It's all true. They arrived late to hand over the RV. The RV was dirty, toilet overflowed, breakers tripped all the time and duct tape holding seats together. Most importantly the vehicle was maintained improperly. Two lug nuts snapped off during the drive on the same axel next to each other. I'm lucky I did a walk around prior to getting on the road. Clearly the wheel was out of spec, lug nuts were chewed up and clearly they were over torqued. Someone could have been injured. A CHP inspection is overdue. read more

Do not to entrust your vacation, or your lives, to these folks. My wife and I rented an RV from Luxe RV for our honeymoon in November 2020, anticipating a luxury RV for a once in a lifetime trip. Hah! Here's a partial list of what went wrong: * The tires were bald. A gas station attendant pointed this out to us the day after driving to the Grand Canyon. * The day I picked up the RV from Luxe's lot, a break warning light came on as I drove away. I immediately pulled over and phoned Luxe RV. They explained to me that the break warning light first appears thousands of miles before the breaks become unsafe, and he told me how to turn off the warning light. The explanation sounded plausible, and didn't occur to me that someone at Luxe RV might give me bad advice about something as critical as the vehicle's breaks. Wrong! When we replaced the bald tires, we also discovered that two of the break pads were down to 5%. The other two had 10% left. Given our planned itinerary, through Zion National Park and the Wasatch mountain range, we were extremely fortunate to find this out when we did. * When we contacted Luxe RV to inform them of the bald tires and bad breaks, they showed no concern for our safety. They were unapologetic about the time we had to spend off the road. And they refused to cover the cost of the new tires and break pads. They claimed we had been conned by the local gas station. Even when we brought in AAA to confirm the defects, Luxe RV refused to reimburse us. Rather than allowing it to ruin our honeymoon, we paid for new pads and new tires. We had to spend two nights an RV park in southeast Utah, waiting for new break pads. Shout out to the wonderful people at the New Harmony, Utah, service station. If it weren't for them, God knows what might have happened. * The heating system in the RV didn't work. We found this out the third night of our trip, when the temperature dropped to 17 degrees. * One of the windshield wipers didn't work, either. * The retractable steps stopped retracting. * The meter on the black water tank was unreliable. This is a very bad thing in an RV, by the way. * When we showered, a water line leaked into the main cabin. * One of the kitchen drawers fell apart. * The latch on the fridge door was defective. We learned this when we took a curve on the road in northeast Washington, and heard the sound of a dozen eggs flying across the cabin. Actually, we heard the sound of a dozen eggs splatting... Nearly every day brought a new problem, and RV's customer support was pitiful. Eventually we decided it wasn't safe to drive the last 1000 miles of our journey. We parked the vehicle in a safe lot near Bainbridge Island, and informed Luxe RV they would need to retrieve their vehicle. We then rented an SUV, and piled our baleful German Shepherd and as much of our stuff as possible into it, and drove home in cramped safety. The good news is that we managed to have a loving honeymoon in spite of Luxe RV, but I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what we did. I'm writing this review more than two years after the fact. At the time, I just wanted to put the unpleasantness of dealing with Luxe RV behind me. I booked a Mercedes View RV for my vacation. I saw the reviews and looked fine. I applied the on line and received an online confirmation on line. I was told to sign the rental agreement. Today days before my vacation i got an email from sales@luxerental.com " Dear patron, Thank you for choosing Luxe RV...Unfortunately we dont have the exact RV you requested. We might have a Mercedes Prism RV Model available. Or maybe if your dates are flexible we can look into a view. Please advise if an alternative works for you! Sincerely Luxe RV team" I called and spoke to representative (male) who asked me if i changed my dates they could give me the Mercedes. I adjusted my dates and he told me that RV was available for my dates. ALL I NEEDED TO DO WAS EMAIL BACK sales@luxerental.com, which i did with the new dates. As i waited for a reply i called back the toll-free number 888 600-0793. I spoke to a new representative (male) and explained what the 1st representative told me. This person was rude and told me that i should look somewhere else for an RV (the telephone message was recorded per the call). He then hung up on me. I IMMEDIATELY called the number back and spoke to a female and explained what had just happen which she apologized. She told me that the dates the 1st representative they did not have those dates and she did not know why he gave me the dates. I told her i had paid on line which she told me she would make a note and i would not be charged. She also told me that i would need to change my dates to rent the RV or check with another RV company. Luxe RV is truly "the Fyre Festival of the RV rental market", so don't be seduced by their slick website. We rented one of their Unity models for a 3-week tour of California in March and knew we were in trouble from Day 1. First, the driver showed up over 4 hours late (causing us to miss our first night's reservation). Worse yet, the vehicle was filthy inside and out -the exterior was completely covered in a mucky film and the interior was dirty throughout - hair and dirt inside shower, drawers and on floors - and to top it off the sewage hose had human excrement remains visible when you opened the side panel. The driver who delivered the RV to us acknowledged that the vehicle hadn't been cleaned "due to lack of time" and agreed that the hose was disgusting and vehicle needed deep cleaning. We sent photos to them, and Luxe RV promised to send a crew to clean but never did - so after waiting 4 days for them to deliver, we had to take care of the cleaning ourselves, further delaying our trip. The worst part, however, is that this company is highly unscrupulous in how they charge. They offered us a 10% long-term rental discount, which was noted in both our contract and in our invoice - but the final charges did not reflect this discount (worth almost $800), and over 6 months later we still haven't received a credit. It also took them over 6 months to refund the hefty deposit that they collected upfront. In addition they imposed extortionate supplemental fees at pick up that were not disclosed at the time of rental. Only after we started our rental did we discover that other renters have had similar experiences and have filed complaints with BBB and others about this company's conduct and abysmal service. Absolutely DO NOT RENT from this company! Unfortunately, we had to as they were the only company doing one way trips and we had to move for work but they are TERRIBLE in every way. We rented the RV on a one way Trip for just short of 9000 dollars, coast to coast. We go the RV and were told propane and all fluids were good.... yet Generator died before we even got out of California, so we went the rest of the states to Florida with no generator or AC in back of cab. Tried to call service for a day and no one answered. Go my security deposit refund and they charged me for miles from CA to Florida and stated they were not included in the cost we paid for to rent the RV, even though the receipt says approximate mileage use. Absolute scam company, learn from my mistakes and don't use them. I'd hitchhike with my baby across country before using this crap again. read more

