After getting a bad cut months ago, I had yet to find a stylist to overcome the damage that had been done on my hair in the back. In one cut she made my issue almost non-existent. She also trimmed my bangs so I had the parted bangs I had been wanting. The salon as a whole is upbeat and fun. Recently moved out to the Woodlands and came across Luxe Salon via reviews on Yelp. SO SO happy I found this little salon. As someone with curly hair (and unable to do the Brazilian Blowout due to breastfeeding) getting my hair cut is often stressful. I've had many cuts that did not work with my curly hair and blowouts that left me with a sore scalp and frizzy hair. However, Falon understands the struggle as she also has curly hair. She was so precise and careful with my cut and style. She did not rush blow drying my hair and I left with a smooth style and an awesome cut. She is also full of personality and was great to chat with. She offers booking online with is super convenient, her prices are more than reasonable, and the quality of her work is phenomenal! read more

Falon and Shelby are great. They do excellent work and they work fabulously as a team. I was referred to them and wanted a Brazilian Blowout and highlights. Because of some issues I mentioned having with my hair, Falon strongly urged me not to do the highlights at that time. That was money she could have made that day but she did what she felt was best for me, not for her. My hair turned out amazing (with just the blowout) and I have been back since (2 visits now, first in October 2018). I want to preface this review by admitting I am "one of those" clients that worries about my personal decision in making changes to my hair, as well as worries about the outcome of trying new stylists...ask the ladies at Luxe Salon, I'm sure they will agree with me here, lol. Falon did color, highlights, and a brazilian blowout on my hair yesterday. I normally get full blonde highlights, but Falon's choice to go a different route turned out really nice. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall outcome. As for the brazilian blowout, if you have any doubts, put them aside and go for it. I have had these done in the past and they are SO worth it! My hair is naturally curly, but I straighten it all the time. The BB should be your new best friend and is fabulous for humidity, plus it cuts drying time in half. Where was this when I was a teenager!? I also had a cut done by Jessica, and she nailed it. I came in with huge doubts about my decision to try something new (shorter haircut), and was super nervous about how it would look with my fine, limp hair. I will preface by saying I have struggled all my life finding a good hairdresser...I have always had unruly, frizzy, wavy-to-curly hair that is impossible to deal with--especially in Houston heat/humidity. I have had one hairdresser all my life that really knew how to cut and maintain my hair type, but she is back home in Austin and I couldn't keep driving out there for hair appointments! I decided to take a chance here, based on the Yelp reviews...and was not disappointed *in the least*. Falon and Shelby are A+ ladies. I got a cut and a Brazilian Blowout, and they did an utterly fantastic job (and were great company, too)! They listened to all my concerns, made great recommendations, and answered all of my questions...and made me feel completely at home. My hair is frizz-free for the first time in my life, and I could not be more happy. I will be going back to them when it is time to get my next blowout! This was a bit confusing as I reserved through "Luxe Salon" website, but the salon building itself is called "Sola Salon" and is not in the same Kuykendahl location as stated on Yelp. Although sign at the door indicated masks were required, and you had to sign a COVID waiver to get service, neither of the two people working there were wearing masks. Two stars because Shelby did an amazing job. But not 5 because I know I was taken advantage of. I went in for a shampoo and style, I was charged 65 instead of 40. I used the yelp check in for 10 off. It still didn't make sense as I was driving away so I messaged them. You can't just choose a style tool and then surprise! Here's $25 added to your bill. No reputable salon would have a stylist suggest something without letting the client know if there will be an additional charge. DO NOT make the client feel stupid for not running your business well. No profesional business should have misleading information on their website whatsoever. I wasn't asking for a refund but a credit for the next visit because I did want to come back for Shelby next time, I really did. I am not taking away any of her hard work. Bottom line, anything added should be told it's extra, it's not my job to assume and always be upfront. You would think they want customers to return but I don't think he cared at all. Apparently I'm the first person who has brought this to their attention. This leads me to believe others never mentioned this and just end up throwing their money away. Which I'm sure this business does not care. Overall, his response was sarcastic, unprofessional and I don't recommend this place. I am new to the area and decided to go to Luxe after seeing all the reviews on Yelp. I don't really do much with my hair. I usually just brush it and let it air dry. Most the time when I go to salons they tell me I really should be doing such and such and try to sell me products that I'll never use. When I went into Luxe, I told Falon my usual hair routine and she spent a good 10 minutes seeing how my hair behaves and thinking of a cut that would work well with my lifestyle. I love the cut and it looks great with minimal effort (my main goal). I was also growing out my highlights from over a year ago and was kind of self-conscious about the current color situation of my hair but instead of pushing me to get new highlights/corrective color, Falon reassured me that my color was growing out well and actually looked like I had got an ombre color job and made it look like that on purpose (score!). Falon was very informative and when I expressed interest in getting a Brazilian blowout, and while she originally thought I wouldn't need one since my hair dries so straight, after working with my hair a little more and seeing how much it tangles, she recommended that I go ahead and get the blowout. I wasn't sure so I left after my appointment without one but now after thinking about it I am convinced and just booked my appointment for my blowout (can't wait). Overall, I love that you can book an appointment online which is really convenient, I love Falon's laid back attitude and that she doesn't try to pressure you into buying more products and services, and I got a great haircut and will be going back for my next one. read more

