Whatever you do, don't rent from here absolute rental place from hell. And when you bring it back and tell them all the issues you had, they will try to charge your insurance. And when you try to call and talk to them about the situation, they will hang up on you and not answer your calls, And the very ignorant lady in the office will sit there and try to talk over you the entire time. We should've known from the get-go because of how the rental started already the AC and the generator were not working so they sent my mom to the shop with the RV and had her sit there for several hours while they fixed it. We left on our trip and packed our food for our camping voyage and lo and behold we get there and the refrigerator has completely stopped working and our food has gone bad. We received the rental right after someone else and they did not dump the sewage and it backed up into the trailer. We also had no luck with taking a shower because the shower started flooding out out of the bottom The trailer into the storage area, where it completely soaked all of our things that we had stored. Forget trying to use the awning wouldn't even go out a quarter of the way. And when you return it and tell them about all these issues, they will tell you nothing about discounts or how sorry they were or anything. They will just charge you for running the generator longer because on the form it says you need to run the generator to get the battery charged enough to run the refrigerator so that that's what we tried to do And apparently, we ran the generator too long because they charged us for extra hours . Never ever ever rent from this place zero Customer Service. They just want people to rent from them so they can get their trailers fixed through other people's insurance. Would never recommend them to anyone . There were no broken pieces inside of the RV when returned so that doesn't make any sense. The actual Renter is my mother and my stepfather who I accompanied on this trip. And yes, things got heated on the phone call when I kept trying to speak and was being spoken over. When trying to voice my concerns and feelings they would just talk louder . Still zero accountability for all of the problems that we had with the RV. read more

Family RV delivered and set up a camping trailer for us at the track at Laguna Seca Raceway for the IndyCar season finale race. It was so nice and convenient! We arrived Thursday afternoon and everything was set up with the water tank full and plugged into electrical service. The trailer was spacious with a nice dining pop-out. We brought food and beverages and it was nice to rest and eat in our own air-conditioned space. It definitely felt like a VIP experience and they were great to work with. I checked their website July 22 and saw 3 RV's that I was interested to purchase for my husband's upcoming birthday. We went there on the same day to check it out. Alex offered his assistance but when I showed him screenshots of the RV's, he informed me that he can't show it to me since they are all being rented out and will not sell them until Spet or Oct. I told him that if that was the case why did they even posted it on their website up for sale and he replied that it was their marketing manager's idea to post it. I then asked him if I can see what they have in their lot. He showed me few within our price range and based on what my preference was. We were interested on few then narrowed it down to 2. We told him that we will come back and think things through and he insisted for us to put 1K refundable deposit to hold the RV's. He asked to zelle it to his boss since they dont have a credit card machine to process transaction. We complied. The next morning (July 23), my husband sent Alex a text saying we will hold off on purchasing the RV since I will be out of the country, and we are expecting to get our 1k back. July 27, Alex responded asking if we made the deposit through our business account and my husband said yes. July 28, Alex text again asking which RV do we want to purchase. Is he losing his mind? I responded that we've been asking to get our deposit back since July 23, and again July 27 per the texts. He was playing dumb and text back saying "you notified me about what?". Aug 1, I text him to follow up on refund and he responded that I never asked him for a refund and if I did to show him proof. So I sent him screenshots of all the texts. He also said that he called me few times and no answer. I then sent him screenshots of my call log, his missed calls and few minutes later of mine calling him back few time. He said he will mail the check on Monday, Aug 3, when he go in the office and he asked for our mailing address. I gave our address to him and told him to update us on Monday. Aug 3, he text stating check is being mailed today and I want to confirm if it is made payable to our business and he said yes. Aug 7, our mail man already delivered our mail and still no check. I called Family RV 3 times, receptionist answered and transferred my call to Alex twice and both times after few seconds being transferred I got disconnected. The third time, Alex answered, I started asking about the status of refund when he rudely interrupted me stating that he can barely hear me. I started talking again, asking about the refund and informing him that he assured me that check was mailed Monday and it's akready Friday and still no sign of it. He then said to call them back if I don't receive it in 14 days. 14 days? Their location is only half an hour drive and I doubt it takes 14 days for post office to sort and have it delivered. I asked if they can put a stop payment and have it re-issued and I will personally pick up the check and he quickly replied that he can't do that. I will wait for few more days to get our refund before taking the next step. His customer service was so great when trying to sell but when issue arises it dropped down to worst customer service. He isn't consistent with how he provide customer service. With this kind of attitude, he shouldn't be in this kind of field where he has to be out dealing with customers. If someone decide to visit this business, keep what we experienced in mind and DO NOT put a deposit, and hopefully Alex isn't the one who will be helping you. Definitely will not be buying nor will recommend this business to my family and friends. read more