Beware, these RV's are not safe. Our front wheel almost fell off on day 3 or our trip up the coast. Wheel lug nuts were literally falling off. This has to be the worst place to rent an RV! Why didn't I pay attention to previous reviews: First, the RV came hours late and it was filthy: hairs, dirty shelves, bath, counters, etc. Then, I started to notice many many issues: defective valves so black water leaked every time dropping solid waste, serious bio-hazard! Wiper blades were so bad that I had to drive without them in heavy rain. While driving, I got a red light warning that I had to deal with. This are just a few, there were more issues. Now to the more serious issue, when I returned the RV, the delivery driver saw all those maintenance problems and told me that I should call the office to let them know. When I did, I spoke to someone who literally told me: "you people make me sick" Then came the obscenities and insults. I can not tell you his name, because when I asked the response was "My name is F...k you" I consider this serious and I will file a formal complaint, things have to change. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! I wish I had read reviews before renting an RV with Luxe RV. I just saw their glossy website and thought the RV would actually look like the pictures. We were wrong! Total SCAM. 1. Pick up: They didn't know where my car was or where I should pick up the car. They had us waiting around Fremont for call back and then the car came to us late even though we paid for early pick up. While we waited it was IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of anyone. Their early office hours and emergency number is for show only. 2. Filthy: The car came to us absolutely filthy (and this is COVID times), must definitely be a health violation. The floors, car, dusty, dirt and sand everywhere, the refrigerator had gross stains everywhere. Basically they brought it from whoever used it to us without cleaning it at all (see pictures of me trying to clean it). 3. Broken: So many things in the car was broke. Most importantly the bed that's supposed to open up had a whole wooden panel (basically a quarter of the bed) broken off with nails everywhere. The side brake handle was duct taped into place. The drawer was broken, side mirrors were cracked, etc. etc. The car was an old run down piece of junk. They told the driver to go to a hardware store and buy some nails and try to fix it. Not ok considering this company costs twice what other RV rentals cost. We asked for a different RV because we felt this one not safe to drive and they didn't have one. At which point we cancelled our rental. 4. Refund/Customer Service: Horrible. I am still corresponding with them to get my refund back. They stopped responding all together. I'm having my credit card company deal with it. That's the best way to get your money back. Stay clear of this company, never been scammed like this before! read more

