disgruntled in general. When my insurance changed this year and I had to switch dentists, I figured I'd give them a shot. Went in for initial visit and everything was fine. They gave me what I believed to be treatment recommendations, and I half heartedly agreed just so that I could schedule an overdue cleaning. Next day I had second thoughts about jumping right into an expensive part of the treatment plan, especially when perhaps the most effective treatment is something I'd have to do at home anyway, and delaying an expensive procedure 6 months to see how changes at home would improve thing would make no difference. This was not an emergency or anything like that. Well, I called the office 2 days after the initial visit to change my appointment to just a regular cleaning. Shockingly to me, they said I could not just get a regular cleaning, that I either subscribe to the treatment plan or nothing at all. What chafed me is that they were not even willing to discuss the treatment plan, and as a patient I could not even have that discussion about what was necessary and when, or even what makes logical sense. Why jump into an expensive and invasive procedure for something that is by no means an emergency, especially when the most impactful treatment according to the dentist was simply a minor change in habits at home? I disregarded all those other complaints and ignored the red flags, but be warned that at Aspen Dental the patient is not allowed to be a participant in shaping their treatment plan, and they will deny you any basic service if you do not buy into their recommended services at the time of their choosing. read more

I agree with others here. The dentist there (Laura) is not only rude but also not knowledgeable. I went there with what I thought it was a cavity, she took a 2 seconds look and said it was fallen filling and needed a crown $$$$ and left the room without even saying bye. I left the place with an uncomfortable hole and no help. I went right to another dentist office who fixed the whole right away with a filling and told me that if I take care of it it could last one year or two. The hygienist at ASPEN is very nice, however I was given so many things, creams, rinses, and treatments, and few days later it's when the filling came out, I read the directions later and one of the treatments said that I wasn't supposed to bite hard things, he never told me that and when I was eating an almond the filling fell out. I don't think I needed so many treatments and rinses when I jus went for a regular cleaning. Be careful, they want to give you a lot of stuff and you don't even notice it. read more

I needed a last minute appointment for a tooth that was bothering me, figured I'd be going in for a cleaning and an exam. About 5 years ago I was told this toothbwould eventually need a root canal and crown, so I figured that would be the outcome of this visit... Got to their office and was brought in promptly for my appointment, which I saw as a good sign. Was brought in for x-rays and the person doing my X-rays asked me if I was in a rush, I said no and that I expected my appointment would take an hour and she said "yeah, at least..." After my x-rays I was dropped into an exam room, at this point I was told that I wouldn't be getting a cleaning and would only be having an exam and then I could come back for a cleaning (maybe this is normal with chain dentists, but I've never been to a dentist for a first appointment where they didn't do a cleaning and exam)... I was put off by this as I'm a busy working mom and don't have time to make multiple appointments, but whatever, I just went with it... I waited for a while in an exam room and was eventually seen by a hygienist who did an exam. I then waited even longer for a dentist, who re-did the exam... during the dentists exam she made a comment about how I'd likely have "sticker shock" at the end of my appointment because I was going to need lots of work done. I asked what, and she said they'd go over all of that at the end of my appointment... I was then brought to a person who seemed to be a receptionist or some type of admin assistant, who handed me several pages of medical billing codes and told me that in total I needed over $4000 of dental work and told me I needed to schedule something like 15 visits over the next year. When I asked her exactly what all of these visits were for and what type of work I needed, she pointed to ONE medical billing code, explained what it was, and then said I could read the rest of them... but the problem is they really don't explain what's wrong and I'm not a medical billing person, so short of researching what all of the codes mean, I had no way to know what any of it meant. I made an appointment for a cleaning and said I'd have to discuss with my husband for the other visits, since after insurance it was supposedly going to cost me an arm and a leg to get all of this done. In the end I ended up being at their office for TWO hours and didn't get a cleaning and didn't actually know what was wrong with all of my teeth... the fact that a dentist won't even go over the X-ray results and tell me what was actually wrong made me know that I needed a second opinion, so I cancelled the appointment for the cleaning and will never return to this office or any part of the Aspen Dental chain. read more

Over the years, my dentures were so loose, I had to use a ton (a couple of times a day) just to keep them in my mouth!! I decided it was time to get a new pair, but I didn't know where to go to (my lifelong dentist had passed away). They told me my first appointment was complimentary (I had no dental insurance) so I had nothing to lose!! When I went in for my appointment, I was genuinely welcomed by "Chamyra" at the front desk!! She made me feel very comfortable being there!! My visit only got better and better from that point on!! My dental assistant "Keisha" called me in got me ready for my visit with my new dentist. "Keisha" was so very sweet and thorough getting me ready for my first visit with my new dentist, I was feeling very happy when "Dr. Robinson" came over to me and introduced herself to me. Dr. Robinson was unbelievably friendly, caring, and professional (she explained everything that I needed to have done with great care)! She was very knowledgeable about dentures!! She described the different types of dentures and recommended the ones that were best for me and told me that it usually takes 4 visits altogether, but that she could actually begin the 2nd visit right away if I decided to follow her treatment plan. I then sat down with "Chamyra" and looked at the different types of dentures available as well as the cost and guarantee of each of them. She answered all of my questions and concerns sincerely! Although they were more money than I expected, I felt totally confident that "Dr. Robinson" had recommended the perfect set of dentures for me so I decided to go ahead and have her make my new dentures!! "Keisha" took me out back again and was so kind and helpful getting all of the glue off of my gums so I could have new impressions made. "Dr. Robinson" came back smiling and explained what she needed to do as she made my new impressions. Once, she finished, she explained what was going to happen during the next 2 visits, I was very impressed by how much she actually seemed to truly care about my treatment plan!!! During the 3rd office visit, I was once again happy to be there because I felt so welcomed by "Chamyra" when I walked in!! "Keisha" was again so very sweet, she brought me out back and put in the "wax" version of my new dentures. "Dr. Robinson" also came over (with her bubbly personality) to make sure I was happy with the way my new dentures looked. Then, again, on my 4th visit (to pick up my new set of dentures) I was again impressed by how much the staff genuinely seemed to care about me!! Sweet "Keisha" put in my new finished dentures and bubbly "Dr. Robinson" came over to make sure my new dentures looked and fit perfectly!! I was so very happy with the way they looked (like I had just had my teeth cleaned and whitened) and felt that I couldn't wait to see if they really helped me to be able to eat things I hadn't eaten in years!! "Keisha" then gave me samples of products and thoroughly explained how to properly care for my new dentures!! I was truly made to feel like a queen by the staff at Aspen Dental in Saugus!! I just love my new dentures (they look so beautiful and, yes, I can eat anything I want now!) Looking forward to my next visit with "Dr. Robinson" in a year (they are going to professionally clean my dentures for me free of charge each year)!! I moved recently to Malden and chose this place since it was close to my house. Got appnmt within the next 2 days. My wife and I went there. They tried to sell lots of tufa tuff from electric tooth brush to fluoride expensive paste. They insisted on electric brush even though I told I had one. Everything was added to my treatment plan. Indian doc here is more an admin than a doctor. He filled my wife's 2 teeth and it started painting after 2 days. And he is not agreeing about the exposed tooth even after 1week. Now we are looking for another dentist in the area. Oh forgot to mention they charged top rates that insurance cuts them by 30 % all the time.