Their reply is absolutely false. and the comment reply is also not true, I'm not sure what is going on with this company, but there is a disconnect between the office people and the shop. The office folks continue to try and skew and bend the truth. Side maker lights work was never approved or requested which is documented in email. Damage happened twice on my rig at this shop. Once was covered and fixed, the second damage occurrence, they are denying responsibility. I also paid for all this work far in advance of it being done, in full, which was my mistake, clearly. We are now in small claims court unfortunately due to the company's inability to stand up and do what's right. I think this all started due to the employee we started with Ron who is no longer working there. Originally contacted Family RV to make a 7pin pig tail for our Lance truck camper. That pig tail wasn't done right or something happened to it, intermitent issues with turn signals and brake lights. Decided to take the entire rig in for service to get a new furnace and some electrical work done. New furnace is great, they did work I did not ask for or approve and charged me for it. The rig also was damaged while in their care, exterior was hit and punctured a pretty good hole in the front of the camper. They provided us with a free rental since we had planned to use our RV. That rental's slide out stopped operating at the RV park... They couldn't find the short for the electrical work I asked for... Short story 5800 dollars, a new furnace, repaired damage caused at their shop, the same short, and a new pig tail. We are now in small claims court to get some of the money back for the work that I didn't ask to be done and electrical work that was never identified or fixed. We purchased a pre-owned 20" travel trailer from Family RV and could not have hoped for a better experience. Everyone at Family RV is low-key, friendly, and knowledgable. On our first visit we met April, who gave us plenty of space to look around without bothering us. When we were ready, she walked around with us, showing us options that met our criteria, and patiently answered all our questions. We weren't ready to buy, and when we communicated that, she understood. A couple of weeks later, after thinking through the different choices, we came back. April was by then on maternity leave, so we worked with Briana, who was equally friendly, knowledgable, and low-key. The transaction was smooth and painless. No last minute charges, no pressure to buy extended warranty (though one was available if we wanted it). We arranged for financing with our credit union, and that was fine, too (no pressure to take financing through the dealer). On the day we arrived for pick-up, they had cleaned and prepped the trailer, and Luis gave us a thorough walk through, making sure we understood how everything worked, from the smart hitch to the a/c to the slide-out & etc. We had been to another, big RV dealership months earlier, and were so traumatized by the high pressure sales tactics and endless (endless!!!) "follow-up" phone calls that we were paranoid about shopping again, but we had heard good things about Family RV, so we took a chance. Glad we did! We rented a 30' Travel Trailer form Family RV for a 3,000 mile trip to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. From Start to finish, the process was seamless. My wife and I and a couple friends rented one of their RV's this past weekend, and we had a great overall experience. The RV was clean, everything worked, and it drove well. I'm giving 5 stars because of the above, and because of way they handled a few small issues that came up before we picked up and after we returned the RV. 1. Their website allowed us to book a Sunday return, but two days after booking online we were notified that they are closed Sundays specifically for rental returns. I explained that we are unable to return on Monday which is why we booked a Sunday return on their website. They understood and agreed to let us return on Sunday within a specific window of time. 2. We received a call the day after we returned the RV that the remote for one of the TV's was missing. This was a mystery to us because we didn't touch or use the TV's the whole weekend. After calmly explaining our side of the story they agreed to waive the fee for the missing remote. Great! I'm a big believer in the idea that as long as you treat people like you want to be treated, you will get positive results 9/10 times, and that's exactly what happened here. Despite this not being an absolute "perfect" experience we will definitely be renting from Family RV for our next adventure. read more

We rented a Thor Quantum 2021, Class C. It was wonderful, new and clean. Tips: - Make sure to check with your car insurance carrier to see if your auto policy will cover the RV rental. - Make sure to ask Dave as to how to make the RV go on lower gears to go up hills. Since our RV was new and had different electronics, it was difficult to figure out. - Pay the extra $250 for trip cancellation insurance. I had a real emergent need to get service a couple of days ago as my toilet was leaking like a waterfall. I live in Hawaii and use my aging Class A Winnebago as often as I can. We bought a Lance travel trailer from a company that was recently purchased by a large RV company, so we need to find a Lance Dealer that could service our vehicle under warranty (One Year). When I called Family RV they said they didn't have any availability to help us. I asked, if they had any availability down the road and they said no.. So what that tells me is that they don't want to do any warranty work even though they are a Lance Dealer. They lost any potential business that we might give them down the road. BE CAREFUL! My husband and I rented a Class A RV for the weekend. The rental procedure was very nice at the beginning they sent us a50 minute video explaining the use of the car. We took very good care for the RV throughout the whole weekend We were charged 1600 dollars for the weekend With a 3500 Deposit. When we returned the car this morning they inspected the RV and found a small punch dot on the awning blaming us that we were the first ones to ever use the RV. They didn't release the deposit saying they need to get an estimate for fixing the damage (see attached photos for "damage") we didn't make any unresonable use of the RV. As I mentioned we took very good care of it and returned it