I've never written a yelp review before, but my experience with LuxRV was one of the worst I've ever encountered and I feel like its my civic duty to warn others not to work with these people. Whether it was the condition of the RV when I got it, trying to get help trying to use it, or support when things went wrong, LuxRV was either nowhere to be found or rude as if they were being bothered. It may look nice on the website, but don't be fooled. You're doing yourself a favor to pass this one up and look for another company. It must be one of the biggest inside jokes among people that work at the company that it's called LuxRV because it is about as luxurious as a prison cell at Pelican Bay Penitentiary. I could not be happier. My daughter always wanted to hang out at the beach. I personally don't like making special trips to the beach, especially knowing how my daughter is. I decided to rent an RV from LuxeRv and I could not be happier with what i got. I called LuxeRv and I needed a Spanish speaker, and LuxeRV happen to have a Latino male there who provided me such great customer service. He helped me choose the right RV and the right amenities so that me and my daughter can have a wonderful time. When I picked up the RV the same Gentleman that helped me choose the RV showed me how to use it. Did a walk-through and explained everything to me. How to turn on the generator, how to get the power on and how to properly fill and dump the tanks. It was comforting knowing that i was not going to leave until LuxeRv knew i was comfortable and confident enough to leave on my own. after all that was done, we took the Rv to the beach, and it was the best time ever. Once my daughter got tired of the beach, like i knew she would, we went inside the RV, and we cooked, we laid in bed, and we showered. It was a moment I will never forget. my daughter was so happy and that was so great for me. LuxeRv, provided me with a great product, with amazing explanation, and when i did have issues, they provided me with a customer service number and all my issues were resolved. If you are looking for a fun filled weekend you have to get this RV. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I rented a sprinter for an over-the-road family vacation. I should have known the first sign of concern was that they would not accept a major credit card for payment, only a debit card. I have never heard of a vehicle rental company ONLY wanting a debit card. Clearly, it's so you have a harder time disputing the charge when things go wrong. 2nd issue, the camper's dash gave an emergency indicator to add D.E.F (diesel exhaust fuel) IMMEDIATELY. In all of my years of renting, I have never had to go under the hood of a rental. When the DEF was added, the hood would not retract, and you could clearly see that the hood had been repaired several times over for the latch being bent and not retracting. After texting back and forth with the company, we were told that the hood damage was our fault. 3rd the camper was giving off an odor of rotten eggs, a sulfur like smell that was so strong is caused my entire group to have headaches. The rep asked me to take the vehicle to a mechanic, "Wait, you want me to take your vehicle to a mechanic while I'm on vacation?" When I refused, they contacted a mechanic who met me the next day. The mechanic clearly noted the vehicle was rented in poor condition. The issue with the hood was a repeated issue. We soon found out that the smell was the acid leaking from the dead batteries. The company refused to pay the mechanic and approving the work and insisted that I pay. The mechanic, disagreed as he knew the issues belonged to the company. Upon returning the vehicle, the "Manager" refused to speak to me, never confirmed his name, after making wait around for over an hour, secretly tried to put in a false claim with my insurance company, AND did not return my $2K deposit. Not to mention, we loss money for an event we were unable to attend due to having to meet with the mechaning. There was nothing Luxury about the vehicle or the company. Luxe RV provided an amazing experience. I was able to take the family on a roadtrip to Oregon to catch totality under the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017. I reserved my RV online with a few weeks to go before the event. Unfortunately, about a week later I found out there was actually no availability due to the Solar Eclipse and Burning Man. Luckily, I got a call on Friday, right before my original rental date, as an RV had become available! It was so convenient to get everything booked, insurance information shared, etc, over email. The RV was delivered to me in person in Redwood City the next afternoon. I got a tour as it was my first time in an RV. The driver side mirror was broken, and repairing it would have required me to drive south to a service center, which would not have allowed us to meet our timetable, so I had to make do with almost no visibility on that side. We set out for Oregon that night, and had my first RV park experience in Redding a few hours later. The RV was easy to drive, did not burn too much diesel, and it was so comfortable! My family loved it. The RV drew tons of eyes when we got to the eclipse campsite. Very convenient, considering we have a little toddler with us, the RV was better than a tent! We drove back and had to hold on to the RV for an extra day. A small billing issue was addressed right away after a quick email, no hassle. I'd definitely use Luxe RV again! read more

While this company was helpful in adjusting my reservation when a medical emergency emerged do NOT ever do business with them ever or at your own risk. I tried to rent from them because, per the website, the RV's looked top-drawer and very nice...worth the expense. Wrong!! They delivered an RV late the day ordered. On delivery the refrigerator did not work, there was no shelving in it, the auxiliary batteries had been damaged and the windshield was cracked. The exterior had multiple dents, scratches, and broken storage compartment locks. The vehicle had been taken to Burning Man and damaged by the previous renters. The vehicle was unusable as delivered and promised by rental contract. The delivery man (very nice)took the vehicle back to Calabassas and tried to get it fixed but was unable for several days. Consequently all our National Park/Forest site reservations were not usable, plans to meet family, and so forth were trashed...not to mention lost vacation days. The entire trip was toast! Because this was caused by the unacceptable RV they tried to deliver I had to cancel and asked for all fees (reservation and security deposits) to be returned. They are refusing. They do not answer phone calls or text messages. Emails are erratically answered but signed by no more than a first name if that. They do not make management available or tell you where their office is. It's not my fault their renters took the RV to Burning Man and trashed it. It's their responsibility to deliver a fully operational vehicle. Their lack of response, responsibility, and horrible communication are inexcusable. Having seen other YELP postings I wonder how they stay in business. Do NOT do any business with them. I have now retained an attorney to deal with this. Caveat emptor! read more