Wow...I am new to The Woodlands and had a choice of so many salons when it came time to make an appointment to get my hair cut. I chose Falon at Luxe Salon solely based on Yelp recommendations. Every recommendation was spot on. Luxe is a 2 chair salon in a building full of individual salons. I felt so comfortable the minute I walked in. Falon has cut my hair 3-4 times and every time I went in for a cut it was great. I even sent my mom to her and she was pleased with the cut. Then I decided to have falon balayage my hair. I usually do it at home with a box dye but I wanted more blonde so I went in to see Falon and showed her a picture of a standard balayage. She did mention that she probably couldn't get it as blonde as the picture which I said was fine, I know I have dark hair. She even pulled up a picture of a balayage on her phone as a reference and I said that's perfect. She then asked if I wanted the blonde to go as high up in the pictures and I said you could go a little higher (because I wanted a lot of blonde). Well I walked out of there with silver/gray HIGHLIGHTS all the way up to my scalp. I texted her asking for at least a partial refund, which she refused, but did offer to make it right but chalked it up to a "miscommunication". I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, but even if I had gone in and asked for highlights, this would've been a terrible high light job which wasn't even what I wanted. The appointment also took forever (went to a new lady and she fixed my hair in half the time) and the conditioner wasn't even washed out all the way. It was so greasy I had to wash my hair when I got home. A few days after my appointment a friend found a copper colored spot in my hair (see picture) probably from where the dye/product wasn't washed out all the way. Sucks that I have to write this but I'm super unhappy with this unprofessional salon. read more

Falon did an AMAZING job on my Brazilian Blowout, it is life changing! Great conversation and she walks you through the process without pressuring you to buy products, not to mention she is hilarious! Usually my hair is crazy, curly, and poofy and it is now incredibly soft, tame and almost straight. I don't have to spend time doing my hair in the mornings anymore. I moved to the Woodlands area about four years ago. For two of those years I would make trips back to Austin to get my hair cut by my hair stylist because I didn't want to take the chance of having a bad cut/color/process. I have naturally curly hair and very few people know how to manage it!! Then I found Falon and boy was that a blessing!! Not only does she know how to manage my hair, but I started with getting a Brazilian blow out! BEST decision I ever made. The humidity was killing me in Hourston, I'd take 45 mins - an hour to do my hair only to get out into the humidity and it would be more frizzy than when I started in about five minutes! After my first Brazilian blow out, it took me 15 mins max to flat iron my hair after air drying it overnight, little to no touch ups necessary!! I am one happy girl that I found Falon and that she has made my hair feel like silk!! In addition to the ease of styling, I also have found that my hair is growing faster and the shine is amazing!
