I was a little apprehensive about how it would be to live onboard and drive such a big vehicle but Conrad and Derek armed us with all the information we needed and the Free Spirit was surprisingly easy to drive. We loved it and so did our dog, who we really appreciated being able to bring with us. The RV has everything you need already on board so we traveled light and didnt feel like we missed anything. I esp love this model because it has a screen door, so we were able to sleep with it open every night but not be attacked by mosquitos. He will even go over how to pack and what to expect. He honestly cares about the user experience. A good example of this was when we broke the Induction Range top and not only did he immediately reassure us it was an easy fix, when we returned it he we were only charged for the part as he was able to easily replace it himself. The RV seems to be always booked however Rudy keeps it clean and in perfect condition. In addition before and during our trip he is always available and incredibly responsive. We were pleasantly surprised that everything advertised in his website was delivered. I'd like to be clear that this review is for Rudy, the company owner, as the RV speaks for itself in the website pictures. I cannot stress enough how hands on he is in making your trip the best it can be. We not only would recommend Trail MX, my wife and I are now planning another trip with them.

I traveled on my own so it was important for me to find something affordable, comfortable to drive and I would feel secure sleeping in. VanVenture checked off all those boxes and more! There check in was great, the staff wore their masks and kept at a comfortable distance while explaining to me where I could find everything that I would need. They also showed me how to use the heated mattress pad which came in handy during these cold winter nights. Driving the van along the curvy coastline was a breeze. The best part, I think, is that there is no cleaning fee if you bring it to the carwash and vacuumed before returning! Returning the van was also nice because the staff were so friendly and asked about my trip. I am excited for the warmer weather and I will be planning a trip ahead of time to secure my adventures.

I tried to work with the owner to rectify some incorrect charges and I was accused of having a learning disability. SMGDH The story goes like this: I recently booked a trip with Trekker Vans and it was, by far and away, the worst vehicle rental experience I have ever had. I returned the van in a perfectly fine condition (see attached photos), and with a full tank of gas, but was charged $100 in cleaning fees and fuel. The rental agreement stipulates that the van not be returned "excessively dirty" which I later realized was code for "Trekker Vans wants you to return it spotless, and will nickel and time you at their discretion." The gas tank was also full when I dropped it off, so I really have no idea where the fuel charge came from. I tried working with Nate to find an amicable solution but that simply did not work. He was myopically focused on proving his point versus hearing me out. I ultimately had to end the conversation when he accused me of having a learning disability. At that point, I realized there was no hope of being treated with any form of respect. If you want to be ripped off, talked down to, and insulted then go with Trekker Vans. Otherwise, go literally anywhere else.

Yet just two days before my trip, disaster struck. I got a call from the owner, apparently he needed the van after being invited on a "last minutes fishing trip with the boys in Vegas." I don't know what that means but it disadvantaged us significantly for our trip. We could only fit one cooler and had to sleep in the car. In previous trips, he insisted we bring his kids with us as he would be "unavailable" and he said if we wanted our deposit back (which we never paid) we had to bring his kids with us as his trip would be "unsuitable." We had no room and had to cram them in the roof box which resulted in a visit to the emergency room (which we had to pay for). I hate to say bad things about small businesses but this was like those prank toys my older siblings would use where they attached a dollar to a string and kept pulling it away from me. We likely will rent again but we will be sure to read the fine print next time. We hope the owner reels in some big whales in Vegas.

I went with a Toyota Corolla, which I drive personally. I like to stick with something I'm used to. It was about $250 for four days. I arrived right on schedule and the car was waiting for me. The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. He walked me through everything I needed to know, even the details on tolls and stuff. The car was about two blocks from their office, but they explained how to get to it and even had a print out of a map to help get me there. It also had pictures so there was no way I was going to miss it. The car was a 2021 and in great condition and had a full tank of gas. Another positive of getting a Toyota is the gas mileage. I went to Sonora and back (roughly 275 miles) and I only had to refill once before I dropped it off... which was also super easy. I simply dropped it off where I picked it up and handed the valet the key. I would totally rent from here again if I find myself in the heart of San Francisco and in need of a ride for a few days.

Customer service was super clear and nice, got all the paperwork done when I arrived, and gave clear directions for pick up and drop off. Cars are located at a garage two blocks up from the office, so adjust accordingly if in a rush or carrying a lot of luggage. Drop off is super easy, just leave the keys with the parking attendant and you're done! My only small issue is that as a small local company, you might be in a bit of a bind if you need service or have an accident after hours and far out of the city.