If i could give it a 0 i would. This company has NUMEROUS lawsuits for fraud, breach of contract, and in small claims court and BBB disputes. I wish i had done better research before renting and wasting thousands and hours of my time for this horrendous company . They had the wrong pickup location on my paperwork after telling them numerous times via the phone and e-mail and from the forms i completed. Brought the rv a day late and they didn't even tell us it would be late!! We stood in the 105 degree heat for 1.5 hours before they even told us !! It came at 1am and sat there for 3 more hours . It came empty without gas, dirty, everything in it including the filthy dirt, and broken door, cracks on things, it was a disgrace, and the whole rv flooded. They had to find Generator not functioning and called numerous times for help. Awning broke immediately upon opening and they accused it of being our fault. It was not driveable due to this. This company has NUMEROUS BBB reviews and i don't know how there isn't a class action lawsuit on them. Do not rent from them. Far from Luxury or functional! I feel the need to warn people against using this RV company. Driving their vehicle felt unsafe and unsanitary. We rented a Serenity Leisure RV and it was a disaster. It was dirty. It stunk of old cigarette smoke. There was an old dog bone under the bed. The gas tank was almost empty when they dropped it off. The fresh water tank was totally empty. The driver's seat didn't have any upholstery on the arm rest- it looked as if it had ripped off decades earlier. The shower had a leak. We broke down three times! When we called their emergency number for help nobody called us back. When we reached out to the other number they listed in our agreement for emergency repairs, the company said they had no affiliation with Luxe RV. The following day, we finally reached Luxe RV and they directed us to a repair shop 47 miles away that would "reset our codes" for us. When we arrived to the shop they sent us away and said they couldn't help us. We had to laugh when the windshield wiper broke off during a light rain- because of course it did. The website fooled us into thinking we would be driving a quality RV, but it was an old hunk of junk with incompetent customer service. Stay safe out there! Rent from another company! read more

We have rented the Serenity Leisure RV from Luxe for the Burning Man event from end of August until beginning of September. The rental process was supportive and communication through Whatsapp and email as directly by phone helpful. As it was my first RV rental I was happy to rent with Luxe RV. The RV was even delivered to the hotel and picked up there what made our trip a lot easier. Makayla and Adrien did everything to support us. Next time we will surely rent again with them, specially now we are more experienced. And now we also know that we need a second external generator for this RV if staying without any electrical or gas supply in the desert for more than 3 days. We rented an RV from LuxeRV thinking it would be a more comfortable RV experience. Our RV was not adequately maintained: side door stuck, mosqioto door was broken, vent over stove didn't work, bathroom door didn't close, toilet plugged easily, small water tanks, window blind broken and no levelling blocks were provided. The RV was dropped off in a timely manner, but they were a few hours late picking it up. It was a good RV, its a pity the company does not take better care of their vehicles. read more

I urge you to reconsider before renting from Luxe. They delivered the vehicle late, it had not been cleaned properly and was not prepared as promised. There were multiple problems with warning lights because it had not been properly serviced. We had to interrupt our vacation numerous times because of mechanical issues and warnings. Luxe had little to no empathy and customer support was either poor or non responsive. They refused to compensate us properly for their poor service and our loss of time. The dirt and stains in the pics are exact same and you had the same problems with it so they were aware of everything and still rented it! I had the worst experience with these guys from start to finish. They over charged me and told me it was a mistake and I would get it back but never did, I warned them over the last 2 weeks I will be suing them and they should pay me back but they are not responding to emails or phone calls, they gave me a vehicle that was not road worthy and filthy, I could go on but my lawyer has told me not to post too much about this until we are done suing them and then I will share the pics, videos, texts with them, etc. Please do yourself a favor and go to any other RV rental facility, I usually do but goofed this time and went with these guys. I just want to warn everyone...stay away from these guys..the vehicles should not be on the road. But BE WARY - the prices go up dramatically once you make a reservation, and there are indeed hidden fees.
