I had the Liscio Japanese straightening treatment done on my medium-length coarse, wavy hair. After having had the BioIonic Japanese straightening treatment done 15 years ago, a Brazilian blowout done in '22, & Keratin treatments from '22-24, I decided to go with the Japanese straightening treatment because of the permanency, resistance to humidity, & ease of styling. I literally wash my hair, a quick blow dry & maybe one pass with a flat iron & I'm good for a week. As a mother of a two-year-old, it makes me feel like myself/put together, but does not take time away from my daily routine with my son. I'd rather be spending time with him than standing in front of the mirror running a flat iron through my hair endlessly. I did my research to see who currently offers this treatment here in Richmond. I found three places: Flirt Salon in Cary Town, a salon in the West End that requires a deposit paid at the consultation BEFORE scheduling the actual service (what the heck - they only have one person that does the treatment there, so if that person were to fall ill or get injured on the job, you would've wasted your time and perhaps have to lobby for your deposit back- no thank you!), & then a third place that had very poor reviews. I reached out to Vada, she communicated with me to answer all of my questions and I felt very confident about getting the service done with her. I consider it an investment and wanted to make it worth my while. I have high expectations, I knew exactly what I wanted, and I notice every detail when it comes to my hair. She exceeded my expectations. Vada is not only professional and highly skilled - she's been doing hair for 30 years - but she is also very personable and genuinely cares about her clients. It was a great experience from start to finish. I'm absolutely in love with my hair. Vada is wonderful and I can't recommend her salon enough.

When I arrived, the front desk was very friendly, and my stylist, Savannah, promptly came and got me. Something I was very pleased with is she knew what I had requested in my online booking and was able to speak directly to what I wanted. She asked great clarifying questions and got to work with no delay. I was going from a darker color to a blonde highlight with a shorter haircut/style and she did an amazing job. Definitely recommend the salon and Savannah. there are so many salons available but I haven't found one that was reasonably priced, made me feel welcomed, with a stylist who has a great personality until now. I was attending my best friend's funeral the following day, so she told me not to do anything drastic while I was feeling so emotional. She cut off the ragged ends and did a fabulous job on my bangs. Shortly after my appointment, I noticed multiple serious issues with the installation. There were beads left loose in my hair that were not attached to anything, along with long pieces of string that were never properly secured or trimmed--I had to cut some of these out myself. On top of that, the middle row, which included three wefts, has been completely ruined. Because of this, I will now be forced to purchase entirely new hair if I ever decide to get extensions again. Even more concerning is the damage to my natural hair. I am currently three months postpartum and understand that some hair shedding is normal, but I am experiencing chunks of hair coming out, which I strongly believe is a direct result of improper installation--not postpartum changes. Blaming this entirely on postpartum hair loss is dismissive and ignores the clear errors in the work that was done. When I raised these concerns, they were brushed off. The owner even reached out to me, but offered no real resolution or compensation. After I responded, I never heard back again. The lack of accountability and follow-through is just as unacceptable as the poor quality of the service itself. I had this service done to feel more confident, and instead I am left dealing with damaged hair, ruined extensions, and a significant financial loss from purchasing the hair while i knew going into this it was a training appointment a master stylist should have checked over the work done making sure there was nothing to cause damage. This experience fell far below professional standards, both in workmanship and customer service. I would not recommend this salon to anyone seeking hair extensions.

Every time you enter, you are greeted by smiles from the Front Desk. Everyone is very kind and has a warm personality, the atmosphere is nice and the interior is beautifully decorated. This salon and medspa seems to be the one-stop shop for all sorts of needs from hair, tanning, makeup, manicures/pedicures, etc. The massage chairs while you get your hair washed is top notch. Sara is phenomenal. She takes the time to make sure that you are comfortable, listens carefully to what you want, super accommodating and just always does a great job. Even the advice that she gives, she doesn't overstep and try to take anything over without your approval. The entire experience is a breeze with her.