spotless. This is something that could of happened from a birds beak. After trying to understand from them why the deposit is not being released we spoke with Dave on the phone he had a very bad attitude with us and it is the worst customer service I ever recieved. We were planning to rent with them a couple of times this year since we were really pleased with the RV itself. As speaking to Dave on the phone he sent me an invoice of 600$!!!! For the repair of this "Damage". Honestly this is taking advantage of a very good customer and looking for reasons to charge more money. Feels like a scam after we took very good care of the RV while being on the road. The answer I received from his is that we signed when taking the RV that there is no damage to the RV. I asked him if he was expecting me to open the awning and sea with a magnifier for a small dot. then he HUNG UP THE CALL IN MY FACE. Yes, we paid for damage that was not our fault. And the owner is accusing me of being dishonest. Of all the times we have had poor service etc, this is the only business that I have ever decided to yelp. We were excellent repeating customers. So buyer/renter beware of the liability of renting even a new RV from this place. For a 17-day rental we paid $4700, $1200 in extra mileage, $1100 for damage that was our fault, and we paid $3500 for damage that was in no way our fault. So I write this review so people can be aware of how much it can cost to rent an RV with a defective awning that is truly not meant to drive 4,000 miles. We paid extra for those miles and the awning should not have just fallen off from the backside. read more

TLDR: Avoid Family RV if you can! They do not maintain their vehicles properly and completely ruined our vacation. Especially when you go on a long trip, rent a RV from a chain so that you can get proper customer support! We left on Saturday 10/17/20. For the first couple of hours the drive was fine as the roads were flat, and my husband was driving relatively slowly while he was gradually getting used to this big vehicle. He commented a couple of times about how unresponsive the vehicle was to gain speed. When we got to Death Valley, we started to notice there was really something wrong w/ the engine - as the vehicle was climbing a long uphill road, we continued to lose speed. At one point we were going around 20 mph with the gas pedal floored. My husband had to constantly pull off the road to let other vehicles pass on this narrow road around 9 pm. He tried to restart the engine many times and the issue did not go away. We finally made it to the camp with enough patience. Death Valley was our stop-point and we were going to come back towards the end of the trip, we hoped the engine would somehow be fine after one night but it did not. We had to keep going and be on the road like an idiot. Given it was Sunday, nobody picked up the phone from the office, and neither we had any luck with the "after-hour support" number they left us with. We used the Mercedes in-cabin emergency button and mechanical support button. A lady and a gentleman on the line told us respectively they could send police officers and an ambulance if we somehow ended up in an accident, and the best suggestion for us is to take it to the nearest Mercedes dealership but nothing would open before Monday. We obviously could not wait outside a dealership, and we decided to try our luck and move on. There were a couple of times we had to use the truck crawler lanes, driving around 30 mph with 75 mph speed limit on a highway - seriously folks were driving way faster and even semi-trucks kept passing us. Again we made it to Zion, but we ended up spending 7 hours instead of 4.5 hours if we had a functioning vehicle. We sent an email on Sunday (10/18/20) night to the office with video recordings which showed the issue, but past Monday (10/19/20) noon when we checked nobody ever replied or even acknowledged. So we called while heading to our next destination Page, and we were advised to take the vehicle to a local dealership because we were far away, and they would "waive the rental cost for the days when the vehicle sits in the shop". To be honest, we have been sitting at home all day for a long time, and it was not easy to get the vacation time aligned from work, get the kid to skip classes, get out, and travel in a safe manner. We never expected to get this kind of experience, and not to mention a request to spend our limited vacation days, as a family, to fix the vehicle for a business which gets no time to fix its own vehicle because all the vehicles, I assume, needed to be rented out all the time to maximize the revenue. Before the phone conversation, we would think at least they would offer nicely a discount on our rent to compensate for our time and poor experience, but it was clear that would be the last thing they care about. The next few days were somewhat better because Page itself was relatively flat, and on the way back to Death Valley was also mostly downhill. However on the last day of our trip, my husband spent more than 12 hours driving the RV back while it was supposed to take 7 hours, and I don't remember how many times exactly we had to pull over the road to let others pass. Now we completely have PTSD from this RV trip. After we returned the vehicle, a gentleman reached out with the goal to investigate the check-engine light issue. He was suggesting "there might be a possibility" that we damaged the vehicle by not putting DEF fluid in the vehicle on time. My husband also added the DEF whenever possible. As a matter of fact we used to own a MB ML350 Bluetec and we are no strangers to DEF and know what it exactly does. My husband asked the gentleman to check back with the technician who did the walkthrough with us, but the answer we got was they (Family RV) "do not know where the technician is and he might not come back". No offense but that was a very convenient and confusing comment! Luckily my husband is always organized and keeps paper trails of everything. After he sent Family RV a dated picture (Thursday 10/16/20) taken during the checkout to show the check-engine light, they stopped the whole conversation. We are lucky to work for companies with legal consultation coverage w/ a small fee, and we are looking into if it is even legally ok to rent a vehicle out with check-engine light on to customers, especially after the customers flag it.
